It turns out Barack Obama and Amy Lee are realllllyyyy distant cousins. Amy Lee has stated that she's a direct descendant of Robert E. Lee.

According to this article published on Yahoo, it turns out Barack Obama is also related to Robert E. Lee.

Just as somewhat of a Public Service Announcement...

Regardless of which political candidate Amy supports, I would certainly hope that no vote would ever be based on who Amy supports. Even if you (think) have the same ideals and morals as her, do your own research and form your own opinions.

You should always remember that while you may love celebrities and think you know *everything* about them, there absolutely do not know everything about them.

And that goes for people in general and thus is applicable to the whole "think for yourself" idea.

Agreed. I thought that when people read that Mike Huckabee said in an interview that his favorite band was Evanescence a while back, that some of them would become Huckabee fans, solely based on that. Luckily, I don't think anyone did.

And just to add to that off-topic blurb above, if I remember correctly, Mike Huckabee was governor of Arkansas at the time that Evanescence was simply a local band.

This is nice to know, but like Chelle said, I'm not using this as my primary reason to vote for Obama. I'm favoring Clinton at the moment anyway.
