For the open door? I have to say I think it was a bit of a weird thing to do to release a dvd after just one album. I was wondering if they were going to release another "open door tour" dvd. I think it rests on how well the album sells. I think if they hadn't have released anywhere but home, we'd definately have a dvd to tie in with the open door, but since they did, we'll probbaly have to wait untill next album to get one.

I think they will after the success of Anywhere But Home... They can make ALOT more money from a similar dvd and it'd great for the fans. Works both ways. TBH I think it makes sense for all big bands to make a dvd to tie in with the tour of a new album. Don't know why they don't do it, I mean they can't have financial problems.

I'd love a TOD dvd :D

Considering Windup's past, I could see them releasing The Open Door as a "special edition" with live tracks, acoustic cuts, b-sides and a DVD of the videos. I don't see another live DVD like ABH.

We all know we'd like them to. I just don't think they'll do it as early as The Open Door.

They did release one after fallen (a bad move, imo) so I don't think it's as predictable as we may think it is.

they should do something simmilar to MCR's "Life on the Murder Scene"; a 2 dvd set (so there is less limit to what they can put on the dvd) and then a live cd with most of the open door material (if not all) and then some of the songs that weren't preformed from fallen and before (like a live version of missing or even earlier like anything for you)

and release it in a non-cardboard case :P (I have horrible experiences with them)

I'd love it if they released a DVD maybe in late 2007 for 'The Open Door.' I just hope that when they do release another DVD that they'll get someone else to direct and edit it. The camera movements were way to insane for my taste, :p. Everything else was great though.

What kind of question is that!? Of course they should release another DVD! Not only do I love band DVDs, but its something for them to release for us to hold us over until the next new album. Plus, ABH got us to look into who the band was as people, and Tim is new, so he needs a little DVD love! :p

i think they will i mean they know that not everyone can go to one of their shows and i think that that is one of the main reasons they did it. Not only that but they like to give the fans a lot of info on themselves which is so awesome!

Of course they should! Not only because we, fans, are addicted for the band's videos, but as well because their current shows are simply ROCKING...Guys, Evans came back in an aweful way, so, it's more than necessary releasing another DVD.

You know, I would love to see a concert DVD + BTS from this tour, but I think it's too soon after ABH. Keep in mind that this is only the second album...so two albums and two DVDs would be kind of weird. :X

I would never say no to one, though. Especially if it had over an hour of backstage/behind-the-scenes footage. That's what made ABH so completely worth it lol.

There is no reason why Ev wouldn't release another DVD after the TOD tour. However, we can't even expect to really even know if its coming until after the tour is over. I have yet to hear of a band who released a DVD before the tour had been over for a few months. Considering the tour just started, I doubt we will get any info about it for a long while, so don't worry about it being too soon after ABH.

Well the only reason we got ABH is because they didn't know when the next album was going to come out, and knew it was going to take a while. So if they come out with another DVD, I hope that doesn't mean another few years before the third album. hahah.
However, with that being said, I'd still love another DVD. and I'm sure they'll choose an appropriate time for that. Not to worry. ;)

But I think this DVD should touch on a more personal level. I want to see them living their everyday lives instead of touring. And if they happened to do an MTV Cribs on Evanescence, I think it would be awesome to put that on there.

Um...why do you want cameras probing into the personal lives of the band members outside of touring? Aren't they allowed some privacy?

I like backstage/behind-the-scenes stuff. It's usually really funny and provides a great look at how the band members are when they're not onstage or signing autographs/doing interviews.

And I looooove the bloopers. That's my absolute favorite part of ABH...the bloopers section + pranks :D

I agree with the people that say it would be weird to do cd, then live dvd for every new cd and that Ev should wait;

the only problem I have with that is that some songs tend to get "lost" persay because they would have enough material to skip songs and not put them on a dvd which sucks for the people who have that as their fave song. for instance I would LOVE to hear missing live; but the further in Ev's career; the less likely you are to hear that song as it is a b-side, even in their current tour they have yet to do a cover or b-side in theirset list (or so I have heard)

I'm sure most people would say they're just doing the same things again, but I'm sure they'll manage to make it differently if they release another DVD

I would love to have a DVD with songs from The Open Door but I think it should be released later so that any videos for singles are on it. It would be great to have a full concert and lots of behind the scenes stuff and bloopers from different countries. Maybe there could be an acoustic section with a few of the songs from The Open Door. I would really like that :D

I'd love them too, but it does seem a bit early. Maybe if they did something that was different to ABH. Like a live show and maybe a documentary about the band by the band. Maybe a track by track guide as well, mixed with behind the scenes stuff, rather than just behind the scenes of concerts and stuff.

Having a live album so early in their career was a bit weird, but I understand why the band did it. With everything that was going on internally (Ben leaving, for example), the new album was bound to take a while to appear - they needed something to keep the fans happy and keep them in the spotlight.

I think releasing another live DVD would be a terrible idea - it'd start loads of 'cashing in' 'selling out' rumours, and who the hell can be bothered. I think they need to wait a while before they release another live album/DVD....

Like somebody here said, they main reason we got "ABH" was becasue, they didn't know when "TOD" would be released, and Amy knew it was going to take a while, and it did. I mean, the lawsuits, Terry's stroke, Will leaving the band. I mean, there was a lot of turmoil leading up to this album.

You know what, i don't think they should release another DVD like "ABH." With the behind the scence footage. I think we have already gotten a glimpse into what happens backstage. Plus Anywhere But Home, covered so much that i don't think that we would be surprised or as facinated to watch, because, we've already seen it. Unless youa re so obsessed with Amy or the guys that you would want to see every move they made, and even how they wipe their butts.

I think it would be a better idea to have the a concert from the tour tape for a TV special or something like that, then release it on DVD. With rehersals, and any songs that could be cut off the main DVD.

What would also be cool was like, a DVD about the making of "THE OPEN DOOR" maybe something entitled "Evanescence: Behind The Door" or something like that. With footage of them in the studio recording the songs. Aerosmith did something like that during the recording of "Pump" I think that would be more interesting than another live DVD.

Well, one of the reasons they did Anywhere But Home, was so that they could give us something to kind of tie us over while they worked on the new CD. Because the tour was over, all the singles we're released, and all the videos were done, so they wanted to give us something else to have while they were off the road.

So, I can imagine they'd do the same thing.
They had way too much fun doing Anywhere But Home, I can't imagine them NOT doing another one.

But in all seriousness...Anywhere But Home already had that blooper stuff and while I understand everybody would just go "more, more, more", I think that releasing another DVD like that so soon wouldn't be as special.

This idea on the other hand would mark yet another side to Ev and would display Ev when most feel their at their very best...their acoustic/piano performances.

For those who haven't seen an acoustic performance, it's intimate, stripped-down, and the atmosphere is much lighter.

Tape it in a smaller venue and perhaps perform older songs...I must be dreaming :p

However, I also think doing in between now and prior to the release of the next album would be too soon. To me at least, it seems a bit daft if for every album, another live CD/DVD is released with basically the same material.

What I think would be a really good idea is if they waited a few albums and then did something in the vain of Nightwish's End of Innocence DVD. Where the band tells the story of the band. Okay, so maybe in the process of making The Open Door alone there was enough drama to tell an interesting enough story, but it is just one phase of the bands progress. Whilst all the blooper stuff is entertaining, there is no reason why that couldn't be stuck on a DVD accompanying say, the next album. Their next DVD should be MORE than ABH. Not just a re-run.

Another option is putting together something like My Chemical Romance's "Life on the Murder Scene" which collected all of the live songs off of television appearances and AOL etc. and put them together. On top of that their could be a biography of the band, an extra disk with b-sides and live songs from those television appearances or another concert with the new songs on it.

That would be so cool to see an acoustic concert by Evanescence. I've heard Call Me When You're Sober, Bring Me To Life, Going Under, My Immortal and Heart Shaped Box (plus part of Everybody's Fool on the ABH DVD) acoustically and would totally want to hear more. The acoustic performances just seem a lot more haunting and relaxing.

I know I'm going totally ahead into the future saying this but, maybe they should wait untill they've released all the singles from The Open Door, so all the videos can be included on the DVD so we could have them all available to watch anytime, just like the videos from the Fallen era on the ABH DVD.

I think they definetely must release it in 2007, when all singles will be released and all videos shooted. This will be a great present for us, and it will be sold out if there will be much bonus staff, including concert (may be several), all new misic videos, different live performances, several unreleased tracks, makinf of the videos, behind the scene stuff, participations in different shows:)

Like any fan, I'd love to see a new DVD released but I don't think anything else will (or should) happen until maybe this time next year, or Spring 2008. Bunging everything together at once kind of spoils it, I prefer to have a bit of a gap so I have something to look forward too, you know? Ofcourse everyone is eager now TOD has been released and toured a little, but I would say give Ev abit of a break first ;)

Amy was asked by a fan after the show in Houston if they had any plans to put out another DVD.. and she said no, not for a while. So I doubt any future DVD would have footage from TOD tour. =/

Man, that sucks. But, then again: They weren't sure whether they were going to do one for fallen at first (If my facts are right....which i don't know if they are...*shrugs*) so there may be hope yet. ^_^

It wasn't just one album. What about Origin. And you can't say it hasn't entertaned a lot of people for all thes years. All 2 of them :D

Origin doesn't count.

It was an independently released album in 2000, which most of us really didn't find out about until after Fallen was released in 2003...and by then, Origin had gone out of print.

I thought on stage he was nowhere near as energetic as he used to be. Functioning, you know, but that doesn't mean a 100%.

For the open door? I have to say I think it was a bit of a wierd thing to do to release a dvd after just one album. I was wondering if they were going to release another "open door tour" dvd. I thin it rests on how well the album sells. I think if they hadn't have released anywhere but home, we'd definately have a dvd to tie in with the open door, but since they did, we'll probbaly have to wait untill next album to get one.

XD they have to. the backstage thing in Anywhere but home was soo funny XD you know see the real evanescence :cool:

I read an interview with Terry, and they asked if a new DVD would be coming out....

So, I guess that is our answer.

But if it is a live dvd, then they would just film it on tour right? lol, not like they have to take time out, they would just get the cameras to follow them around at a certain location or whatever.

If Terry's not better yet though, he may not feel like being filmed yet or something. If that is why, we can wait :)
I would LOVE another one that would be filmed at some point during this tour though, if hes up to it!

I think they should. Or at least released a DVD with HQ Music Videos and behind the Scenes of Both eras of music.

Or release an Evanescence package with "The Evanescence EP," "Sound Asleep\Whisper EP," "Origin," "Mystery EP," ALL the demos to each era, cut songs, the rumored songs if they are Evanescence, and ALL the singles. Every Version of the singles too. And sell it for about 100 bucks.

And I mean all the official versions as well.

I definitely like them to release another DVD. That'd be awesome. Although i admit I still haven't quite gotten over TOD yet so give it another year or something (or at least, until all the singles have been released so they can include all of the music videos again?) but I really hope there's going to be another DVD in the works.

After the Sydney show Josh was filming the fans at the fence while we were talking to Amy, and it didn't look like the average personal camera type thing, so let's hope that stuff might be being filmed for the possibility of a future dvd? *crosses fingers*

I really don't see how making another CD/DVD could not be a financial success for Wind Up. I think it would be smart of them to do it again with the right concert. I really want to see the same type of thing that they did with ABH. That was an awesome 2 disk set. Having all of the videos and goodies on 1 DVD is great. I don't think it sold all that well though. I don't want just a DVD I want a CD/DVD again.

I think a DVD might sell well if they did it during the break between albums again.

Anywhere But Home sold rather well and continues to do so. Most Ev fans who don't get a chance to see them live (like me), will definately buy a live DVD. So will the people who were at the concert or wanted to be at the concert and couldn't.

Honestly, though, the set list should be long if they're going to DVD it. Like some of the more recent set lists they're playing that hit around 17 songs. And include some B-sides and maybe a new song. It would sell extremely well.

When we spoke to Amy at the mett and greet in Brisbane we aked her if they were bringing out another DVD and she said they didnt want to release a DVD with content that had been done before BUT... she said they had a lot of home video.. so there was no yes but no.. no! I hope they bring out an Australian Tour CD or DVD... we were flimed at the meet and greet in Perth so who knows!! Fingers crossed

Considering Windup's past, I could see them releasing The Open Door as a "special edition" with live tracks, acoustic cuts, b-sides and a DVD of the videos. I don't see another live DVD like ABH.

That's a good idea. I wouldnt mind a real live full concert dvd like ABH though. They gave us a great concert,great behind the scenes footage and all the videos. It's one of my favorite live dvds.

All internacional rock band, after a platinum album released a DVD with a concert or a couple of songs from difference concerts. An example is Nightwish: it have three DVD since 2000, one DVD by every album that they have released.

It would be awesome if they release another dvd like in 2008, with all the stuffs that had on Anywhere But Home and the acoustic version of the songs they did.
I really want it to have the concert, because the fans that can´t go to their concerts can watch it in a high quality and see better what is an Evanescence concert, and It would be awesome if the concert they put on the dvd have a real choir singing with Amy in the songs that have choir, this would be fantastic.

ABH was average for me... I don't think Ev was at their best during that concert. And I thought it was kinda odd to release a live DVD after only one album (not that I didn't like it, but it wasn't anything super incredibly special). A live DVD for TOD would be cool, but I don't see them getting into the habit of releasing a live DVD for every album they do. Perhaps in a few years after the 3rd album?

I don't know about you guys, but I want to see footage of them in the studio...recording, mixing, writing, re-writing, goofing around (a la "Tuna Afternoon"). I love the bloopers, "Evanescence Unleashed," pretty much any behind-the-scenes footage I can get. I LIVE for bloopers. "Frooooozen insiii--BLAHHHHHHHHH!!!!"

Then, of course, it would have to include videos for all the singles from TOD. Maybe a live concert, or better--a smaller, more intimate show, maybe an "Unplugged" thing. And definitely a couple of "super-secret" menu options that you have to be a genius to find.

Yeah, something like that.

No. I don't think he created the trailer. I think he did some recording of the writing and recording process. Probably for a DVD.

Yes, they should. ABH was so great! They could include a concert, the new clips, bloopers, behind the scences, making of,... and instrumental versions of the songs on TOD. I can so see that dvd already... (starts dreaming)

well, the reason they released the dvd anywhere but home was so the fans had something to watch/listen to until the next cd (which was two years later...i wouldve died without it lol....and i know amy said it...just cant remember where....as usual.).

none the less, i would really really enjoy another dvd!! that would make me very happy :D but if they did that, they still wouldnt release it for a while.....ya. i could go on and on....lol

I think they should for the open door album. And not for the new guys, the new guys arent the open door. So another DVD would kinda be like a farewell to our guys.. like memory lane

Hopefully they will. Pink is releasing another live DVD. most bands often release two, one with videos and a concert DVD. I agree, another live DVD would be good.

Oh yeah, I just remembered that DVDs are made for Family Values. Ev will probably get 3 or 4 songs on there. I'll be buying that for sure. But I'd still like for them to release another DVD of their own.

i did want them to make another dvd, but now with all the membership changes, and as the DND guys are just temporary for this tour and then they'll be replaced again..it might make it less fun to watch. Nevertheless, iguess they could still make one though, and include all the Open Door videos and a decent interview and such.

Ok, I thought that the whole idea was cool and I really hope they release another dvd... it's like being able to go to a concert whenever I want! And the behind the scenes stuff was HILarious.

HOWEVER...
I really hope they have a different video editor or something b/c damn, the concert part flashes around so much I think it could give me seizure at times. I mean, I'd rather it be shots of the band/crowd/whatever, but I just hate when the images blink so fast I can't really feel like I am there, you know? That's my two cents. :)

I can't say that I see Ev entering 2008 as a band - don't wanna think that but I do. A DVD would be great if the band was going to continue, as it stands I doubt we'll get one (but that doesn't stop me wantin another ;))

Yup. I made a the Live and Intimate special into a dvd. I think I did a pretty good job considering my technological genius usually goes as far as texting and attempting to use forums. (I'm getting better). I even made a cover. But I can't stand watching the interview now...... Due to recent events.

For real. I hate the way the concert footage was done. Too much unnecessary editing and such. Haha, you got it exactly right. I've always thought that thing could give someone a seizure.

The behind the scenes footage was what made ABH really awesome. But yeah, with all the lineup changes, I doubt that stuff would be as good. It's not so much fun watching a bunch of people you don't know. :/

And I guess I agree with everyone thinking that Ev won't be together much longer. But that's why I especially want them to make a dvd this time. Kind of like a last goodbye.

Plus, I definitely want a dvd of all the TOD music videos.

ya, i dont think they are gonna have a dvd for this album....cuz as much as most of us LOVE the open door as much as fallen, to a lot of people, fallen was better, so i also think that kinda adds to it - you know, why they wont likely release a dvd. but i know for a fact (i read it somewhere here on evthreads....dont remember where) that evanescence (mainly amy) is contracted to three cd's. so i would imagine, that if her next cd does REALLY GOOD, they will make a final dvd. or something like that.

but wouldnt a dvd for the open door rock? cuz it would have a pretty wicked theme, and they could add all the good live performances and good live acoustics (like at AOL and stuff)!! *dreams on*

But I would think that for the amount of people who love fallen more than TOD, there are people who love TOD more than fallen (*cough* me *cough*). Also, since the band seems to think it's awesome, I'd think they'd want to make one. Just my opinion though.

Also, Worm Baby, even though it wouldn't be as funny with newbies, it'd still be funny. And maybe, just maybe, they got footage before the old guys left? :) (wishful thinking though, I'm sure).

I think that the Live from the Palm, Las Vegas will be the next ABH although it might only be released on iTunes or digital download not as a whole DVD.

Wouldn't it be hard to release a new DvD after john and rocky been gone??:confused: I mean,ABH there was no ben but did show some shots where he was around the shooting of it.And the rest was like 2004,it would be pretty hard to do another one.If the band ever chooses to do another expect your hearts to jump in 2008.........i'm just guessing:p
