Hi everybody. I know everyone of you is waiting for a new album from Ev.
But I'm sure there're different opinions about the new album's release terms. Somebody thinks that time has come, somebody thinks not....

It takes a long time to write a bunch of songs and compile the best ones into an album. There shouldn't be any pressure from fans or anyone. Whenever Amy and friends are ready to start writing again then that's when they will. As long as there's going to be a third album then I'm happy. I'm not expecting it at a certain time though.

I think Evanescence needs, and totally deserves, rest. No doubt about that. I'm very excited to see what the new album will bring. And if Will and Troy decide to stay.

i've noticed that usually the longer it takes for an album to be made/completed, the better it is. so Ev should take as long as they need, even if years before we hear anything new.

I know I'll hafta wind down my EvHype for another year [or three!] If I could, I'd wish for them to make one song a month, but I don't wanna rush it. TOD took time, and it turned out beautiful, I'll just hafta wait for it to be MORE beautiful that that....GO EV!

They need rest. Amy needs time to be a wife. The guys need some normality. All unfortunately of course, but I think TOD was worth waiting for so the next one will be too :)
I do find that weird how much older I'll be by then, though.

However, this time, once a release date is set, I rather like it to stay set. No false starts etc. &No leaks :D

I'd say around a year for they have been touring for more than a year and they just need rest. The more time spent making it, the better it'll be. Rushing into something like that really isn't a good idea, for I don't feel as personal connection to the song if it was just put together in a few months like many other artists do. I wish I could hear new stuff, but at the same time I have a weird feeling that it's too soon to hear new material just yet. So, why not wait a little extra longer for for something that is of better quality?

For me around october - november next year would be cool, its less of a wait than fallen and will probs give them a good amount of time off but i think we're lloking more at 2009 tbh cause she's only got married this year and she may not be thinking about a new album yet. It depends on the levels on new material they have in mind cause they certainly dont want to rush things! Hopefully sometime in the second half of next year that would be great :)

I totally agree! But if they need more time, I suppose that's fine. They deserve it and the longer the break, the better the album hopefully. I just hope we get something in between like another ABH (probably not going to happen) or something like that. :)

Amy said they were going to do something in between i think... she said she wanted to do something different again though cause she doesnt like being repetitive and so i think we should expect some kind of release within the next year similar to ABH but not quite the same....

I cant remember where i heard it but i think that was right, anyone have any more info on this??

yes we all like other bands but the other bands that I like are finishing their tour too so they'll make a break too, and it's hard the waiting (for me) cuz I always think how would the music sounds like and that stuff...It's my nature I can't wait for anything :D
but in this case I know that ev need a break

They deserve a break. I hate to say 'as long as it takes', but if that's what happens, than I guess it's okay. As long as they don't stop making music. As long as they make a CD (or DVD) during our wait to keep us at bay. ;)

Also, I just don't want them to kind of dissappear for that time, so you don't really hear anything for a few years, you know what I mean? I hope they still post on the board every once in a while and their site is updated occasionally. And we know whose still in the band (I mean if they keep Will and Troy to write with or have to replace them with someone else so they can go back to Dark New Day). I don't mean like weekly or even monthly updates- just something occasionally so we know there is still gonna be a third album!

I think that it will probably come out in 18 months to 2 years after Ev finishes this final tour. Amy definitely wants a year off to be a wife...and I sure that she will be writing and everything (maybe recording a little here and there) but that not until they feel fully rested and rejuvenated from the last album will they go back into the studio and really start working on it. So depending how long it takes them to make the album in studio (depends on how many songs they go in with and how smoothly the writing process goes) they could spend 6 months to a year in the studio.

I think not only is it important for them to take a break but they need to live there lives i mean being on tour they have to give up alot of things and they totally deserve as much time as they want to wind down and make a freakin awesome new cd. i expect it to be quite sometime before the next cd. they deserve a break before they start writing and such again.

I think they should take 2 or 3 years before releasing the next CD, I mean, between Fallen and TOD there were 3 years, and TOD is much better than Fallen, I'd love an other CD like TOD ^^
Better if they get the time they need, enough to do a new CD as great as TOD

I think, concidering, they have been on tour for over a year now, they all deserve a nice relaxing break, for at least two years, like Amy has already planned!! Alot of people don't understand just how exhausting, it all can really be!! They pretty much live in and out of hotels, their always flying, which can be alot of jet lag, always giving every last bit of all their energy on stage, so its a whole lot of being exhausted in the long run!!
I think it would be nice to have a brand new cd from Ev, but just after they have rested for a while!!
I think they most likely will be writting some stuff, as they are on break, and putting some idea's together for a third album!!
I have always known Ev, they are always so full of suprises, and we never know what to expect, BUT the end result has always been absolutely Phenominal, and always just mind blowing!!:D ;) :) :p :cool: :§cool: :bangshead:

Amy have to have a break for staying with his husband and the guys have to coming back to normal life and make something different and then if we wanna have a masterpiece as TOD then the waiting worths so much!

Im waiting for them to come on tour in the UK.

I dont mind when they release a new album. It's going to be at least a year anyway with the whole writing/recording process.

As much as I'd love to see a new album in stores like TOMORROW.. I think it's best if they took a break for a year or two to come up with better material and have the chance to rest and get on with their regular lives.

yes of course i wud luv a new album now. but considering all the touring they're going through, they do need some rest. & they also ned to settle down wit a new drummer & a guitarist, as DND drummer & guitarists are not permanently EV's. other than that, Amy also needs some time alone wit her new life. she has a personal life too, other than music. so, i would love a more harder, more gothic kind of album sometime after a year :)

as much as i cant wait for the next album, and i would love to have it now, Amy and the rest of the band do need rest. they've been tourig for like, ever. and i think that once they all get a good break, they will be much more content and will be prepared once again to tour and handle the crazy life of a musican once again. plus, i think the music will be better to, rather than 'ok, you guys just finish a tour, now pump out another good album!!' im not doubting ev's creative ability AT ALL, but if they get a good break, then there next album will be to the best of their ability, instead of being rushed. do you know what im saying? plus, everybody involved with Evanescence have lives of their own. Amy just got married. And I all know that some of us are having a hard time sharing Amy with Josh (cuz we all love her so darn much), but she deserves it. The band needs a good relaxing break of being normal. You know. Walk down the street and not have a bazillion people take your picture. Go shopping. Go see a movie. Normal stuff. :)

(Because most artists release new songs on their Greatest Hits). It really wouldn't take too much work from the band- maybe a photoshoot for the cover or whatever and picking the songs. It would be a cool thing to tide us over until the 3rd studio album. Anyway, I'd buy it :D !

well, it would be greatest HITS.. a single doesn't necessarily mean a hit. it would be crazy to put sweet sacrifice (one of the 8 singles) on a greatest hits CD because it didn't chart hardly anywhere.

Unfortunatly, singles (and b-sides) don't count as hits unless the song goes "mainstream" and plays along the popular crap on the radio. :rolleyes:

I am selfish enough to where I definately want it to be out asap, however, I know that its going to be a while. They still need time to write all of the songs and record everything.
