This is the first time I've really ever posted on here. I'm usually a lurker on forums. Today I decided to post a thank you to Amy Lee even though she will most likely never see it. Last year my two precious twins died before they ever had a chance to be born. A month later, I lost my beautiful and beloved grandma who was an angel long before she ever left this place. Shortly after that is when Steve Irwin died. He was my inspiration and hero (I am currently working toward earing a degree in Biology to work in a zoo and wildlife conservation). I had never met him, but he still meant alot to me just as Amy Lee does to her fans now. Yesterday afternoon, after a long struggle with Pulmonary Fibrosis, my dearest aunt died after not receiving a lung transplant in time to save her life. I adored that woman. She was like a second mother to me. She was an opera singer who has been performing here with Opera Memphis for 13 years. She even managed to get a part in Cirque de Soleil as a lead vocalist (which she had to travel from Memphis, TN to Canada AND Vegas to audition for!), but she became ill immediately after being accepted. She was never able to play that role.

My heart feels like it has been broken more times than it has been whole lately. Coming from a singing family, one of the few things that brings me joy in life is singing. I will never sing in front of anyone because I have a phobia of being in front of people, but I will sing my heart out when I am alone. The songs that Amy Lee writes always manage to fit whatever I am going through. Everything she puts out there is from her heart and is so human that her fans can relate to it all so well. It's so cliche to say this, but her songs have really pulled me through these losses. I can weep and sing these songs and feel like I am not alone. I mean, I know I'm not. We all go through loss and sorrow. But sometimes, when you are faced with tragedy you can't help but feel alone.

So thank you, Amy Lee (Mrs. Hartzler). Thank you, Evanescence. From the very bottom of one girl's broken but hopeful heart, thank you. If you guys were not out there, we would not have much else to cling to musically. Most of the other musicians on the radio are just money-making, pop-bots. They have nothing human in them that reaches out to me. They have no substance. I would have nothing to sing along to and help me cope with all of this loss. Thanks for being something real we can hang on to.

And yes, Music is another world, another dimension, in my point of view. And as you sing you know what I'm talking about. There's better than music to express what we're feeling.

At the moment I've been going through a lot. Well since I was born I've had it quite tough actually...which has really been getting me down. (I'd tell you exactly what's happened to me so far, but I'm not that comfortable about telling all of Evthreads my life story!)
I have no friends (the few I've had always bullied me and treated me like a doormat and a piece of crap) and sometimes feel I have no shoulder to cry on. I think too much about that future and the past than the present. I'm petrified of losing another loved one in the near future. I don't know how I'd be able to handle the trauma. I can't even bare to look in the mirror or hear my own name, all I can see are flaws. I have these dreams to become a great singer who motivates and pushes everyone like you do, but I'm often discouraged and intimidated by other singers because I'm "not as good as them" or "never will be as great".

But, your music has pulled me through so many tough times. Sometimes I say to myself that I might not have been here today if it wasn't for you, Amy, and Evanescence. I have such a strong connection to the lyrics in your songs and the music is so captivitating and moving that they always bring me to tears.
Thank you for being the amazing person you are Amy, and I hope you manage to read this. This is probably my only opportunity to tell you all this because I doubt you'll ever perform in Malta or come anywhere close enough for me to travel.

i live in israel, and i was so excited when i saw you where coming here, but i couldn't go. that same day i was seposed to have a duete with my best friend in a school play, and it would be the first time in my life for me to sing in front of a crowd. not only that i couldn't come to your show, i got a very sopre throat the day before the school play, and at the day of the show i could hardly get a sound out of my mouth, so i didn't get to sing the duete. so that was one of the worst days of my life.
one of my biggest dreams would be to sing with you, or like you.
