In one of their interviews, Amy mentioned how CMWYS had a bit of "attitude" and 'RnB' rhythm in it. And so i thought How cool it would be if there was a R'n'B remix to the song. What are your opinions? Cool or UnCool?

When i'm free, i might try to mix CMWYS and create a RnB remix. But it's not anytime soon. Anybody gamed to remix it?

As in Rihanna and Usher R'n'B, or with a bit more of a "soul" groove to it?

As in Beyonce/ Rihanna/Amerie clubbing fast paced 'R'n'B'.

BUT NOTE: No rapping/Hip Hop stuff

nah...it's hard enough for themselves to get into rocker status with most of the media, why set them back?

also, most of those remixes come out ****ty anyway...

but, maybe for the next album they could add some soul by like adding horns and stuff...kind of like--jazz rock? not Maroon 5-ish, just like heavy guitars with some sultry horns...ohhh yeah, that would be awesome!

Well, I'm just Supporting Amy by saying
"I don't like putting things in boxes"- Amy Lee in MuchMusic

Why should we classify music. Music is music. And i Believe that Evanescence's Music is not purely Rock. It's an infusion of classical, goth rock, ballads, metal, even pop, etc.

I love that idea. I love R&B and the beginning of CMWYS reminds me of R&B a lot. I'm up for a remix :D

I think a lot of Ev's songs are remix material. I'd love to hear some official ones if done right.

I'm surprised that as popular as it is, that there aren't any remixes that I know of for it. There were remixes for BMTL, My Immortal, and even Hello.

So I can't see why they don't. I may not be the biggest fan of electronica/techno, but I wouldn't mind listening to it.

Get Charlie Clouser to do a remix. Then you know it would sound good.

I really can't imagine what it would sound like, but I bet it'd be pretty sweet. Does anyone around here know how to do remixes?

BMTL Bliss Mix was awful... I think the idea of making the remix is nice, but I'd like it to be trip-hop version (something like intro and outro in Snow White Queen). I think dj Lethal will be helpful :) But it's too late to make mixes to CMWYS.... the single is released... and I hate when official stuff is not released:confused:

rock singers stick to rock. We love Amy because she is not beyonce.
she IS a classically trained musician... so the horns thing is more likely imo.

Let me point out again, Amy does not like refering to her own music as a certain genre. She thinks her music is a mix of everything she loves. Rock, Metal, Pop, Ballads, Classical, Opera etc.

Besides, she said this song was kinda R'n'B anyways.

I think Scott Storch would make a cool remix of the song. He produced Christina's Stripped, but went off to help Paris on her new album. Curse him! But his remixes are good, so... yea...

xD Just for those songs? Maybe official ones because there are tribute albums from other artists and there's even an electronic tribute to Evanescence, I hate it :p

Edit: By the way, I voted for a remix, I would love it ;)

I wouldn't like an Evanescence remix. It isn't often where I hear a song remix and think it's actually any good, the only remixes that come to my head that I enjoy feature Placebo and Nine Inch Nails.

Have ti be honest, I'm not too keen on the idea. Rhianna is good, Beyonce is good, let them keep doing their stuff but I just can't imagine CMWYS souding good like that!

Yeah I'm totally for out reaching to other sub-genres...it's just that, Evanescence is generally considered a 'rock' band, are they not?

Although, when I play the song in my head, I can definitely hear the R & B influences in the rhythm, but I still think that a remix wouldn't turn out very pretty...

I'd say yes for the hell of it, but I'm not sure. I heard the Hello remix and thought they'd completely ruined the song, but some remixes can be really cool, sio i'd like to listen to it

I could hear that if it was a bluesy style r&b... a more classic feel r&b... not this bland nightmare we've been subjected to for years.

I always thought Bliss Mix was called Bliss Mix because Paul McCoy's vocals were removed. That was the only difference I believe. I'd guess, considering the male vocals are nowhere to be found on the demos, that perhaps it wasn't fully the band's idea. So they released it how they originallly wrote it (hence Bliss Mix)... but maybe I"m just assuming

Yes, that's true. But we classify music to help describe it for others. Evanescence surely isn't purely rock, but if you were describing the band to someone, that's an easy, tangible concept to convey.
It's the artists themselves that can't put themselves in a box (which unfortunately, does happen) and limit themselves based on classifications.

I don't like the idea of a remix.

Allthough I usualy like different types of music being mixed up,
I think people shouldn't mess with Ev-songs:)

I guess it depends how its going to sound. Some remixes go actually very well. Like avrils remix of girlfriend is actually quite catchy for one. But i dont know how itll sound like CMWYS

...i guess its something we'll have to wait and see

Ewww.... it would spoil the whole song!! I love it as CMWYS as it is. I wouldnt mind a remix as long it does not include rapping or anything related to rapping.

it depends on who gets added to the track. as long as they're not garbage (lil mama..) and stick with the breakup theme of the song (no one wants to listen to you brag about your cars or money), then i think it would work.
