Why do people say...

I have been on a lot of forums lately and many people have been rude about my 'Liki-ing-ness' for Evanescence.

They say that Amy Hartzler (Lee) can't sing live and uses a tuner constantly, which they figured out in the first EP, so she sounds a lot better. They also moan about how mean she can be to other people and how whiny she talks. Then about 5 minutes later, they talk about how Amy is so beautiful/hot (depending on gender).

I know she can be mean, but not all the time. Does she really use a tuner for live performances. In my opinion, she sounds fantastic. Why do people have such a bad thing against Evanescence; especially Amy?

Lol, there are always those few people that have to bring others down… I can not answer your question as to weather Amy uses a tuner to sing live, does it matter? She is still awesome with/without one lol… damn sure she is better than me anyhow haha!

Well, since I don't know what a tuner is (I'm a little dumb), I can't answer your first question.

And I suppose to answer your second question, I'd have to ask the Amy-dislikers out there for their reason(s) why they have anything against her.

But from what I've seen, it seems most/a lot of Amy-dislikers don't like her becuase she (take note that I don't believe most of this, I'm trying to give an unbiased answer but I'm no good at this, lol):

- "fired" John from the band
- ^which caused Rocky to quit
- "is awful singing live" which seems to piss fans off a bit
- doesn't approve of people such as Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera etc. (so maybe there are more Britney-Christina-Ev fans out there than we thought)
- is stunningly beautiful (which is true (in my opinion) so maybe they are jealous ...)
- allegedly says stuff in interviews like "I am Evanescence"
- fell out with Ben Moody, and there are probably quite a few Moody fans out there, who might take sides (perhaps)

Phew, I confuse myself sometimes ^^

EDIT: I think people ought to get over the fact that Amy isn't perfect. She's only human, but she's a great one at that, and she's achieved so much. So listen to the music, not the lies.

Unfortunately they are the same tired old things that a lot of people say - best just to ignore them really. There is no need for them to be rude about your tastes.

Who knows why Ev bashing is so popular, probably because the band themselves are popular so there will be a higher proportion of dislikers (is that a word?) along with the higher proportion of fans. The same people often come out with words to the effect of "Lacuna Coil/Within Temptation/Epica/Nightwish etc.etc.etc. are much better than Ev and you should listen to them instead". :rolleyes:

Amy sounds fine live to me too, as far as I know she doesn't have any effects applied.

I too get picked on for liking Ev. I never told any of my classmates I saw them in Feb.

I've been on imdb.com and yeah, people are saying some horrible stuff about her. Unfortunately its hard to fight ignorance.

Yeah people say stuff like that to me all the time. I think it is because the bands they like are not as good as Evanescence, so it is to make them feel better, about there bad bands.

It seems that people are determined to make her into some sort of villian. Taking sides never helped anyone before.

I almost feel sorry for them because I know they're just taking what is perceived to be the accepted stance; and as soon as their computer is switched off their self esteem probably plummets.

It happens to me too and people i know say Ev make horrible song,Tim and Terry aren't good players,Amy is beautiful and has a beautiful voice but she is a b**ch cause they found some live vids with Amy and Ben making something,u know what.Oh my! I think those are these "mainstreamers" who listen to techno, hip-hop and rap without liking it but the others listen to it so they have to as well! I can't stand this people because they haven't any opinion about "real" music and so they talk **** about other good bands (they maybe don't even know them).

Alot of my friends are like "oh she is so dark and depressed all the time" lol im like ahhh no she is not haha and I find that people think she is 'Goth Rock' due to some songs and some looks and they dont pay attention to the awesome songs...

Some people like Amy, some people don't. leave it at that. we all have different opinions on things. if you like something, don't be ashamed of it, don't let people who disagree with you control your opinions. it's as simple as that, okay?
