I've been waiting for this instrumental like... for two or three months (I don't really remember when he has promised to post it). And I think that it's better not to promise anything if you're not sure whether you can keep your promise of not. :rolleyes:

There are events which we cannot foresee or predict.
I am really sorry.
I don't have any more a lot of time to dedicate myself, since September.
As I lived in France, my schedules are very strange, with regard to yours.
I go to school every day, except the weekends, which are dedicated to do my homework.
I have only the holidays, which will last 2 weeks, from October 25th.

Lately, I'm submerged by my work.

The new version of Audacity (which can be downloaded for free) has a feature called vocal remover that works by removing the center pan audio of a song. It doesn't work on all songs, but it's worth a shot.

What's the feature called? I have Audacity and I've tried slpitting the audio track, inverting the right channel and then changing them from stereo to mono. It works, but like I said, the sound is in mono.

Is this the feature you were talking about, or is there a different one - if so, does it effect the sound?

I think this function of Audacity is AMAZING!
I made with thid an instrumental for imaginary and Field Of Innocence...
In some parts of the song you can hear the background vocals but I still like it!!!
Hope you like it too :) I think it's better than the karaoke versions :)

Ok, I tried my hand at making Sally's Song. I used keyboard, harps, bass, dist. guitar, strings, and pizzicato strings. I tried putting in a choir, but that just sounded like it was drowning, so I gave up on that. Please notice that these aren't REAL instruments, but settings on my keyboard.
FOREWARNING: This is NOT, I repeat, NOTTTTTTTTTTT Amy's version of the song.
Rather, my own personal version of the song.
Also, please make note that the version I made is transposed to my own voice, meaning three half steps higher than that of the ORIGNAL version (which is two half steps higher than Amy's version). So, needless to say, if you wanna sing it like it is in Amy's version, transpose it down 5 half steps (or up 7).

Yes, I agree! It doesn't work if you use song with for example 2 voices that are one in the left channel and one in the left (like the demo version of missing). If you use songs with a central audio it works great!!!

Still havnt gotten past the first part of the song sense i had to redo all the drum beats so their timing is right, the E.guitar i need to redo on monday cause their timing is off since i was rushing to do it before the end of class, and still haven't added any detail, once i correct the e.guitar i'll start working on the rest of the songs and add the strumming for the E.guitars along with its harmonies so it sounds less "empty" but any ways here ya go

Hey MorningDove, remember the Even in death instrumental you did?, uhm well by any chance do you have the notes played for the guitars? but in like letter notation format (ex. A#, B, G..etc.), it would be a huge assist to me and my friend in figuring out what extra notes are added in the version Amy performed live, because figuring out the notes by ear is getting abit complicated and confusing, especially the guitar solos before the last verse, thanks in advance

I've almost finished with the guitars of the even in death instrumental, but for some reason the program i used rendered it and it was not in timing, but i will try to fix that tomorrow. Can you guys tell me if the guitar parts are correct? so i can remake them asap. I'll be adding more details and adding missing pieces of the song over the next few days. Hey guys, uhm just posting my weekly update of my instrumental, its almost finished
so far all i need to do is add the choirs that drown out the guitars, then i need to redo the solos (which i totally jacked up lmao) once my friend tells me what the notes are on a piano. And i probably will change some some parts to it, also i need to add some feed-back to some of the guitars, and move the bells at the beginning back a little so theirs not a dead point between them and the drums , but so far this what it sounds like;

It´s such a shame that school takes up so much useful sparetime, I hate school fopr that. And lol, I wish I had good condition, maybe I could jump and dance at the same time I´m singing, I´ve allways wanted to do that. But I don´t have any condition at all. Oh well, at least I can hold out for long notes.
Evanescence songs are not the hardest for me, Within Temptation,Nightwish is alot harder. And we shall not talk about Phantom of the opera. Since I saw the movie I´ve allways wanted to sing like Emmy Rossum,lol. But I guess I would need singing lessons for that. I´´ve never had singing lessons in my whole life, only been singing in choirs etc when I was younger. But other I´m just an amateur who doesn´t know how to sing right. You know the teqniques that´s needed.
But even so, practicing with Within Temptation, Nightwish and of course Evanescence is very good for the voice indeed. And sodas like Sprite,Fanta etc is very good for the voice also.

I believe they exist as kinda very good karaoke on evamedia. On farther away there is the studio version and also the live version they´ve made karaoke on. Whisper is impressive. Very good karaokes. ;)

I believe that, long ago, a Lose Control instrumental was already made. But, of course, that doesn't mean that you shouldn't make one of your own! Who knows, it could even be better!
As far as the backing vocals go - I'd prefer it to be instrumental, unless you have a programme which is able to morph the voice as if it were female. Otherwise, it may sound a tad...off, in my opinion. But, that's just me; others may have their own opinion on the matter. I think that adding your own vocals only adds to the thrill of making your own cover, if you so choose to do so; I know that I'll add my own vocals to the track once it's finished, personally, for my own sake.
Also, SWQ was started by jack_lanterna (I believe it was him), but it was never finished (at least, not uploaded for public distribution). There was a brief preview of the song uploaded, but there were no updates past that point.
And Your Star was made quite awhile back - near the beginning of this thread, if memory serves. I think that it was one of the first user-made instrumentals in this thread. It was quite an awesome feat, as it was the first, near-flawless attempt at an instrumental I had ever heard on this board - however, the intro was cut short (the synth effects before the piano kicks in were passed by, probably due to inability to simulate those effects).
If you go to that one webpage by silverfriends, these instrumentals should be on the page if you'd like to check them out.
If you can't find the page, I'll be more than willing to re-upload them for you.

Lol, I thought you too already worked togheter. Well, anyway these instrumentals are the best ones I´ve heard, it´s really quality in them!
I wish I could help u with the drums. But sadly I don´t know so much about these things. Do you play real drums also? Maybe that also could be something to try.
Oh, and a karaoke version really doesn´t sound bad in my oponion. It could also be great to help people record the backing tracks for those who only have the instrumental. If you want I could help with the backing tracks.

:o that intro was beautiful, I love how you vocalize the strings that was really good. You have a nice voice but it was really loud in some parts, more than it should've been since majority of the vocals in the song are soft. But other than that it was nice :) You do backing vocals very well.
