^Those are from Boston, not NYC. (SWQ wasn't even played in NYC)
But yeah, this concert freaking pwned me. It was absolutely amazing; I had such a great time, and I got to meet all five band members afterwards :)
Rev Theory was really awesome, too. :D

i agree, katy... the NY concert rocked! It was an amazing way to end off our canuck roadtrip; i finally got to thank Amy and get a pic with her, got to talk to John about random stuff, and briefly with Tim and Terry before the show.
but the highlight of the evening was hanging out with the group after the show.... let's just say tracie plus canadians = funneh :p

definately the best concert ive ever been to - ev or not.
and i hate to be a ny elitist, but itll probably be the best of the tour.
haha. ny audiences just pwn. it's a plain and simple fact.
not to mention the roseland show was mentioned as "the show" in the abh dvd. so yeah - basically when Ev comes to NY they tear it up!
hehe

Haha IAW fearlesst15, but Boston has always rocked Ev, too.
But yeah the NY shows I've been to have been incredible. :D I forgot just how amazing and fun it was to go concert whoring for Ev lol...it's good to see them again and hang out with all you guys. <3

it's a shame that was the best pic I got. Stupid disposable camera. This lady next to me had this great digital camera and she was taking great photos with it. No one tried to confiscate it. I wanted to give her my business card so she could send me the pics.
A friend said Amy looked like "A flamingo on crack" with that skirt.

I would like to take the opportunity now to say I hate you all!! :p No not really, I'm just EXTREMELY jealous!! I wanted to go to that show so bad! I can't wait until they come back to NY and finally I'll be able to get my hands on some tickets and lose my Ev show virginity! It would be awesome to meet some of you guys too even though my mom (yes I'm an only child and my mother would HAVE to come with me since I have no older Ev-loving relatives and/or friends to take me) would get creeped out that I'm talking to random people :p

This was such an awesome show, but it went wa-aay too fast and it was such a major rush, I feel like I wasn't there... but I still remember the little funny details, being in the front, like when Amy sat to the piano and was like, "Give it up for the skirt!" LOL That was awesome, she's just almost intolerably adorable.
I love the pictures, glad to see some good quality ones, I hate myself for forgetting my camera haha. But oh well, it's all up here *points to head*.

Ok, I went to this show, and honestly, I was very disappointed. Not by the band or their performance (they rocked!), but by the audience. I was really thinking the crowd would be kinda crazy, and getting into the music. And it was quite the opposite. There were people just standing there, not even doing the obligitory emo head bop, just standing there as if they were on heroin. It was quite disappointing. So, what was up with this crowd? Is this how the last NY Ev crowd was? B/C I didn't go to the last show in NY.

well the last ny show before this one was at jones beach and the crowd was eh until ev came on and even then they werent as great as they could be because of the seats.
but the people in the front (at least the people i were with) were getting into it. singing back, headbanging, rock fists thrown in the air.
ny audiences are usually awesome. i dont know. i thought the crowd was all right until they did the "amy " chants but that happens every where all the time.

Well, where did you stand? I was up front at the barrier and let me tell you, there was craziness abound! No moshing, but major rocking out. :D
I thought the NY crowd was great. Maybe they didn't go insane but they were so into it and cheered all the time and were really enthusiastic. And that's actually a crowd I'd rather be in, than one that's just moshing and crowd-surfing all over the place. I didn't have to duck to save my head at all lol.
Roseland was good; I was at the back but I think I heard that there WAS some moshing there. Jones Beach apparently sucked ass (the audience, not Ev). I hung out with EvBoarders for the show after it, in Philly, and Amy said about four times how great of a crowd we were, and they told me afterwards that the Jones Beach show's audience was really lackluster.
So I think it depends on the venue. It's hard to rock out with seats, but it also has to involve effort.

We were probably about 5 rows back, and all the people around us were zombified. My friend lived in NY for 30+ years, and she said this was the worst concert crowd she had ever seen in NY. We both now live in AZ, and she would always tell me how much better the audiences were in NY, and then the Ev show made her look like a liar. So, she wanted me to find out what everyone thought about the NY crowd. Honestly, I go to lots of shows (in AZ), and a lot of people don't get into it, not sure why...but they don't. So, I wasn't so shocked, but she was disgusted.

I was about 3 rows back. I stood in line for 3 hours before the door opened (some people for a lot longer). Once we got inside, we stood around for more than an hour for the opening band to come on. Then, it was more than an hour before Ev hit the stage. By that time, I was squished like a sardine, by the people from the back pushing up, and the people in the front pushing back. When I put my arm up to take a photo, I couldn't put it back down because of the crowd.
I tried to head bop as much as I could, but after all standing still my back was aching. I was trying so hard to keep my balance and not get pushed under, that it was really hard to dance around. the people where I was really weren't moving at all because being pressed together like that makes movement impossible.
And, perhaps some of the crowd was stoned. I got the distinct whiff of pot towards the last 20 minutes of the show.
Also - something to consider - all the people there bought their tickets before the album came out. Maybe they didn't like the album too much.
Ginger Fish
10-16-2006, 06:12 PM
Awww, sadly, thats one of the things I considered (about disliking the cd). Because a lot of people on evboard already had bought their tickets, and ended up regretting it after the cd was leaked. Also, I figured some people probably didn't know the cd enough, because it had only been officially out for what? 6 days? Because I noticed when Sober came on some people seemed to wake up, which indicated to me that was the only song everyone knew and/or liked.
Also, the squished point is pretty valid, but still, I was squished but I was rocking out like crazy! It was uncomfortable but I wasn't going to just stand there, ya know? I didn't pay $30 a ticket, and travel across the country to just stand there and listen to Ev. I could've done that at home, for free. :p

Really? My area was very energetic, front floor on the little lip right before the barricade fence thing. The people were really nice, and lots of conversation beforehand, then the crowd got into it. All the people around me sang along, even on "The Only One" and the other new ones I thought no one would be into yet...

Well, I haven't been to many concerts where only the front 2 rows get into the show. I suppose that's what's weird. Usually even the people in the back (or in this case, the balcony) would rock out.
PoorSweetInnocentThing

My section was pretty energetic, I was in the second row floor, but I was so squished at one point I was standing one foot on top of the other one arm glued to my chest and the other in the air... the girl right next to me didn't move the entire concert and pretty much gave me wierd looks every time I touched her (totally impossible not to) hey if your not gunna rock out, dont come to the front.... everyone else around me was really fun and I rocked my little heart out in spite of the statue next to me... p.s besides the cool people around me I did not feel any energy for Revelation Theory, which was upsetting cause I thought they were good

This was my first Evanescence concert (actually my first concert ever in life), and I was like the 3rd or 4th? row back from the front (floor pit), to the left... Eh, it was somewhat energetic. I was definitely rocking and throwing my fists in the air the WHOLE time Ev was on because I liked all their songs, especially the new ones!! Even if no one around me was dancing. Gotta support the band you love! :)

Ok, see, that one girl next to you, is how EVERYONE around me was acting. And I mean as far as I could see around me, everyone just stood like statues. Shoot, I barely even saw smiles. Though I will say, there was this balding guy in his 40's in front of us, and besides me and my friend, he was rocking out the hardest. :) It was cute!

Haha. I couldn't rock out as hard as I did in Boston (in Boston I went crazy) because I was ridiculously sore from that show LOL. My neck was in some serious pain. So I headbanged as much as I could but I couldn't really rock it up like I did before...IT HURTS afterwards for like...days.
You guys that were near the front on the left probably saw me. I had long blonde-ish hair and I made it go a bit nuts. :D I was front and center, possibly slightly to the left (I had issues distinguishing what "center" was but I was close if not dead-on lol).
Haha about the looks. I gave these two girls behind me a couple of looks but that was because they were like "oh I hope that girl passes out so we can get up front" about my friend Katie who was terribly sick that day, which was not only incredibly rude but ridiculously insensitive. The girl behind me caught a water bottle that a crew member threw at me after it bounced off my face (literally; it hit my face and ricochetted backwards, haha man that hurt) and wouldn't give it back to me because, "*gasp* I got it from the STAGE! *flutter*sigh*". So I was guilty of the Looks but not because of rock-out attempts. :p

nyc crowds are pretty lame most of the time. im kinda glad though i didnt get squished too much or pushed it was a nice change. who knows why people werent into it maybe it was cuz some people just like to stand there and listen to the music and enjoy the show or some people are just not into the whole moshing/headbanging thing. Whatever the case NYC crowds from my experience are pretty tame.
Katya

I guess that means concert whoring will have to be kept to a minimum. I'll tell ya, by the time I got to the DC show I was like, "screw this" and just stood there mildly rocking out and enjoying the show from the balcony. The first two shows were enjoyable from the front, but that third show...no way. I couldn't have done that again even if I wanted to.

Those people fainting was so scary because it was so hot and I was so dehydrated, I was afraid I was going to faint... tip for future Ev concerts: bring more water
And p.s she didnt know it but her looks really just made me rock harder to make up for her...um... lack of rocking =)

Yay for hardcore us rocking out. ;) And IAW LacunaAffectus. If I had gone to Philly, I would've just had to stand there. I didn't even have a voice on Tuesday, either; it was completely shot.

Haha I was right up front. I was there at about 7:45. You might've seen me walking in and out of the garage to get to the back and stuff. I'm tall, skinny and white as a whitewashed wall (I think Amy and I should have a whiteness competition lol); I had a black spaghetti-strap shirt that said "Super Wench" on it, a black 3-tiered skirt that was short in front and long in back over a pair of jeans. And I have glasses.

ROFL. I'll have to do that then. ;) Though I'll probably be with my younger brother so I may get actual seats rather than the pit since it'll be his first concert lol. So I'll be able to pass out onto a chair if I have to ;)
EDIT: Aerdna, I have heard that they're coming back to the US around January or so. I'm hoping for a Northeast US weekend tour that ISN'T on the weekend when I move back to school/get my wisdom teeth out, but hey whatever works. ;) Who knows; we might be at the end of the tour again, so we'll have a month or two to wait.

gawd i missed a lot in the last time i posted in this thread.
hokay so...
1. fan girls behind us sucked major testicle. i wanted to hit them. including the other ones to my left and back who said "who's tracie" and then b*tched me out when i said they probably didnt know her and they were like " oh but you do because youre so cool". i just shrugged it off. i mean if they had to ask then they obviously didnt know .
2. the water bottle thing = not cool. if you get beaned in the face with it, then courtesy dictates you get to keep it. st00pid fangirlz once again
3. the security guard charging 5 bucks for water bottles that werent even his and then trying to charge 20 for the guitar pick = major a*shole. i hope he gets syphylis.
4. ny crowd at the concerts ive been too are usually really into it and excited, with the exception of jones beach.i guess it depends on the night, artist, but most importantly the venue and what area in the venue.
i mean this past summer i saw two kelly clarkson shows back to back at jones beach. the first night i was front row center and everyone around me was really into it - jumping up and down, pumping rock fists, screaming/singing. but the next night i was in guam, sitting all the way at the top with only 5 rows of seats behind me. everyone pretty much sat the whole night except for me and like 5 other random girls. i was the only one doing anything. i was trying to jump like the night before but couldnt because of the chairs and stairs.
so really, it's all dependent on sooo many factors.

I'm from NJ, and I went to NYC by myself on a bus and took a cab to the Hammerstein Ballroom by myself (since I have no Ev friends), and let me tell you... I would do it all over again if I had to!! I loved Ev's performance!

Can I just say that hearing that other people were like crazy sore is making me feel sooooo much better. I went to three shows in four days (Boston, NYC, and Philly) and was doing crazy amounts of standing, for hours on end, and walking (all over NY). I felt really bad that by the time I got to the Philly show, my back was killing me so much that I had to leave the crowd and watch the rest of the show standing against a wall. I felt like such a wimp, but I was seriously going to pass out from pain if I didn't do it.

That's an odd month to hold a tour...but whatever...preferably, I would like the NY show to be on the weekend also, or the 14th of January, because the next day I have no school for MLK Jr. Day. Man that would be perfect!!

Not really. They are touring Europe and the rest of the world between now and then so it'll just be a continuation. IIRC, in 2004 they were in Australia/Canada in January and here in February.
And NOOOO not that weekend! I move back in to school that weekend! Haha. I'm actually really hoping for a later part in the tour for us, so that I can get settled in school and then be able to take my brother to his first concert. And I'd like a non-freezing day, too. ;)

gotta love NY
I'm from NJ, and I went to NYC by myself on a bus and took a cab to the Hammerstein Ballroom by myself (since I have no Ev friends), and let me tell you... I would do it all over again if I had to!! I loved Ev's performance!
I can't wait till their next tour!
I did the same exact thing! Except I took the train..but I actually think I had so much fun because I went alone...I met really cool people to talk to and I didnt have to worry if anyone else could see the stage or was having fun or anything like that... I had such a great time
For anyone who stayed after the concert to see the band I was the girl who climbed up the pole to get autographs.. it sounds crazy when I write it here..but it wasn't at the time.. I swear =)

I hope if and when they come to the States for arenas, that they extend the setlist and add more songs, because I really feel that they should include "Cloud Nine," "Your Star," "My Last Breath," "Lose Control," and many others that were unfortunately left out of the club / small venues like Hammerstein.

I definitely wanted to hear Cloud Nine and Lose Control as well as the ones from the new album that they did play. Maybe next year. :)

Do they run shows at Jones Beach so late/early in the year...because they're going to be touring right through this year and they're supposed to be coming back after they're done with their European tour.
Hopefully, they play one at the Garden.

it was an amazing show i really dont think ill be able to see another artist because they will suck in comparison to ev, and also i wish i didnt walk around the city for 6 hours before the show, but still i had an amazing time for driving 5 hours:p

jones beach is only open during the summer so odds are if they do a big venue - madison square garden.
which would also be tres convienent for me so i wont complain. i just hate seated places but when playing a big place you kind of dont have a choice i guess.
all i want is a pit spot and a longer set if possible for the next ny show! hehe
<3 being in the pit and <3 sets that last more than 10 - 13 songs

i dont think theyd play the main arena in msg by themselves unless it was a tour with other bands. i really hope they dont play msg as one of their own shows cuz I HATE that venue. the security there are mean and annoying I hate that place. Radio city is good you pretty much ahve a good view anywhere in that place.

That statement makes no sense to me...
Do you mean something like a multiple-large-band event like Warped Tour or Family Values? Cuz in my concert experience most bands have had at least one opening act. Even during small-venue tours. So I'd think there WOULD be more than just Ev playing. Cuz, you know...that whole opening act thing.

They would sound AWESOME in radio City. We can all hope for the day when Ev can sell out MSG, but I don't see that happening for a few years.
Lacuna - I think he means as part of a larger gig (like Jingle Ball), not just a headlining band with an opener.

Here is a link - http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1542773/20061010/evanescence.jhtml?headlines=true
So, well, they said Evanescence played "Fall Into You".
Now, as far as I know, that song is a David Hodges song, featuring Amy Lee.
Did they actually play that song? Is there another song with that name?
As far as I understood, they made a mistake with the name of "Bring Me To Life" (but apparently fixed it since) and called it "Wake Me Up Inside" (which is, actually as we know, the original name of the Demo, or something like that).
So, anyway, is it a mistake, or did they actually play a song called "Fall Into You"?
New York Fans that went to that show - please, show your existence and share your knowledge.
Thank You

Fall Into You = major typo. I posted the setlist in a separate thread up at the top of this forum.
*smites them for that hugeass typo* I THINK they might have meant Haunted, although I'm having a difficult time seeing how they get "fall into you" from Haunted...or any other song they played that night. :p

I went to the show and i was at the barrier to the left, and my dad came with me but stayed by the wall. It was my first concert ever and it was the highlight of my life. i even started the amy chant and the people around me were all awesome. and the person next to me got the actual waterbottle that amy left on stage. it was so awesome and we were all totally into it. and with the line, i was right where they parted it for the garage and i got there at like 4 and i didnt get 2 stay too much later cause i live 2 hrs away (LI suburbs) and i had school the next day..and man i was beat, but it was worth it. and i probably saw a lot of u guys!

You weren't one of the girls who was screaming out stuff like "SEX" before the show, though, were you? :p Haha.
And I hear you on the school thing. I was on a train at 8 AM back to Boston for school the next day and that was way not fun...haha I stayed after to meet the band and stuff and I didn't get home until 2:30 AM. So I can totally understand you leaving.

well with the chant amy was shorter and it was my FIRST concert ever, and lol no i wasnt chanting sex, thats just not right. but my goal in life is 2 meet amy and the band. also, the next conxert should be like a bit out of the city, like nasseau collesium, cause u gotta think of us small town folks who would rather travel 45 min opposed to 2 hrs, lol. even though begging my dad to take me was completely worth it cause it was indeed awesome

Pfffft @ you! Haha two hours isn't that bad...I traveled from Boston to NYC and back to Boston :p And I would've gone to Philadelphia, too, if I wasn't worried about a possible midterm on that day. Other friends of mine went all the way from New Jersey to Boston for the Boston show and back down to NYC for the NY show.
Haha. I'm from Connecticut myself, and not too many people go there. I'm about an hour outside NYC. So I'm just used to traveling to big cities like NYC for shows. I actually really hope that they don't play Nassau because that will be a royal pain in the ass for ME to get to. At least in NYC I have the public transportation system...on Long Island, I'd have to drive and I REALLY don't want to have to do that. So...yeah, think about the people who come from all around the big cities. That's why most bands go to those places, because they're central locations for people.
EDIT: Whoa, slow down, hun. Haha. Edit your post instead of double- and triple-posting next time, okay?

I know I've asked this question like 12 times, but when do you estimate that they'll be back in the U.S.? I don't know why they'd want to come back to the U.S. (well specifically NY) after being in Australia and I would think it would only make sense for them to tour in Europe and stuff first, but I'd like an answer to this question preferably in an hour tops. This decides whether or not I'll be going to Italy in March (I have to make a payment of $1000 by tomorrow!)

12-14-2006, 08:27 PM
Well, considering that they're doing Canada, Australia, South America, etc. in January/February, I would estimate that they would be back here around March. I'm going to guess at a March/April/May US tour, though they might take a bit of a break after flying all over the world and come to us later.
The only thing to do right now is be patient. We don't know and we probably won't know for awhile. Once someone finds out, the information will be posted here ASAP, so just keep watching.
