Agree! That is really nice of him to do all this for the fund.

I know at least its something, but its only 10%.
So if it goes now, then the fund will only get like $25...

Wtf??! Amy wasn't fat! But her haircut is pretty funny :p In an adorable way of course...I thought I'd never see the day where Amy had short hair...

But yeah, that's nice of the guy to give some of the money to the foundation...

I only said fat because that's how her dad and than Amy described herself at that age :p She said she doesn't want anyone to see the pictures from that time

^I was about to say, Helena, that was awfully rude. But at least it was only a reference...you may want to edit that and put that in quotes since you didn't really mean it.

I think those pics are adorable. *had hair close to that length in 8th grade* But why is he selling the piano? She signed it especially for them and everything. They were all excited when they won, too.

It's a shame, but hopefully they get a good price for it so that the Epilepsy Foundation can get a nice chunk of it.

.

Edited: ;) btw, I am quite a big girl myself ;) I think Amy's dad said it when he posted on evboard (after Amy's childhomm photos had been posted) and Amy said in one of her recent interviews that at the time when she met Ben she was fat, had goofy hair and wore braces.

awww. that's nice that they are sending proceed to the epilepsy fund. Man, when I see her hanging out with people like in those pictures, my heart sinks. It's just amazing to see how real she is. When I see these other celebs, it's hard to imagine they have a family and do normal things, but looking at amy, you can tell she's just so grounded.

Squeee. I have so much respect for her :P

i understand he is giving a portion to charity but i still dont understand why he's selling it.

the whole new house and baby thing doesnt really explain it. i would have kept it especially after forking over quite a bit of cash for it.

it's a cool thing to have but i dont have the cash to bid for it and also part of the big draw the first time was getting to pick it up from amy and her dad.

hopefully it goes for a good amount so the epilepsy fund gets a fair amount of money.

Sadness

when i read "amy when she was 11" i was like WTF????:p

Wait for the winning bid, I'm sure that it will be higher than the current highest bid.

And like Rahul said, no contribution is small.

I wish, that would be amazing to buy that but I live in Canada, how would it be shipped? I used to actually have hair like that! My sisters called me lampshade for it too XD

I think it's nice to see it being passed around every now and then, and still getting used, and at least it's still helping Amy help others even now. And a couple of pics there I've not seen before, thanks for posting =]

*sigh* I wish I could afford to purchase something like that. And you have to give the guy his thanks for at least donating to the epilepsy fund he didnt have to actually do that. Congrats to the winning bidder thats all I can say.

10% is more than 0%. I know that's obvious but it's more than what many others would give.

Actually, that explains it perfectly. He probably didn't realize the expense of having a new house and a baby so he figured that this was the best way he could get his money back for it. When you get older, your priorities change. Probably supporting his family outweighed his love of the piano.

You guys also have to remember that the guy who is selling this, wasn't the ones who went to pick it up. His friends were the one who had the "experience" (he was on his honeymoon) while he was the one who had paid for it.

OMG when I saw that 11 year old picture I was like "that can't be real" because it seems so ...real!
But I have some doubts for the picture below where it says 1 year later. That's so impossible, because she looks so much older on it and her brother, if that's the one in front would have been way too old

wait... some guy bought one piano from Amy.....so she had two.....am I right?

EDIT: damn! I'm such a dumb!it's the same piano! so he's selling it?

You should be carefull when bidding on this. I know the guy's story is right but how do you know it's the same piano. This same ebay user has been selling fake origins, sound asleeps and evanescence ep's on ebay for months now.

I would GIVE ANYTHING to have this...but it's just too expensive what with the shipping it would cost to the UK as well.

I wonder if Amy minds them selling it on? I'm guessing she doesn't cause it's for her charity, but it's just that she worte 'look after my baby!' on it when she signed the lid. Is selling it on somewhere new really looking after it?

Just a thought ^_^

I wonder if his "free postage" covers postage to australia :)

Neejchee
10-16-2006, 11:23 PM
that "free postage" isnt actually free postage. It means there are no actual postage costs, because he wont post it. It's up to the buyer to organise collection/delivery.

idk why but seeing pictures of amy giving that piano up stuck me with such a sad feeling. The guy who bid for such a good cause deserved it but still if i was the one who could win the ebay auction...I garentee you people that that piano would be back in Amy's and her family's hands right after I won. it would make me so much happier to know they had it than anyone else. But its not like the winner of this auction is helping a cause like the first guy. But who am I kidding.. if Amy wanted it back she would have it through her own actions. ;) I couldn't imagine parting with that but we should all come together and get Amy's piano back to her! Stand with me!

Syd
10-16-2006, 11:45 PM
The guy who bought the piano can do with it as he pleases. The Lee family wasn't hugely attached to the piano. Baldwin sent Amy a new piano, and they sent her family a baby grand, so they had to make room for the new one.

So...out with the old. :)

Am I the only one who finds the carpet the funniest thing about the younger Amy picture? hehe...Notice how it's changed in the second pic.

Well, here's my two cents, although probably no one else is going to agree with me. I think the seller should have first gotten in touch with Amy and asked how she felt about him putting it back up for auction and explaining that some of the proceeds would go to that charity.

The reason why I said that is because of how Amy signed it, it seems like she was saddened by having to let it go, and wanted to make sure it was well taken care of. That piano is / was a huge part of her life.

Seriously, I don't think the family had a group cry after the piano was driven off into the sunset.

Her dad told me they were getting rid of it, anyway.

So calm down. :)

I dont see why. If I bought a piano from Jow Blog down the street, then later decided to sell it I wouldn't feel the need to ask/tell him about it. And even though we often think of Amy as something higher or more than your average person, as far as her rights over the piano go she really IS just Joe Blog down the street. lol, a much better looking and cooler Joe Blog, but hey.....

Lesley

How can Amy have parted with her childhood piano? *sob* Mind you, it may have had some horrific memories associated with it if my experience of learning the piano is anything to go by...pffrt. lol

I would never trust band memorabilia on eBay. There is no way to ever prove its real (for all you know he could've gotten those pics somewhere else), and autographs can be faked very easy.

The fact he's been selling album fakes just further makes me worry. I'd bid at your own risk =).
