Fallen: Tourniquet. The music is not bad, but the lyrics really scare me because they are too suicidal and religious for my taste.

The Open Door: Lose Control. I don't like any part of this song. I think Amy's voice is terrible in it, I find the lyrics to be a little questionable, and the music just doesn't flow real well to me throughout the whole thing.

I would honestly have to say "My Immortal".

From Fallen, I really got tired of "Tourniquet" and for some reason don't like the vibe I get from the song anymore... I still think the album is amazing though, and can listen to it in full most of the time, I just don't favor that song.

The new album is the same, I love all of the songs and think they're awesome, but I often fast foward through "Like You" when I have my iPod on... it's gorgeous, and I think it's so delicate, but often times it's too sloshy for me. Between the two songs "Like You" and "Hello," the latter is defo. my favorite.

But, I could never hate a song by them, they're my band! ;)

I honestly don't understand why everyone hates Lose Control. I really like that song! Probably one of the top 5 best on the new album! I just love the guitar in the chorus! WOOT! The first time I heard it I nearly fainted I loved it so much. Well enough about Lose Control...

Well honestly.... I despise Solitude with every fiber of my being.... That is the only song that I really actually don't like from Ev. But that is the only one.

As for others... I like all of the other songs, but there are some that I don't really listen to as much in comparison to the others. For instance, My Immortal album version. I like the band version much better.

I haven't listened to the early EPs for a while. Even then, I didn't listen to them much. Understanding was disappointing. I found, if my memory serves me correctly, that the tracks were either very poor or very, very good. I'm surprised someone mentioned Where Will You Go, and for the organ too! I think it's absolutely incredible. Like standing on the edge of a cliff...

...only without the suicidal connotation.

Moving on, from Fallen I must nominate Taking Over Me. There are some great aspects of it and I considered choosing another one. Then I realised it was those very aspects that stopped me thinking it was a very average song. So Taking Over Me it is.

From The Open Door:has to be Good Enough. I just don't like it. As soon as All That I'm Living For ends I stop the CD. Also, while I'm hesitant to say it...Your Star is a difficult one. It does little to draw you in until the choir kicks in. The forward button gets some attention.

I'm also pretty sick of Call Me When You're Sober. Over-exposure. On a side-note, I'm surprised at the dislike for Lose Control. The chorus is a little formulaic, but as soon as the 2nd chorus end it's pretty good. 'If I cut you down to a thing I can use/ I fear there will be nothing good left of you' (or something like that ;) ) was well-placed, and said what it needed to. There's genius in simplicity too.

As obsessed with Ev as I am, I despise CMWYS. This song is the worst one they have ever made. The title is really tacky and corny. There is too much going on at one time in the song. And it is just really . . . not necessarily girly but it lacked the "evanescence-ness" that I like about the other songs. I think this song should have never made it onto the album or else not have been made into a video. The first time I heard this song, I was afraid that TOD was going to be crap. I was relieved to hear that the other songs were a lot darker and harder. This is the only song I was dissapointed with. I don't exactly like My Immortal, but Ben wrote that, so it doesn't count anymore.

Pre-Fallen: Probably Where Will You Go. I love the intro but the lyrics make me DIE INSIDE. It's ranting posing as a song.

Fallen: Umm, Tourniquet? Tourniquet or Taking Over Me, if only because they've just never appealed to me.

The Open Door: Ohh, where do I begin? I have issues with Snow White Queen, so it's my least favourite by default. But other than that.... Your Star grates my nerves; the 'staaaaar's annoy me, and then the chorus seems too blah to be a chorus. Good Enough also annoys me, so those two are equal least favourite. Yeah. I don't like The Open Door all that much. Basically, I like the first.... 4 or 5, depending on my mood when I listen to it, and then I tune out the rest.

I noticed a lot of people saying Lose Control, and I get that, but I actually like the Mary Had a Little Lamb lyric. It's so crazed that it becomes awesome. Oh, but I hate 'with all the pretty flowers in the dust'. That line is a big W. T. F??

I used to listen to that song all the time, but eventually it grew tiresome and sadly a bit repetitive and annoying. So, I guess that's three who sort of don't like My Immortal, although it's not my "least liked".

We're not "stabing them in the back". We love all EV songs, or at least I do. But, some just don't appeal to me as much as others. And just because we love EV dosen't mean we should feal obligated to like ALL their songs. Not to mention, no one said they "hated" the songs. And yes, I agree, Evanescence is "freaking amazing".

I don't hate any of their songs. I just said that two are my least favorites. But I still like them, I just listen to the other songs more often on my ipod, and I never skip songs on the cd when I play it in my car. I do like all their songs and I have favorites that change each day.

Mmmm....I think I'll say Bleed ( I mus be dreaming )...the quality of this song is poor, and the lyrics are TO weird. I don't know how to say this but this song never make me feel anything...It's not like Hello for example, it give us some emotions...I think Bleed was one of the first writting of the band, and it must be for this reason. But anyway, respect to all people who like this song, It's only my opinion ;)

Like You-this song is very personal for Amy, and just to want to be someone else in a time of sadness is way personal for me too.

Lose Control-I personally love the lyrics and everything. I've always longed to lose control once in a while but never get to. I find this song very exotic and attractive, and soon enough i'm making a music video with it to a movie.


Favorite EV songs of all time

Solitude-its about obsession/love/depression/loneliness and those i'm an expert in. This song is just too powerful.

Understanding (acoustic version)- its only 3 minutes long, so its a good break from the 7 minute version, which i love also.

October-great chorus, and great lyrics.

My Last breath-this is gotta be Evanescence's best rock song. Great lyrics, great beat, needed to be a single

Field Of Innocence-beautiful, and repetitive

Anywhere-actually, i don't like this song, its only the climax i love dearly, where Amy is practically screaming

Well, I would have to say "Everybody's Fool", CMWYS and the remix of "Lies". The first 2 lack a climatic point, they just ramble on. The "Lies" remix just trashes an EV top 5 of all time song, perhaps the best EV song of all time, but that's another thread.

I really like "Lose Control". I like the contrast when she uses her voice low in songs in general vs the soaring angelic songs. I can see why others may not like the low voice songs.

Least favourites are

Forgive Me - I hate the guilt you feel here. I don't get the feeling that she had much reason to be guilty for, especially after whomever was "shouting" at her, as the song states.
Exodus- It's nice, but everyone belongs somewhere.
All That I'm Living For - I like the building up of rock, not the immediate start.
My Immortal - The only time it ever did anything for me was after a hard death of a loved one, and it made me cry 3 times, but then never really got to me again.


I can't say I dislike any of these songs, though. My God, I'm in love with every song I've ever heard by Evanescence. But these are the songs that I don't feel the need to finish before turning off my stereo if I need to go somewhere, whereas every other song it's VERY IMPORTANT to finish it. x3

Off of Fallen, I don't really like any of the songs any more...not as much as I used to, but I don't really have a least favorite...maybe "Haunted".

i don't like some of the older stuff. I actually like all the songs on TOD, and most of them on Fallen. There are parts of songs I don't like, but I can't think of any specific songs right now.

Hm...some of the older songs are kind of long, and I don't have a long attention span, but they were just learning how to write songs.

I don't listen to Fallen anymore. That album was perfect for me when I listend to it at age 13, but now, it's just too old, and The Open Door is much more mature and Ev has really grown up as musicians.
If I had to chose a least favorite song on The Open Door, it would have to be The Only One, because I don't really understand it.

I think mine would be Call Me When You`re Sober. I like it and all, it just feels more commercial, and everyone`s playing it everywhere, and so now, people are liking Evanescence just because. They don`t even listen to any of the music! And it just makes me mad.
