The first annual ROCK ON THE RANGE is set for Saturday, May 19. The all star line-up will be appearing on two stages at Ohio's Columbus Crew Stadium (Columbus, OH). Presented by Right Arm Entertainment and AEG LIVE, the heavyweight bill includes ZZ Top, Evanescence and Velvet Revolver, along with a host of platinum-selling artists. All-Star Lineup Set For Rock On The Range

March 7, 2007
As details of many of the summer's biggest festivals have been coming out over the past month or so, here's one more to add to your calendar: The first annual Rock On The Range festival, presented by Right Arm Entertainment and AEG LIVE. The big event is set for Saturday, May 19 at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, OH, and the packed bill includes ZZ Top, Evanescence, Velvet Revolver, Hinder, Chevelle, Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, Papa Roach, Buckcherry and Puddle of Mudd, plus up-and-comers The Operator and Black Stone Cherry. Even more bands for the all-day event will be announced shortly, and tickets go on sale this Saturday, March 10.

"This is a music festival that was not created with trendiness in mind. The only prerequisite at Rock On The Range is a passion for great Rock music and a good time," states organizer Del Williams. "We chose Columbus as the location for this national event because it's centrally located. And right there, in the heart of America, is where you'll find the epicenter of pure, no-strings-attached Rock & Roll." Joe Litvag of AEG LIVE added, "The idea of creating a unique rock festival in the heart of the country embraces AEG LIVE’s overall philosophy of the festival business."

Mark McCullers, General Manager of Columbus Crew Stadium, stated, "No event like Rock On The Range currently exists in the area and it has the potential to fill a tremendous void for outdoor summer concert entertainment in the future."

it's an all day thing, so im not real sure...hope its not only 30 minutes, however if it is...it's still worth it for me because i like a lot of the other bands there also. Breaking Benjamin is another favorite band of mine. i would have to say however they'll probably be 30-45 minute sets. I hope I'm wrong though

I so would love to go to this concert... I love Hinder, 3 Days Grace, Chevelle, and Breaking Benjamin.... and of course to see Evanescence again would be the main reason..

The only thing is tickets are almost $65 all together and I don't want to go if EV is only going to be on there for like 30-45 minutes...

Also it's like 10 hours away and A DAY before my graduation ceremony... I just really want to go for GRAD tho.. like it would be a gift to MYSELF! How sweet.. but I would leave like at 4pm on the 18th and not get there till 2AM the next morning and then they said the first 6,000 people get on the floor and I'm sure people will wait in line for the front.. I honestly don't know if it's worth it...

What do you guys think?

Hey there!
I just wanted to let you know that thanks to the piss poor management at Columbus Crew Stadium... I didn't even get to see the people that I bought the ticket to go see in the first place... you!
When we finally got there after a long ass 2 hour drive from KY we were ripped $15 bucks just to park..illegally. They had no one to direct traffic and we actually had to stop a cop to ask if there were any spots left... and we only got there at 2. No big deal so were out $15 bucks, but I still get to see my favorite band.
NOT! I bought GENERAL ADMISSION tickets the day that they came out... all to see just you, and ended up in the back top of the stadium, because there were no security on the stands to help keep people out of the isles... So to even think I was gonna get close to the stage was a joke.. and the tiny tiny screen they provided didn't do **** from that far away..... I planed on going in there finding my spot on the floor and staying there until you came on and not leaving.... BUT to my ****y surprise... I couldn't even get down to the floor section because some jackass gave the idea to give bracelets to the first however many that came in... and the floor stood half empty. More than half empty... Where on any website or ticket does it say that only a certian amount of people get to go to the floor level... I thought it was general admission... guess not. SO... I went to the back to find a seat... since i couldn't get through the unmanaged wave of people that blocked every other way i tried to go.... needless to say, in the back of a stadium like that, you can't hear ****, let alone see ****. So being in the pissy mood that me and my boyfriend were both in... we left... disapointed. This was supposed to be a birthday gift to me, and well... it got ruined. Not only are we out $100 bucks for the tickets... but I'm seriously upset that I didn't even get to see the band that I came there for. Being someone that lives paycheck to paycheck.. I don't know if I'll get the chance to see you when you come around again... had I known... i would have told my boyfriend to save the money for the family values tour. Now I doubt i'll have any chance to go...:bangshead:
ANYWAY- just thought you would love to know how crew stadium ****ed over not only me, but most of your fans... I'm sorry that I missed you guys.. I'm sure it was a badass show. Still have nothin but love for you!:mad:

So I LOVED the concert!!!!! maybe because my group got lucky like a million times... first of all when we first got there it would have taken us easily like 3hrs to get in... BUT we followed a swarming group of ppl that ended up taking us right into the gates.... and we basically cut in front of 20,000 ppl... good thing it took a while for people to catch on. Even though I wasnt on the floor by the stage... I was still happy with the performance, cause it sounded good, and I could basically see her cause I wasnt COMPLETELY far away even though I was up in like the second level... I just enjoyed singing along... I was SOO excited!

The concert was awesome. Amy sounded great, and so did the band. I almost got to get an autograph and a picture with her, but unfortunately had to leave before she came out to sign anything or get any pictures (if she did). So it was kind of bittersweet. I had a lot of fun throughout the whole concert, but unfortunately didn't get the autograph or picture with Amy I was hoping for. Though I did get an autograph from the lead singer of Breaking Benjamin, and saw him a few times throughout the concert, so that was pretty cool since they're a favorite band of mine as well. :D

After they played WOTW (their first song) amy introduces will and troy and announced that this was her first performance as a married woman. Also, when they played My Immortal a lot of people got their lighters out. It was awesome! They rock pretty sweet! It's hard to describe, they just did such a good job. I'm so glad I finally got to see them in concert.

Honestly I thought they were gonna get booed alot cause of the type ppl seemed like the old rockers and three days grace and buckcherry crowd.. But to my surprise there were ALOT of fans there and the drunken ppl were even dancing along and singing... it was great... especially when everyone brought out their lighters on my Immortal. It was soo pretty

I almost went to the concert, but decided it was too far for me (like a 7 hour drive). I'm glad now I didn't go because I probably wouldn't have been up front. Oh well, at least I got to be up front for one concert & meet them. Hopefully I can be up close for the FVT.

For the most part I thought Will and Troy did a very good job. It was their first performance with ev and all and I'm sure they had to be under a LOT of pressure. I actually think they made the whole show sound more metal like. I dunno, it just sounded more grindy to me. Espescially on Lithium. I loved it. BMTL was like the bliss mix, but without the backvocal and that surprised me how after "frozen inside..." Amy just went back to the chorus. I just wish I could've gotten closer. The people I was with kept holding me back and keeping me from having a great time like I paid 68 dollars for.

Yea I think Ev was the only band that didn't have people rushing for the stage. Although it was great to watch, it was nice bnot constantly being distracted during the band that I was there to see.
