Ok I made this topic for the people who hurt their selves by rocking out with Evanescence.

Yesterday night I hurt myself by rocking out to Ev. I hurt my neck. LOL.

Ohhh yes. I've hit myself in the face with a "microphone" a.k.a. hair brush many times, and I once pulled a muscle in my neck. I was pretending that I was performing Lacrymosa in front of thousands of screaming fans. :D

Hahaha I wasn't on right then...but yes, I have hurt myself rocking out to Ev MANY TIMES. The most recent one was, of course, headbanging to the Sweet Sacrifice video here...two minutes of that hardcore stuff left me sore for two days.

But when I saw Ev in Boston/NYC in October....ooooh lord. Boston itself made my neck and shoulders really sore; I was STILL sore for NYC and rocked out anyway...I had no voice and could barely move my neck (yes it hurt that bad) for three or four days. When I saw them in July 2004 in Philly, it wasn't as bad...I only hurt for a day and a half or so. Maybe because I had short hair back then LOL.

So yes. I have endured quite a bit of pain because of Ev. :p Hahaha. It was worth it, though ;)

Oh, man. After the concert I went to.. Afterwards, my voice was really retarded, although that wasn't too bad - I mean, I was singing my head off (hmm, that doesn't sound quite right, but screaming my head off implies just screaming, and I was actually singing, although lucky it was loud, cuz I'm not entirely sure I was in key.. :p) so what do you expect. But when I woke up the next morning I couldn't stand up right; I felt like I'd been drugged. And my arm/shoulder hurt really bad, too. I guess I just went a little TOO nuts and since I've never done anything like that before it was kind of hard on me, haha. But man, was it worth it. I fully had one of the best nights of my life, and I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat. :)

Yeah, the concert in Toronto in January. I was on the floor section so I got there really early and like stood for 6 or something hours. Yes, I know there's ppl that stood for a longer period of time but I wasn't really used to standing for long periods of time. And then, I was waving my arms and such during the concert and my arms were crazy tired. But still, one of the most exciting nights of my life :D

I've hurt my voice/throat singing along with countless Evanescence songs. Amy's range is a tiny bit higher than mine at times, so yeah... anytime I sing most of Evanescence's songs for a long period of time I wind up with a slightly sore throat and a shaky voice. :p

Once I was at my friend's house, she put "Fallen" on the radio, and I kept headbanging for a while, and my neck really hurt in the end...for a while...so did my back. Ouch :p

And once, during a vacation (often in the morning, when I dress up I'd put on some music), I was walking and headbanging at the same time...not such a good idea, since I accidently banged my head a little to the closet...it hurt. And a poster of the band really gave me a look like "ha ha ha". :p

PS: I have been at a concert once...it didn't hurt me in the end...at all...the day after I was hyper, at the end of the day after I was almost sleeping during class. My voice was normal too...not during the night itself, but the day after, my voice was pretty normal... :confused:

I was at the park (bored as all hell) and swinging on the swings, listening to my mp3 player. I was just singing along to every song I have on that thing(which is all Ev...haha), when CMWYS came on. I was just swinging normally, but when I sung,

I accidentally jumped off the swing. Not sure how or why, but I was swinging really high, and I jumped off. I landed on my side, then I tried standing up, and then my sister kicked me in the back because she was on the swing next to me, so I fell onto my front. In rocks, mind you. So, instead of sounding normal, it was this:
"You never call me when you're sob--aaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!! *horrid crashing sound* Crap, I'm okay! ...Only want it cause it's over........aaah, oh crap, I fell down again!

Then I got back on the swing and resumed singing the normal version.

Oh yes, I have hurt myself quite a few times, though never anything serious. I don't tend to severly hurt my neck headbanging (I make sure I vary the way I do it ;) ) but if I'm getting really into it, and I'm trying to headbang and jump around at the same time, I tend to fall over and slam into furniture. I remember I fell into my wall-length mirror-wardrobe once and knocked it off its wheels, and it really hurt.

Well, I wasn't the guilty party. I was at a girlfriends house and we put "The Open Door" on. We decided to be stupid and run around the pool naked, jumping and dancing to the music (don't ask, we had a little too much to drink). Eventually she fell in the pool, and I wanted to help her out (she said she wouldn't pull me in, and stupid me, I believed her). She did end up pulling me in, but I slipped sideways, and was kinda dragged into the pool on my right side along the cement. This was a few days ago, so I've still got a long raw scar/bruise on my right side, all the way from just above my hip to just above my knee! Needless to say, I couldn't wear jeans or pants for a few days, lol.

The day after the Fresno concert (Which Ruled beyond belief!), I was happy I was not hung over, but I couldn't figure out why I was so sore. It took me a while, but then I realised, I was Rockin Out for about 3-4 hours Straight! Haa haa haa...I'm pretty sure I gave myself whiplash as I could not move my neck/head in Any direction, I couldn't lift my arms more than a 30 degree angle (because they were up rockin the horns and fists for about 4 hours Nonstop!), my lower back was Killing me from standing in line since 3pm, my Calves were Exhausted and sore from jumping around, and my knees felt like they were gonna cave in. So...yeah...I'd say I've ****ed myself up pretty good listening to Ev. Haa haa...

When you bang your head to the music up and down with effort and passion!:p Sometimes if you get really into it, it can get violent and stressful, or if done for a prolonged period of time, can start make your neck hurt really bad, giving you whiplash. Normally those symptums occur the next morning when you wake up.

Technically I haven't gotten any injuries rockin' out to Ev, although I did get bodychecked during the Toronto ACC show (during the openers) that left me with a massive bruise on my leg / hip.

And when I first got my TOD cd, upon trying to open the plastic wrap I made a fumble (and tried to catch it). Ofcourse as swift as I am, I caught the cd, but nailed my head against the corner of an open kitchen cabinet door.

Just last weekend, actually. While listening to "Sweet Sacrifice," "Sober," "Weight of the World," "Lose Control," and "Your Star," I managed to hurt my neck from headbanging too much. It hurt like hell. By the end of "Your Star," I thought I was going to pass out, LOL. My neck felt like it was made of cement, or something like it. While sitting down, I could barely hold my head up and it was also difficult to turn my head in either direction. When I got up the next morning, it was stiff and even more sore. It actually still hurts a bit now - only when I move my neck to look down, though.

Maybe I'll learn from that. NOT. :rotflmao:

Also, after the concert back in January, my voice was shot by the end of the night. It was sore and hoarse, but I got it back within a couple days.

I've also tripped over myself while listening to Ev, wacked my knee off my dresser, stubbed my toes on my bed (and a few tables too!), walked / rocked into walls, slipped on the hardwood floor ... NOTE: if you rock out to Ev on hardwood floor with socks on, well, then you're just asking for it. :p

My tally from the CT show: bruised knees and arms (yay for barricades lol), hurt neck/shoulders, partial lost voice, sore legs (from jumping up and down and standing on tiptoe half the time to headbang). Worth it? Um, duh. Twice over. ;)

This really fat dude lost his balance and fell completely onto the front of my extended leg. I ended up passing out from the pain and was carried out of the pit. Security was asking me if I needed an ambulance when I finally came back to reality..... I didn't want to miss Evanescence, so I got a bag full of ice.....hobbled my way up to the seats (nobody was in the seats at this particular concert....so, I was all by myself cuz I had lost my friends in the pit 20 minutes prior). Placed the ice on my knee to help deaden some of the pain......and watched the Ev concert with tears rolling down my face. (Ended up just being a severe knee hyperextension.....but doctors originally thought I had tore ligaments). Oops!

Hi, I saw Evanescence on, January 16th/07. I not really able to stand for more then three hours, or sit, because of all the surgerys I have gone through on my spine. I already new it was going to hurt, and that I would be in alot of pain the next day. But I saw them anyways!!:) Seeing them live, has left me the most incredible memorie, I will have for the rest of my live!! There is No word that can ever say, how perfect the whole night was!!:D I can tell you, I was on alot of pain killers the next day, but it was just all worth it!!;) I bought my tickets the very first day they went on sale!!!:p I am just so greatfull, I was able to be apart of the most phenominal show!! Well I had never 'rocked out' to Ev, until I read this thread (hey that kinda rhymes!). I decided to try last night (i never dance in anyway. i just kinda stood there at the Family Values concert). While doing the whole 'punch the air thing', I shed some blood, due to the fact that I punched myself in the mouth. Also I tried headbanging and realized it is not my thing- i woke up with such a sore neck this morning I'm never gonna do that again.

I now have much more respect for all the bands that actually do stuff like head-banging while singing. I can't even do one at a time! No wonder they don't sound the same as they do in the studio.

This one time before I graduated, I was riding the bus and listening to Evs at the same time; then I saw someone getting ready to get up so I panicked a little and stood up. This is what happened: I snapped my headphones, swore outload, stepped out into the aisle then the bus came to a complete stop and I went flying forward and then I accidentally left my CD on the bus. So, it was a great experience.

Also, I like to put an Evs CD in the DVD player while I clean so I can sing along and so that it doesn't seem so boring whilst I clean. I've always said that I wanted to die to 'Missing' and the other night I almost did!

Me and my friend were outside at 2 in the morning drinking beer and dancing to Ev songs- Missing came on and in y semi-drunk state I became so absorbed in the music that I fell.The beer bottle broke and I landed on it- slicing through my wrist- it took me a fe seconds to realize what was happening- I don't know how I stopped the bleeding but somehow I did *relieved*- it took my friend standing on my arm to get enough pressure though- I honestly don't know how it all happened but it was a little scary- oh and get this we had the song on repeat and after like the 5th time, right at 'can you stop the fire' I realized the bleeding had stopped-

Well... so yeah...
