I just can't go past Amy's voice. It's incredible... she has such depth to it, and draws such incredible emotion from every lyric she sings, which is quite unique. So, that's why I chose Amy... HOWEVER...

Evanescence aren't just Amy, and I think the whole band is awesome. After all...
what would the band BE without John, Terry, Rocky and Tim?

So, I guess, really, it's a bit of an unfair question in that regard. We may all have our preferences, but at the end of the day, the band are as great as they are because all of its members work so well *together*.

I know it's a bit naff to automatically just say Amy, but it was her voice that made me fall in love with the band in the first place. I've got to admit, when Ben left, I really didnh't think the band could survive, as I'd always been under the impression that Ben was the chief songwriter, but The Open Door really showed me how much Amy had to say herself and has made me love her as a musician so much more. The Open Door shows real growth in the band, both lyrically and musically, and it's all come from Amy. She is the heart and soul of the band and they've become all the stronger now she's the main focus. Hurray for Amy!!! :)

I picked Ben. He made the lyrics artistic and sophisticated. They were easier on the ears than the all out confessions in each song that Amy wrote with Terry. In style, Amy's writing is very simplistic, which isn't a bad thing necessarily, but too much of a good thing... well, you know. I can't say I care for Terry's addition to the band. He's insane on the guitar, and I love him for taking Ben's place and filling his spot well as far as playing goes, but the lyrics just aren't at the same calliber as they were on Fallen. Before Fallen, even.

But, then I picked Amy too. Ben and Amy like Oingo Boingo. Oingo Boingo is love.
