The 3 headliners are getting annonced tonight at 7:30 and tickets go on sale tomorrow I believe.

Fingers crossed I get to go :)

When I was chattin with terry he said he wanted to play some festivals and i said play download..he asked what it was and explained and said ev played back in 03, he said he sure wanted to play it!!!

I think it's rediculous how they're selling tickets with just THREE bands confirmed. I mean, if I only wanted to go see ev and they were only rumoured to be there, I wouldn't be too happy if I found out like a week before they arent playing..
But anyways, it's more the fact I couldn't be b othered having to go through the process of selling my ticket etc haha.

It would be cool if they were playing. And I really hope they play Your Star!!! THat would get the crowd goin, specially all the annoying people who don't like them coz they're (the people not ev) "so hardcore" pfft to them.

According to that site... "Donington Park, right next to East Midlands Airport Donington Park lies where the three counties of Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire meet."
Basically in the middle of the country.

I bought my ticket the second I got back from last years festival I go every year and Ev will get a good reception just ignore the Download Forums they are minority and a miserable bunch at that who believe there so metal they have lost track of what good music is :D

Also they reckon the next lot of bands will be announced in 2 weeks (deffo before end of feb) so lets hope Ev is one of em :D

3) Download costs an absolute fortune

5) DOWNLOAD COSTS AN ABSOLUTE FORTUNE.

I'm going to wait a few weeks to see how the bill is looking...and I'll maybe try and start planning how such a trip could be feasible.

ye kinda same as you im 18 i've got car but ive only been driving since october of last year and never been on the motorway before and i live near London so i will need to go on them........im no good with directions either so i would end up getting lost!

There's no day tickets no sale yet this year (that's if they do them at all) and no bands apart from the headliners have yet got a solid date or stage so I'd sit tight.

OMG, I nearly had a stressy there coz my friend who was sposed to go to manchester in November with me is going to DL and she doesnt even like Ev that much and she's like practically laughing in my face because she get's to see them before me!
I know it sounds really pathetic, but I'd rather pay a fair amount to go see just EV than LOADS to see Ev at a festival full of bands which mostly I dont like.

At least it'll eventually be shown on TV. Ev's DL07 set won't be as long as an arena one, so gonna save up for a couple of those instead. For the £145 (+£10) DL07 tickets, I can take in at least 2 arena dates including travel!!

I've just put two and two together really. I mean, they've announced Download, I've been told by a band member they are doing a Manchester make up gig and it has been said in many interviews by Amy that 'We are touring Europe in the summer'. :)

June/July/August is always festival season.

I know it's been said that they'd play a few UK dates around Download but it wouldn't surprise me if they went and did more festivals around Europe first and then came back and did some shows.

For me at least, I'd prefer if they did a tour around August, seeing as there are almost never any good gigs going on around August because bands are doing festival tours at the time.

Apparently they normally say that if they don't sell out, they will have day tickets, and they don't sell out on just weekend tickets so they always have day tickets :].

for those of you worried about getting to download, it's really easy. if you check the official site there's a coach company that does buses from all across the uk to donnington. check and see if theres a stop near you. if not the train is easy. there's shuttle buses running from 2 nearby train stations (i forget the names of them tho), failing that theres always a taxi.

we should organize a ev meet at some point. those of us who are going for the whole weekend coul meet on the thursday, if not then the sunday before they play so we can work our way to the front together!

i really hope the manchester gig isn't the monday after DL as someone said it might be! i dont want to have to leave early on sunday night to make it back in time for the gig the next day!

They havent cancelled the tour, hell we don't even know if there is gunna be a tour around June anyways. They WILL be coming back to the UK eventually, I mean why shouldnt they, even if it isn't in june?
But it's just the apparent rescheduled date thats well, not happening, or at least not at the moment.

Hopefully they just are doing download and will continue with a tour later WITH a make up show for last november, but that's just dreaming for ya lol:rolleyes:

hmm probably not, but it would be ace! it was technically a single so you never know. last year when korn played jonathan was ill so didn't sing. instead they had several guests. if the same happens again (it would be the end of Korn at DL for a start) amy should def do thoughtless lol!

hehe, im sure you be able to download it if people record it. BUT i know every years they have a webcam set up on the download fest website facing the main stage so on sunday you be able to watch the concert via webcam.

the webcam won't always be HQ depending on the weather.

BUT they will be HQ vids if they put evanescence on the hightlight show and as they playing on main stage there is a good chance they will get on the show :D, im just hoping and praying they wont get bottled but i think i gotta face it, i think they will :(

I'm not going download for several reasons, A Levels, Download's a ripoff, only about 5 bands I want to see that I haven't already...

Not to mention that £50 would get a whole weekend ticket a most European festivals. For about the same amount Download would cost me I'm going to a different festival abroad.

And looking at the line-ups I'd probably be torn between Ev and Dream Theater. Actually, if they do play at the same time, Ev might just be a little safer when it comes to bottles being thrown, although doubtless there will be some assholes, but there's not much you can do about them.

If you do see someone doing that, please don't be stupid and try to argue with them. It might seem the right thing BUT by the time ev will have played people will have been drinking and you could end up getting yourself in a mess and missing the band you went to see.

well the fact of the matter is, people always get bottled at download, no matter how big the fan base is. if there's a few metal purists who don't like the band, they show it by throwing bottles... that aren't always empty (some have urine in:eek: ) nightwish got bottled a bit, HIM got bottled A LOT, as did funeral for a friend. as alesurya said if it happens, don't rise to it. im sure the band can cope with it, they know that they have fans there.

The order of the headliners surprised me somewhat. I'm obviously really impressed that Evanescence are just under Maiden, but I'm confused as to why Marilyn Manson is playing after Slayer.

I'm still hoping against hope for day tickets, because I'd love to go along on the Sunday, but I really don't think Download are going to release day tickets this year. :(

You just buy one day ticket for the day :].

no download doesnt work like that. the only chance you really have of meeting them is if they're in the signing tent, which i dont know if they will be. they should be but not every band is. then if they are you have to queue for ages and you may not get to meet them. a few mates of mine queued to meet nightwish the other year but they stopped letting people through before they got stuff signed. they were going to be the next ones through and everything but they just stopped them and nightwish left.

something really rare happened to me last year, i met cristina scabbia randomly out in the field of the main stage. i didn't ask for her autograph coz i already have it from a gig, but i spoke to her for a bit. maus was there too. but i very much doubt that will happen with ev amy just couldn't walk round a festival on her own, or even with ritchie. i think the guys could get away with it tho, you never know!

but no, its not like a gig where you can wait round back for the band to come out.

Lol - That's the same situation with me - I'm 18 but I got on the train to manchester & (somehow) ended up in London! So, no, I need to go in a group. Also, I'm skint, so you lucky people need to report every detail of the festival with photographic evidence!

I was sitting there reading Kerrang at Europa Pools before whilst my little Russian girl; Tanya was in the baths and I was going 24 dayssss to my dad over and over :§smile:

It's only the mainstage that is outside. If I remember rightly, they have two huge screens either side of the stage and one big screen halfway down the crowd.

you can never be sure about the weather so be prepared for anything! last year was so hot and everyone got burnt. remember to take lots of strong suncream and a hat incase. there's hardly any shade near the main stage... or elsewhere really, other than the 2 tent stages. thats the only shelter too so if it rains, it rains and youre gonna get soaked! last year there was a massive thunder storm on monday morning as we were trying to get packed up. yup we all got wet and ill!

i dont even have my bleedin ticket yet!:| im going to london tomorrow so i have to wait til my funs recover from that, shoul be able to get it next week tho.

I can get a direct flight from Inverness (where I live) straight to the East Midlands airport which is like a half hour journey from the Download site :D Otherwise I would have had to take an 8 hour bus journey, and I didn't really fancy that even if it was ALOT cheaper than a flight :p

Yeah, I'm much further away. I'm up on the North-East Coast. If I were to get a bus down to Download, it would take me an entire day because no bus I can find (nor train) goes direct. To fly direct it's only taking me just over an hour :) So it's a big time saver but guzzles my money quicker, lol.

I was mulling over ther lineup for this year's Download festival. Now I have no problem with the bands that are playing - in their own ways they are all great bands, but I did notice one little problem. The lineup for Sunday is totally awesome with real hardcore metal bands, who have real hardcore metal fans, bands such as Iron Maiden, Killswitch Engage, Lamb Of God among others.
The problem is that they have gone and put Amy Lee and her mediocre rock band between all these great bands. Surely that is asking for trouble, there's nothing worse than an angry mob of metal fans hurling bottles of piss, as Panic! At The Disco will tell you. Just thought I would let you know, so you can warn Amy Lee to get her umbrella ready.

They're playing on the main stage. Yes, people will try to bottle them. Why? Because they're a bunch of immature twats. But the chance of any of the band actually getting hit isn't big, since the stage is so big and the crowd is a little far from it. I think Iron Maiden fans a pretty respectful of that kind of things. However, I do believe a bottle of piss can fly pretty far!

Hehe thanks, but for now it's just a work experience post, unless they decide to keep me on. But I'd def do an article on Ev if I ever got the chance to! Kerrang! had a little feature on recent Ev news (as I'd been expecting them to for a while) and although it was hardly complimentary, it wasn't as harsh as it could have been, either.

Yeah I heard about some initiative they were running to let people know that bottling will NOT be permitted, and apparantly could get you evicted from the crowd. Too right, imo! If this is this the case then hopefully it won't mean bands going off. IT'll all be fine guys!

I love the idea of customized Pirate Ships; and yes, even if our sea isn't built in time, we shall need our ships incase it rains.
Or else; someone very tall cries, like on Alice In Wonderland :].
They will be awesome!
Like proper Ev Pirate Flags. And we would have it playing Ev music constantly.
And it would have a special thing on it so nobody could ever get sea sick.
And a cupcake shooter; so we can kill all of the metalheads who don't like Ev with cupcakes and sprinkles, or at least soften them up abit :).
