Tickets will go on-sale on Saturday, January 27, 2007.

Chevelle (http://www.chevelleinc.com/) and Finger Eleven (http://www.fingereleven.com/) will join Evanescence on this tour.

Evanescence is also planning a third U.S. leg which will bring the band to arenas in major markets in the late spring/early summer.

I might be able to go to this! :D W00t! I'd have to get a ride because I don't know of any trains that run into Hartford from Boston, but I'd love to go. (Haha the one time when not bringing my car up to school is a nuisance is a time like this)

I swear I was so shocked...Ev hasn't been to CT in FOREVER (because we fail at life with our hip hop and SUVs lol).

Who else will be rockin' in CT?

Tracie

If I can go to any, this will be the one I"m going to. WTF @ no shows near NY/NJ or Philly.

And I think ev hates me. Finger 11 & Chevelle? Those are pretty much my two least favorite bands to see live. ugh. *sigh>

Katya
01-19-2007, 01:26 PM
Well, there will be the second round in the early summer, Tracie. So I'll bet they'll hit up all those places then. WTF @ them coming nowhere near Boston, too...guess our END Tour Revisited will have to happen next time ;)

I'm still surprised they're playing CT. Haha.

I didn't read that far in...LOL!. After seeing Finger 11 & Chevelle, I stopped.

I really want to go to this one since it's closest to me, but if I can't go, I'll just wait until they come back to NYC.

Oh no...I think the Dodge Center ONLY has seats. No pit. *dies* HOW CAN THERE BE NO PIT?!

http://www.livenation.com/venue/getVenue/venueId/689

Here's the venue's official site; click on View Larger Seating Area. Water and outside food is allowed in, as are disposable cameras (sometimes).

Mmk if I'm going to go to this thing, I definitely want front and center. kthx. WTF @ no pit. CT fails at life >.<

I just called the venue. For the upcoming MCR show they have a General Admission pit for the first 10 rows and assigned seats start in Row L. So, I assume Ev's setup will be similar and there will be a small pit. Sounds fun!

Katya

...It's still seated, though. Yes?

Oh well. I'd be happy with a little pit. *is so getting front and slightly to the left*

This one is the closest to me. It's on a Saturday too, so it doesn't interfere with anything.

I'd love to go to this. I don't know if I can, but I'll try.

And most of it is seated, unfortunately.

I'm like 98% sure I'll be going to this one, along with Katy and Sarah (Draconian). And Tracie, if you came, that'd be fantastic! Because we love Tracie. :D

Hopefully when they come back AGAIN the dates and locations will be better, but as long as I get to see at least one show, I'm happy.

Close to 3 hours away by train from NYC. Probably worth going. Me and my buddy will probably do it. Although I'm pretty sure their 3rd leg will include a visit to NYC.

evclub will announce presales on monday

I am definitely going to this concert! I think there is a small pit section, according to this seating chart-
http://www.ticketmaster.com/seatingchart/237642/12737

Plus, MCR is selling GA-pit section tickets for their concert at this venue. :)

I think I am almost definitely going to this one, the date is actually perfect! That's the weekend I start my spring break :) It actually might be a good thing for me that there's seats because I'm going with my mom, and I don't think she wants to go in the first place so luckily she'll be able to sit down. And maybe I'll bring a friend along too since she likes Chevelle and maybe I can make an Ev fan out of her too ;) Also, does anyone know if there are any hotels around there?

Katya
01-21-2007, 10:46 AM
What? EvClub gets a special presale? >.< Grr @ them. We'll get screwed out of seats that way.

Anyway, yeah, I'm going and my brother will probably come, too :) It'll be his first concert ever.

omfg.

im getting tickets for this asap.

OMFG.

even if evclub does get a pre sale doesnt mean that everyone there is from ct.!!

so we still have a chance for hot seats...

and what are the tickets gunna prolly sell for?

30.50?

:p

Katya
01-22-2007, 10:20 PM
According to the Ticketmaster site, they're $35. Add on all the charges and **** that Ticketmaster adds to everything and you're looking at about $45. Considering the size of the venue, that's actually not bad.

CrackedOutLithium
01-22-2007, 10:21 PM

So they're avaliable to purchase now?

I'm going to NYC the day before, after probably attending one out of three classes (still debating that), and spending the night at a friend's house. Then we're heading up to Hartford Saturday sometime. She's buying me my ticket and I'll pay her back when she does.

$45 isn't bad at all.

theyre not on sale YET. the evclub presale is wenesday 10am actual sale is friday 4pm for non evclub members. compared to other bands/artists ev's ticket prices are pretty reasonable. they could get away with charging more but they dont. i just hope it stays like that when they play the big cities lol.

If you're on EvClub, you get a pre-sale password that is effective on Wednesday. If not, you have to wait until Saturday (though the Ticketmaster site says 4 PM on Friday).

EDIT: n1knyc beat me to it lol.

Ahh so it's Wednesday. Okay. My friend is part of EvClub, and I've been bugging her nonstop to get my ticket when she buys hers (haha sorry..) so even if we don't get GA, we'd still be relatively close to each other. Thanks for the info. :)

I'm so hoping for GA tickets though. I hope they're offering it for the show. I wouldn't see why they wouldn't have a small GA..

Yeah this is the only show I can go to. Glens Falls is more than two hours away from me and I don't have any way of getting there, plus I think it interferes with school. The Rhode Island show definitely interferes with school.

So this one is my best bet. :)

And I'm really really hoping I get my picture with Amy this time. I didn't get one in Canada, and I was kinda disappointed at that. But eh, if I don't I'm going to try in the summer..

I wonder if the band will come out after the show. But I don't know if we're staying after the show ends.

yeah, I only found 1 pit ticket by searching under "best available" from Ticketmaster. But I needed two GA tickets. So I bought 2 on eBay for $150. That's $75 a piece.

But you know what? On Ticketmaster, it's $35 for the ticket, $32 for the obligatory EvClub membership included during pre-sale, and $8 for Ticketmaster's stupid "fees".

So one ticket still would have been $75!

It had a strange date for the day the tickets go on sale...if you look it says they don't go on sale until Friday, February 9th at 4 PM. Which is weird.

I would try buying them anyway; if it doesn't work, try calling the venue and being like 'um wtf' lol.

I have a question for those of you who have pit tickets. Well, it's kind of more of a favor. My brother might come to this (though he doesn't know I've gotten him a ticket yet *sneaky*), but there's a possibility that he'll have a competition for his percussion group that afternoon. That would mean that he wouldn't be able to get to the venue until like...6 PM or so.

I think that the GA pit is just seated rows that aren't assigned, so I'd just stick a coat on a chair for him or something. But would you guys mind terribly if he came late and hung out with me in line? I'm going to get there kind of early myself, but he won't be able to get out of the competition if he has one.

as long as yall are not in front of me i wouldnt care lol jk :P i dont think anyone should mind thats your brother. some people just cant make it as early as others. you dont need anyones permission or approval to have your friends join u.

the only thing that bugs me is when people show up at the last minute with like 10 more people that decide to cut and get in the front and totally disregard people that have been there all day. THAT really pisses me off.

Katya
01-27-2007, 12:33 PM
Yeah I hate that. When like one person shows up early and then six more people come right before the doors open.

It's only one person and there won't be a lot of us who are there for GA (like three rows or so of us as opposed to an entire venue-full of people lol), so I thought it wouldn't be too bad. But some people don't like it for even one person, so I thought I'd check with you guys first.

CrackedOutLithium
01-27-2007, 12:37 PM
i dont think itll be a big deal as long as u at least tell the people behind u so they dont give u attitude lol i usually let people know that i have a few friends coming so they dont get mad when they show up. i dont really hold peopls spots anymore though. i use to and they would show up an hour before the show when id bet here all day theyd be like 'sorry i woke up late' or i was busy im like well yeah i couldve been busy too. so now people who wanna be in line with me have to wait with me lol.

yeah. if u didnt get tickets that say GENERAL ADMISSION PIT AREA u wont be in the pit. if it just says General admission ull be in seats after the pit. the pit should be a few rows or so i dont know how big it is cuz i called and they didnt have any info on that yet they said.

Katya
01-27-2007, 12:45 PM
Mine say "General Admission" but then say "Pit1" as the section. That's the same thing as pit, right?

yeah that's what mine said too. it was weird though becuz at first it wouldnt show pit tickets when i checked pit general admission then i put best available and they showed up. i was getting pissed cuz they were telling me NO and i was like THATS IMPOSSIBLE! lol i was having a heart attack. and yeah i hate seated venues which is probably why i wont go to the bigger arena shows next tour it wont be as fun.

Oh crap. I guess I'll try to fish for different tickets because the first two times I tried, I got the same result and they both said 'Pit 2', but one of the tickets would be General Admission, and then the other said General Admission Pit Area, and I cannot have that happen because I have to stay with my mom for the whole show. Now I really really really want an older sibling...grrrrrr....

Katya
01-27-2007, 01:14 PM
Okay, I went on the Ticketmaster site and got info about the venue (which also is on the website itself if you search for it on Google).

There are approximately 6,200 seats located in the
covered pavilion and are generally sold as reserved.
The lawn accommodates up to 18,000 people and is sold as General Admission. There are no physical seats on the lawn. There is a platform for guests with accessible needs.
The lower pavilion is comprised of 26 rows. Sections
100 and 300 begin with row A. Section 200 is the
centermost section and has 3 additional rows closest
to the stage. These additional rows are removed for
events that offer a General Admission "Pit" area. Mid and Rear pavilion sections are numbered 400 through 800 and are comprised of 27 additional rows. Double lettered rows are mid-pavilion sections and triple letter rows are rear pavilion.

So the rows are removed so it's an actual pit. YAY! And they are up front.

Also, on the Ticketmaster page, it lists four sections - the rear, middle, front, and GA Pit Area. If lawn seats were available, it would have said so and just listed them as plain old GA. So I think we're all good in terms of pit. :)

The number can be found here: http://www.ticketmaster.com/h/customer_serve.html

You should pick Connecticut for the state. It'll give you the number for the Hartford area. It'll be long distance for you though..

I hope you can figure everything out.

Just to put all your minds at ease, the pit is actually pretty big in Hartford. I have been there for many many shows and it is always really good. For all the girls who are worried because of their height don't worry about it because the floor is on an angle and the further back you are the better you will see. Also when you first enter the pit area you get a wrist band that lets security know you belong in the pit. You then enter the pit on stage right which is usually very crowded. If you get through the crowd the middle and stage left sections are usually pretty empty. There are more than 3 rows removed for the pit also. I would say it holds approx. 750 people and it is not devided into sections like the tickets may lead you to believe. It is just a wide open floor and probably the best place to be at any show there. I hope you all have a great time there.

750 people in the pit? omg that makes me not wanna be in it lol and when they let you in do people just stampeed to the pit and crush everyone? im really NOT looking forward to that.

No they don't stampede in. It sounds like alot of people but there is plenty of room. I've been in the pit for Korn, Disturbed and Stone Sour among others and it is all very cool.

As long as theyre organized with it I dont have a problem. I just dont feel like waiting all day and then ending up all the way int he ack of the pit.

****. That's going to make things harder for my brother. If he can't get there in time before the doors open, I'm sorry, but I'm not waiting for him, not if I'm going to wait for hours. If it was a really small pit, then I'd take my chances and try to get someone bigger to help us maneuver to the rest of the group, but if it's that big...yeah :X

Sickman, when you say stage right, do you mean the audience's stage right or the band's stage right? I usually think of stage right as the performer's right (yay for musical theatre lol), audience's left.

Meeeeh and I was looking forward to a small, fun pit, too. *pouts* Ah well.

I didn't see a time for the doors to open, btw. Does anyone have experience with that? Is it an hour before the concert time?

Everyone enters on the right side of the stage when looking at the stage from the Audience. This is not the only entrance but it is the one you end up going through after you get your wrist band. You go through a set of double doors right on to the floor in front of the stage so alot of people tend to hang out right there. Once you are in the pit area there are 2 ways of entering or leaving the pit in the back of the pit and there is 1 more at the front of the stage on the opposite side you entered the pit from. Also givin the size of the pit there is plenty of room to stand and you are still pretty close to the stage no matter where you are. The one nice thing is the promoter doesn't oversell the pit area.

because ive never been to this venue before and most likely it will not be organized and it will be a mess

I wouldn't worry about it. They have done plenty of shows with pit areas. The security there is pretty good and they don't come down on you unless you are startin' ****. I've been to about 30 shows here and I have not ever had a problem. Don't worry about it, you'll have a great time.

But we should be there early, so whomever is first in line or w/e should typically get dibs on front row.

Personally I would definitely let someone shorter than me get in front of me, because I know how much it sucks to have a giant blocking your view (I'm 5'0"). I wouldn't be bothered by it because I would still be able to see over them!

I don't understand the problem, or why people have to be so mean. If they're not blocking your view, what's the big deal?

Because I waited in line just like everyone else. Everyone wants to be as close to the stage as possible.

So, because I'm tall (i'm 5'-8"), I should just let shorter people in front of me - that would be like 90% of the people there. The last concert I went to, there was this huge guy in front of me. Sure, it was annoying, but that's what happens.

If you want to get to the front, then come early. Or, get seats instead of pit if you are worried about not being able to see.

You're 5'-0. The odds of someone shorter than you coming in are very low. The odds of most people there being taller than you are very good. Were you planning to just worm your way up to the front because you're shorter? How is that fair?

When you get in, there are people in front of you. Don't stand behind the tall ones.

IAW TheLady. I'm 5'7" without shoes on; with shoes, I'm 5'8" or even 5'9". However, I'm really, really skinny. Which means that, height or not, I would not be able to hold my own in any kind of moshpit...unless I'm with a big guy OR unless I'm up front on the barricade. Or in the way back, for that matter. No, Ev has never had a bad moshpit, but I'm just saying. In terms of practicality (not even thinking about how well I can see), it makes a lot more sense for me to be up front or in the way back where I can't see because it's safer.

Obviously, though, that doesn't mean I'm entitled to a front spot. If I get there early and am in the front of the line, I expect to be in the front. Some kid who gets there an hour before the doors open is not going to get in front of me just because s/he's shorter. Plus, there are a lot of people who try to shove their way up to the front and expect people to let them out of their way just because they're smaller than they are. And that is way not cool. Like TheLady said, if I know you, then of course I'll share my spot or get you in front of me. Especially if things get a little rough (there was one time I was at a concert for Shinedown, and things got rough and a guy who I had chatted with in line took one look at me behind him and pulled me in front of him to keep me safe. I thought that was really sweet of him). But if I don't know you, then no. I'm sorry. I hate being mean, but I've seen my share of bitchy fangirls who expect people to just move aside for them, and I just won't allow them any headway (a set of bitchy fangirls behind us in NYC seriously muttered that they hoped my friend, who was feeling really sick, would pass out so they could get up front. I almost smacked them).

If anyone is still looking for tickets to this show, and don't want to wait for the Friday sale, you can try here: http://www.lazer993.com/index.asp

They're holding a contest for Ev tickets up until probably Friday or so. You have to listen to the station (you can listen to the stream online) and when they tell you to call or whatever, I believe you have to be caller number nine. It doesn't say anything on the site about winning the tickets in the contests section, but there is something Ev related on the concerts page (it's just a small little thing with the details of the show).

If you do want to try and win by listening, they'll give you the phone number when they tell you to call for the tickets. I don't think they give the area code out though, in which case I'll give it to you. The area code is 413. :)

However, I don't know what seats they're giving away. It might be for pit, it might not be.

VIP tickets are for season ticket holders. They include special parking,VIP tent with snacks, etc., bathroom, seperate entrance, seperate concession stand. You get the picture.

That saying, I am a VIP holder and not really a fan.(sorry) and I would like to sell the tickets. 2 tickets in row kk. The seats are right in the middle two rows in back of the soundboard. Very good for the short fans and of course the best sound. You are also looking over the whole first section of people. I love these seats, this is my second year subscribing. I do live in the new haven county area, so we can always meet for a transaction.

My digitial is halfway decent and it takes great pictures at shows but I'm still undecided as to whether I'm going to try to sneak it in or not.

:D Crazy ... March 31st is creepying up on us. I can't wait to go. This will be the first concerts I've ever been to. I have a question. When you get to the stadium will they give you a paper with the setlist on it? Just wanna keep it for memorablia if they give it to me.:D

No. After the show is over, they usually throw people the setlists, and whomever catches them gets to keep them.

I'm confused. This show is for March 31st, not the 24th. And who said anything about MCR and Rise Against? They're not in this tour, Ev's touring with Chevelle and Finger Eleven.

I think you might have the wrong thread, and the wrong info.

omg there has to be! they arent having a show on april fools.

omg i hope there are pranketies! i wanna see the pranketies!

i would love my random but totally impossible idea to happen. i told heather the other day. i said something like "wouldnt it be awesome if i dressed up exactly like amy for one show, and the guys were in on it. and then after the show started and shes in the middle of singing a song, i like went out on stage behind her where she couldnt see but everyone else could and just mimicked her? that would never happen but it would be hilarious."

yeah i get weird ideas. leave me alone.

And that's a pretty good prank Tara, but you'd need a lot of connections to pull that off. I saw your submission for the music video and you do look a lot like Amy, you do a good job of imitating her :) Tons of people would be totally confused ;)

haha yeah i know thats why it would never happen but thanks for the compliment with the amy stuff haha.

i wouldnt want to confuse the audience. it would be more like a prank on amy.

im hoping they come out after the show because i wanna playa little game ive entitled "guess who i am"

bascailly, ill have my sweatshirt and my amy like bug glusses. ill ask each of the guys and especially amy "ready. guess who i am?" put on the glasses and then pull up the hood.

haha

and then if they still dont get it ill say "well if i put my hair up, no one can really tell who i am"

I was just at that venue a couple of weeks ago for an MCR show, and my friend and I made it a point to inquire about the pit there. The one for the MCR show was big, but certainly not huge, and the person we spoke to said she expected the one for the Ev show to be smaller.

As for the whole Pit 1/Pit 2/Pit 3 thing, there are no divisions. It's one big open area and you can stand wherever you want, just like most GA areas. I think that's just a numbering system used by the venue to keep track of the amount of tickets sold and stuff.

I saw tons of people at the MCR show w/ cameras, and I'm sure there were some pit people with them....but I can't really speak to how strict they were, because I wasn't up front for that show. However, I think the whole camera policy may be more artist-specific than venue-specific. I've been hearing from loads of people going to these shows that they're not allowing digitals in.....some people always find ways to get them in though. I'm not sure I'm willing to risk it though.

yeah most shows are artist specific.

the tickets for hammerstein said no cameras whatsoever but they let in disposables and you had to hide digital if you wanted to try.

but the two canada shows i went to were no cameras whatsoever and richie and the venue people were pretty tough on it up front. if they saw you with a camera they told you to put it away. too many times and they threatened to take it away however richie never did. one girl kept taking pics and he kept threatening but never did. basically if you were obvious about taking pics he let you but if you were holding up a camera the whole time he made you put it away.

Fallon, just an FYI...there is no direct Amtrak service to Boston. You would have to go down to New Haven and change there to a Boston-bound train *just checked out of curiosity*

New Haven station is nice (because it's where Metro-North, the train system to NYC, starts), but I doubt you'd want to change trains and stuff. It'll add like an extra half hour at least to your trip, and I can tell you that a train from New Haven gets into Boston two and a half hours later.

You would have to go down to New Haven and change there to a Boston-bound train *just checked out of curiosity*I know, but I'm not going to Boston from Hartford lol. I'd have to switch in New Haven on my way to and from NYC though, I saw that when I was looking it up for Thursday/Friday of next week. The only train that is direct is at like 6 am, and there's no way I'm taking that.

I'm taking a train directly into Springfield from Hartford. :)

Katya
03-22-2007, 09:05 PM
Ahh, okay.

And there's no direct train to NYC? That's weird...almost every single Amtrak train I've taken has gone to Penn Station. Obviously, I've never actually gotten off there, but...I hear the announcements of the stops in the station when the train comes often enough to know ;) Then again, if you're not coming from Boston, maybe those trains are different...

As long as you know exactly what you're doing ;) Haha I just saw that on the Amtrak website and was like 'uh oh'. Good to know that you're way ahead of me ;)

Broken Rebel
03-22-2007, 09:28 PM
Yeah, out of all of the trains that go to NYC here, most dont have a direct train, which sucks. A couple do though. There are direct trains into NYC from Hartford as well. I'm still deciding on whether I should take a train or the bus into NYC from up here though, kind of.

I think the closer you get to the city, the more direct trains there are. I live four hours away, so it's kind of far from me. People aren't willing to travel the long distance to the city up here, so I think it's a money thing more than anything.

Thanks though. :) that might help someone else lol.

No, it isn't; however, the primary way to communicate over the Internet, and the ONLY way to communicate on a message board, is through text. If you are not understood properly through what you write, isn't that a little pointless?

I really don't care if you don't use amazing grammar/capitalization or whatnot. I'm not asking you to write a freaking term paper. I would appreciate it, however, if you used just a little punctuation to separate your ideas into coherent sentences. It's just a matter of it being easier to read, that's all.

I'm not trying to rag on you, but you're getting really defensive over something that's not a big deal...adding a period or a comma doesn't exactly take a long time.

Anyway...back on topic. The CT show is in nine days. Discuss. ;)

I'm going with a few of my closest friends and their their husbands/fiances. Too bad I have a day of work ahead of me before the concert, but I did ask to leave a little early today so I'd have time to get ready and have dinner beforehand. :p

Taboo and Twister ;)

I'll be in a black T-shirt, embroidered jeans and maybe a black jacket...though if the weather forecast drops any lower, it'll have to be my purple ski jacket because I get cold fast lol. I = lamest New England native ever. But yeah, I have glasses and my hair is light brown, almost down to my waist. Say hi to me too :)

I'm wondering though... do you think they have a separate entrance for people with pit tickets?

it's usually just one entrance but people with pit will get there at least a few hours before the doors open to wait in line and try to get a better spot.

those with seats can just come when doors open and get on the end of the line. it wont matter where on the line they are because they have assigned seats

First time seeing EV - what an awesome show. Amy Lee was ... well, Amy Lee! I heard so many people saying how great she was after the show too. Very classy woman. The band played great and it was such a pleasure to listen to. The sound people really did a great job blending the band and not burying Amy's voice - the first two bands, you couldn't hear the vocals too well.

I really enjoyed Lithium, with a nice effect of snow falling over Amy at her "Baldwin" piano - why were there some total idiots around my row talking and goofing around during this song? Unf*gbelievable!

I've seen a few good shows this past year or so, including Nickelback twice and Godsmack once(a pleasant surprise for me) but I'd definetely say EV was the most enjoyable, in many years.

I'm not into the Goth thing and didn't know exactly what to expect with regard to that but I found EV to be just a damn good rock band. The guitar players were a pleasure to watch since they basically seemed to concentrate on playing their music very well instead of trying to look some part. I don't know if you know what I mean but if you ever seen Bad Company and Paul Rogers in concert, you'd know what I mean. Besides, who is taking their eyes off Amy Lee anyways?

I never post to rock band boards BUT if EV reads this I want to send a big thank you to them for giving me a great night of music. It seems they do it the way it oughta be done!

The concert was really amazing. Does anyone know who that girl was that came out and sang for a minute with Amy on CMWYS?

Also, it sounded like Amy had laryngitis...her voice cut out quite a few times, and it seemed like she was really straining. But nevertheless, she sounded great.

I was in the pit, in the middle towards the back. I was impressed with the way they had it set up...they didn't oversell it, and the inclined floor was really great for the shorter people...that way no one's view in the back was blocked.

Am I the only one who thought the lead singer of Finger Eleven was completely cracked out on something? At one point, he even took the mic away and mouthed "i'm so f*cked up"

Oh, and how could I forget? Your Star completely rocked my world. However, after hearing Amy struggle with her vocals a bit for the whole show, I'm convinced they use some kind of effect/pre-recorded track to make Amy perfect on the "STARRRRR" parts. I'm not saying that's bad, mind you, but it was too perfect (and identical to the clip from Zepp). Anyway, the concert was awesome.

It was such a great show!!! Esp Lithium when the snow fell. Amy's vocals were powerful and etheral, as always. It rocked sooo hard  It was my first concert and I'll never forget it. What about her skirt to with the deep red/pinkish ruffles awesome. Ugh I screamed at the top of my lungs so hard everytime a song ended. And I love how they added in some of their stuff from Fallen for us fans. My throat is waaaaay sore. But every scream was worth it - no doubt!!! Thanx Ev for a great show!!!:D

Okay, so...I just got home from the Hartford show last night. Unfortunately, we didn't actually meet the band. It was a major bummer, but the venue was probably THE most inaccessible venue EVER (we all hated it). So it wasn't that the band didn't come out, it was that there was no place for us to even wait for them. But this story is so funny that I'm posting it here anyway...

Jo (TheLady on here) made the most hilarious sign ever to hold up during the show. It was split down the middle and had EvNinjas at the top on the left and EvPirates at the top on the right. And she took the band from the Lithium photo shoot and Photoshopped ninja outfits on John, Tim and Rocky and pirate outfits on Amy and Terry. Amy had a pirate hat and a sword and her dress was colored to look more like a pirate's. Terry had a sword that um...pointed in an interesting manner. Hahaha. The other guys had swords and other ninja-like weapons.

So Jo is holding up the Pirate/Ninja sign (we started yelling out 'PIRATES!' 'NINJAS!' depending on what we were when they were lowering the piano after Good Enough, too...hehe it was fun) and John comes over and notices it...Tim goes over to play in front of the side crowd and sees it...And Amy comes over to the side at one point, glances down and starts laughing while she's singing. It was awesome :D Amy's expression especially as she was trying to keep singing was hilarious.

Tara and I had our old NYC Buttercream Cupcakes sign, as well as an Out of the Shadows shirt we had made and we held those up (John, Tim and Amy saw those, too), but Jo's poster was so funny and it got awesome reactions. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of it; hopefully she will take a picture and post it.

Some other random fun things that happened that day (since we were there for ten hours and since we don't have a fun meetage story):

~We played Twister. Yes, we did. It was awesome. I pwn3d everyone (well...Heather and I tied the first time lol). Oh man, Twister is the greatest game, especially with four not-so-bendy people playing. ;) It was like, "Left foot on red!" "WHAAAAAT HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DO THAT?!" Half the time, they didn't use the spinner...they just called out ridiculous stuff for us to do to try and make us fall

~We also played Taboo, which was hysterical, and did Mad Libs. Ohhhhh the Mad Libs. I haven't laughed that hard or that long in goodness knows how long. Mad Libs ROCK.

~ I...ROCKED OUT to Your Star. Like I have never rocked out before. Even though my throat was so dry and I was so dehydrated that I thought I was going to pass out any second, I was like YEEEEEEEEEEEAHHHH lol. Oh man that made my life. *fangirl moment*

~ Tim was handing out picks to fans afterwards...he handed one to Jo and then tapped a security guard on the shoulder, pointed to me, and said, "Give this to the girl with the glasses." I was like  "THANK YOU!" :D

Seriously, the concert was awesome. Finger 11 was good, and Chevelle was really rocking the place...and Ev outdid themselves yet again. They were fantastic. I don't care how huge or how casual of a fan you are, an Ev concert will reignite any excitement/love/appreciation for them that you have. Really.

I'll post pictures in here later, and an actual concert recap. I'm pretty much dead right now...once again, I was rather sick (I swear, I'm allergic to them or something because this is the fourth Ev show in a row where I wasn't feeling well) and I didn't get much sleep. Haha so I'm not quite all there right now ;) But I'll have more stuff up later, and I'm sure some of our AMAZING group will post their experiences, too. :)

I think it was one of her sisters?? I'm not sure. But didn't her sisters sing backup on the actual recording?

My friend and I thought he was totally cracked out, haha. I didn't like Finger Eleven that much, but I also hated Chevelle... :/

Anyway, this was my second Ev concert ever, and ironically, Amy wore the same outfit at both shows. XD They were AWESOME! The snow effect on 'Lithium' was cool, but I loved 'Your Star'!! Obviously I rocked out to all the songs in the pit (I was to the right and really close to the stage), but I definitely rocked the eff out to 'Your Star'. :D

I just got home too. I came all the way from New Jersey.

The show was great. The venue was the worst I've been do, but the show was fantastic. And I think the girl who was onstage with Amy WAS one of her sisters, because there weren't any contests or anything that we'd heard about. SNQ and Cloud Nine weren't played, but I saw them in Canada, so I wasn't that upset. I didn't know they were going to play Tourniquet (I haven't been keeping up with set lists in other threads), so I was happily suprised because I hadn't seen it played live before. I'm a little upset we didn't get to meet the band, but we managed to get our stuff to them (don't ask, it was a long hellish ordeal), AND Richie recognized Tara and I from Canada, which was cool. I rocked out really hard and now it hurts to move, but it was fun. I'm going to upload pics and everything soon. I didn't get any of the actual concert because they were so insane about cameras, but there are some fun ones of us with "Amy" and playing Twister and Taboo and everything. :)

Yeah, so no interesting pre-show stories for me since my mom, my friend and I actually got there like 10-15 minutes before they let us into the venue. And unfortunately, no pictures or video either, because I chickened out after they said no cameras at the entrance, even though I definitely could have gotten that camera in there since there were no metal detectors :( Yes, after all that ninja-like planning! And I didn't do as much interacting with other fans as I wanted to, but meh.

Now onto the nitty-gritty:

Finger Eleven, eh. They weren't as bad as I thought, but nothing special. But damn, that guitarist that looked like Jesus (according to my friend Mary :p) was WAY too focused on his fancy guitar tricks that it didn't even look like he was playing. Haha, my friend even said it looked like he had turrets  And the lead singer seemed really nervous for some reason.

Chevelle was awesome, but Pete's vocals were really drained out, but from what I heard, they were great. They looked really into it, and they just put on a good show. And I really wish the audience had taken Pete's words of wisdom into consideration: "Stand up! This is a ****ing rock show!"

Now, for Evanescence. AMAZING! As I expected :) Was not disappointed at all. Being my first concert in all my three and a half years or so of being a fan, they really set the bar high for me. I was wondering who that girl was that was singing with Amy was as well, but I figured it was her sister, since she was oh so casual about coming onstage. I could tell Amy's voice was a little shot or something (as someone said before laryngitis) but she still sounded amazing nonetheless. The guys were also sharp, right on target ;) They were all so hawt in person...

Anywho, you all are so completely right, the crowd sucked! I mean I'm glad it was tame, but I wish it was a little more active. I was on stage left (aka right) in the middle almost towards the back of the pit, and I was really pissed off at all the people that nudged their way closer and closer to the front and just STOOD there! No wonder Amy semi-neglected our side of the stage. I didn't really see the people behind me, but I think I was rocking out the most in my area, especially for Ev, for which I really couldn't nit pick that much at Amy's mistakes, but as far as I'm concerned, she sounded fabulous! Hah, I felt the resentment from all the people surrounding me because I started bumping into people a little bit, and I felt bad and tried to avoid it as much as possible, but not all that much, because you're pretty much just asking for it just not looking engaged at all, not to mention the obnioxious pot smoking  And boy did I get a work out from all that rocking out, I don't think I ever used my arms and neck so much...ever :p I was a ****ing maniac! I was also horrendously singing back to pretty much all the songs, and screaming loud as hell, so my voice was pretty weak afterwards, but not as weak as I thought it would be.

Overall, not to sound completely fangirly, but it was really really surrealseeing them perform right in front of me. I never thought that the day would come that I wouldn't be watching them perform on my computer screen or the tv, it was just completely amazing. The whole vibration thing from the speakers was really a rush, and I had a chill up my spine the entire time. I'm really eager to see them again, and hopefully meet them all next time, and the audience will be more responsive ;) *waits another two years*

Did anyone see those 3 girls fighting in the pit?

As soon as Amy kicked off "Sweet Sacrifice," one girl apparently tried to push through two other girls. Lots of reckless punching, flailing, and hair-pulling ensued until Security came to break it up.

One of the two girls, who were, evidently, the "winners" of this battle (although I use the word "winners" rather loosely), then felt so empowered and emboldened that she "sang" (screamed) the lyrics to all the songs for the first three-fourths of the show....

It was horrible. It was harsh. She was right near me. I felt like punching her, myself. She screamed with such a hideous voice that it was hard to enjoy Amy.

a) Why didn't Security throw her out for fighting?
b) Why don't people realize that when they attempt to sing along, they only ruin the show for anyone else within shouting distance.

I would have told her to shut-the-hell-up, but it's kind of expected that people will sing along at a concert.... Still, more people need to exhibit some common courtesy.

Beyond that, Amy was awesome.

Security knew ****. The first person we talked to said the pit can only hold 300 people - but only 120 pit tickets been sold.

Then, no one knew which doors were going to open first for the pit. They kept saying different things about the bracelets and everything else. No one knew what was going on.

I wound up hanging out with about 10-12 members from that website and it was a lot of fun. We got to the venue very early...and by very early, I mean about 10 in the morning. The show started at about 6:30. But it was fun. We played Mad Libs, Twister, and did other silly things.

I got to go to a meet and greet and met all five members of Evanescence for the first time. I was expecting to freak out but I held my own.

It wasn't for very long, but I'm just glad that I got the opportunity.

Now onto the show!

Finger Eleven kicked things off and...they were OK. Scott was a little jaded before Quicksand because the crowd wasn't really into it until towards the end of their set. Admittedly, I was waiting for Paralyzer to dance for the small space I had :p

During one of the songs, I think it was Falling On (how appropriate :p), the drummer's hi-hat fell off the elevated stage, but he kept up pretty well.

Set (probably not in order aside from the first two and last two):
Good Times
Falling On
Quicksand
First Time
Talking to the Walls
One Thing
Paralyzer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARMWZhEddvc)

Chevelle was on next and after the first time I saw them, I wasn't looking so forward to them, but they were really really good this time around. They had quite a lot more energy this time. Not sure if it had to do with Peter Loeffler's new "emo" cut, but they were on point.

Sam, the drummer, has a bass drumhead that most Britney fans would take offense to... (http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h165/MissPaine/BaldBritney.jpg) You would think that they were a serious band listening to all of their top songs...but I couldn't keep a straight face the whole time because of that AND other things...

Set (Probably not in order):
Family System
Send the Pain Below
Comfortable Liar
Get Some
Vitamin R
The Red
The Clincher (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t30jAP8RI04)
The Fad
Well Enough Alone
Another Know It All

During the set, the newest member went and blew a kiss to the bass drum head and between songs offered the crowd some cake.

Between one of the songs, they played this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMD2pQwIylk) clip.

Glad they played well.

Now onto the main event.

Evanescence made my first show of theirs in almost three years well worth the wait. They were as loud and powerful as ever. They switched up some things on songs like Imaginary and Whisper. Rocky especially looked like he was having fun because I noticed him smiling to his tech to the side after almost every song. He was switching up some of the routine drum lines. Double bass drums FTW!

Amy was amazing vocally, especially during the songs she pretty much played solo like Good Enough and My Immortal.

Overall, the highlights for me were Imaginary, Call Me When You're Sober (on which one of Amy's sisters, Carrie, came on stage sang a little backup on the first verse), Lacrymosa, and their closer Your Star.

Your Star is not one of my favorites on their new album, but it comes off so much better live with Amy playing the piano with her fist in the air while the band members go all out.

The setlist was standard:
Sweet Sacrifice
Weight of the World
Going Under
The Only One
Lithium
Good Enough
Haunted
Tourniquet
CMWYS
Imaginary
BMTL
Whisper
All That I'm Living For
Lacrymosa

Encore:
My Immortal
Your Star

I can't wait for the Family Values Tour.

I heard the show was sold out.

I thought Amy's reaction to the sign Jo and I had was hilarious. And then I think we were yelling out Tim's name at him right before the other guys all came out for their part of MI, and he held up his hands and he was laughing. That was great too.

I didn't like how we got crowded into a bunch of doors right before the show and we had to wait. And then the security guys were like "NO RUNNING!!1111"

H0kay, guys...my obligatory massive recap! :D

The night before the show, I went with Heather (LuckyStar), Sarah (Draconian) and my friend Jen to Heather’s house. That night, we made our Out of the Shadows shirts, and I baked blueberry-applesauce muffins for the band (I say “I” because apparently no one else was good in the kitchen lol).

The next morning, we were up at the obscene hour of 4:45 AM. We were in the car and on our way by 6 and reached the venue at 8:15. There was already a group of people there, who had been there at 6:30, but they were really nice, and a few of them hung out with us a bit. Especially when we all realized that people who were getting there after 2 would have a really good chance of making it to the front unless we all banded together.

Anyway, it was REALLY cold. The forecast said it would reach 57 that day…yeah it wasn’t 57 outside. Maybe for like…half an hour. I had two jackets on at one point. Eventually, Tracie, Chris (Cfw828), Maria (procrastinator), Jo (TheLady), Fallon (Broken Rebel) and Tara (fearlesst15/snicker28) got there. Fallon had brought Mad Libs; Heather had Twister and Taboo with her, and Tara’s mom had made rice krispie treats.

We played Taboo first, which was hilarious. Then we played a couple rounds of Twister, in which I pwn3d everyone :D I rule at Twister. Heather and I did tie for first in the first round. Afterwards, we played Mad Libs throughout the day, which became increasingly dirty and hysterical. Oh man, Mad Libs FTW.

The venue was kind of in the middle of nowhere, so we had to drive to the nearest McDonalds down the street to go to the bathroom…that made for a few interesting bathroom trips lol. I’ve been on-and-off nauseous since Wednesday, and Saturday was no different (I really think that I’m allergic to Amy or something lol), but I still had a great time.

We saw the buses pull in, since there was only one entrance, but they disappeared down this looong, fenced-off road. And we were outside the venue in these small barricades by translucent garage-door-shaped doors, so we couldn’t walk around outside. Terry and Tim walked around there after soundcheck but since we weren’t allowed in there yet, we couldn’t say hi.

Eventually, more people showed up and we were allowed inside. The security people who were going to pat us down were really nice and didn’t check too hard. But once we were inside, it was utter chaos. There was no order at all. We got inside and ran to the doors…only to find out that we had to get wristbands for the pit, so we had to run to a table…of course half the people who were there at, you know, 4:30 PM got there first. Then we had to wait until 6:30 before the pit opened. We weren’t allowed to run, but again…a lot of the people who hadn’t waited too long got up front and center, which pissed a lot of us off who were there early. But we all got up on the barricade, or right behind. I was right on the barricade in front of Tim and John. :)

So…the concert. Finger Eleven was good, but I didn’t really get into them until One Thing and Paralyzer. I did get handed a setlist afterwards, though :) The guitarist was doing some really weird, cool moves with his guitar lol. Sometimes it was hard to believe he was playing. Apparently, Amy, Beth and Richie were way down to the left, dancing to their music, but I couldn’t see that far down.

Chevelle was really good. I liked them a lot; they really rocked the house. I was completely unfamiliar with their stuff, but it was a good time. The singer commented that at all the Ev shows, there are a ton of “beautiful girls there to support Amy” and that their shows don’t have a lot of girls in the crowd. I thought that was pretty funny.

Now, the main event – Evanescence. The black-and-white striped curtain (very circus-tent-like) rose in the opening notes of Sweet Sacrifice and Ev laid in with one of the best sets I’ve ever seen them play. They seriously outdo themselves every time I see them. Our group rocked out to the max, and Amy kept coming over to our side of the stage. Tara and I had our old NYC Buttercream Cupcakes sign, as well as an OOTS shirt that Tara had made for Amy. Amy saw both of them and she looked surprised when she saw the shirt. Jo had her AMAZING EvPirates/EvNinjas sign, and John, Tim and Amy all saw it. Amy started cracking up, I think in All That I’m Living For, while she was singing when she glanced at it.

During Lithium, “snow” fell. Haha it was a mini blizzard. Couldn’t all snow be like that? It’s light and fluffy and it isn’t cold! Haha. Amy was like “we know you guys get a lot of this, but WE don’t.” I was really, really dehydrated by this point, so much so that I couldn’t possibly sing and scream and rock out and expect to not pass out. So I just mouthed the words and did the rest for the rest of the concert. Good Enough was really beautiful. Really, really beautiful. I loved it.

Tourniquet was back in the setlist, which was way exciting, and during CMWYS, a girl (who we know now was Carrie) came to sing with Amy. I figured it was one of her sisters; it was way cool that she got that chance to sing on a stage like that :) And during Imaginary, they changed up the bridge! It was so cool; John and Terry had some guitar stuff and Rocky played some wickedly cool drums. Amy did use the piano for the beginning of BMTL and said that we “MIGHT possibly know this one, so sing it if you do.” Haha. A few times during the set, we yelled out “YEAH, JOHN!” or “YEAH, TIM!” When we did that to Tim, a few times he gave us a funny look or spread his hands like, “what?” lol he made us laugh.

Lacrymosa…oh man. I. Love. That. Song. Live. It’s AMAZING. I rocked out like WHOA to it lol. Afterwards, my group and I tried to start an Ev-a-nes-cence chant, but people were more interested in chanting Amy’s name. Then they finally came back out for MI (in which Amy told us all that she expected us to sing). She sang half the lines of the second chorus and had us sing the other half. It was cool.

And THEENNNNNN YOUR STAR. Amy was like, “Okay, this is the last song” and people were like “awww” and a few actually booed lol. I was a total fangirl and screamed out YOUR STAR!!! before she started playing the piano. I have to say, that song is THE BEST song they do live. Ever. I have never rocked out so hard. Really, I threw every last ounce of energy into rocking out for that song. I was so excited that I finally got to hear it live. I definitely fangasmed. A lot. ;)

Afterwards, people started chanting ONE MORE SONG! I thought that was funny, and even though I knew there wouldn’t be more, I chanted anyway. John and Tim came out to toss picks to the crowd (apparently, Terry did too, but he didn’t come over to our side). John handed a pick to Jo but I didn’t get one. Tim gave one to Jo and then looked right at me. He tapped a security guy on the shoulder (because, where I was, he couldn’t reach) and said, “Give this to that girl with the glasses right there.” I definitely had a fangirl moment. I was all like O.O OMG. I took the pick and shouted thank you to Tim. :)

Then, we regrouped, since some of us had gotten separated, and left. We saw a line of barricades and sat down by them, waiting for everyone else and for the band. I grabbed a water because I would have collapsed any second if I didn’t get some. A couple of security guys were behind the barricades and Maria asked them if Ev would come out. They told us that no, Ev was meeting some fans at the stage and then they would leave. They said that if they were coming out, there would be more of them there waiting with us. Shortly afterwards, we were kicked out.

Now, I really wanted to give my muffins to the band. And we had a shirt for Beth and Tara’s OOTS stuff for Amy. So we actually went to the road we saw the buses go down and went down it. I felt like such a stalker; we were being as quiet as we could. We ended up running into Jack, who has met Tracie and myself before, and he offered to take some of our stuff to the band. He said that he didn’t think we were allowed down where the buses were, so we didn’t push it and left after thanking him for being nice enough to take our things. I was pretty bummed that I didn’t meet the band this time around; I’d had a running streak of three concerts where I’d met at least three band members.

Then we went to Denny’s for some food…we were all so dead; half of my table was sleeping on each other lol. Eventually, we said our goodbyes and hugged and went our separate ways. Heather, Tara, Jen, Sarah and I drove down to my house for the night. We got in at 3:30 and were in bed by 3:45…exactly 23 hours after I had gotten up. We slept like logs and left in the morning back to our respective homes (in my case, back to my second home – my dorm lol).

So…yeah. I was dead the next day, but man it was worth it. I had such a fantastic time with my friends; it was so amazing to have all the Boston peeps and most of the NY/NJ peeps in one place. :) You all are incredible people to hang out with and one day was just not enough time. Not to mention that the concert was AWESOME, and I really wish I could see Ev again in Providence. Unfortunately, dress rehearsals take priority. Oh well…Family Values Tour, here I come :D

She cheats. She kept taking her hands off the board to move her legs. It was all good though, because we all really enjoyed looking at your ass!

By "we" you mean Jo and all her awesomeness played Chauffer at least 5 times. Best was the last one - where the woman told me the parking lot wasn't open yet and didn't want to let us back in. We were like "we've been here since 9am" - but she still didn't want to let us in. So, I just floored it and went anyway. She actually tried to chase the car a little, but never caught us. That was awesome - I have not defied authority like that in a while.

That reminds me - Tracie/Chris/Maria - did you guys get lost? You took the wrong exit!

Our hotel was apparently having a house party in a room down the hall. It was really loud, but we were all so tired we slept through it.

Eric, fallon and I had a group shower the next morning. We did eachother's backs. A good time was had by all. :D :D :D (not really you perverts)

Haha the Mad Libs were funny. Oh I love you guys. <3

I also got one of John's picks. I think he threw it at me and Jo, and it missed us. The security guy picked it up and stuck it into my hand.

No, that's the whole point of the game. Once you've placed a body part you cannot move it

ROFL. Glad to know I provided a nice view. ;)

Yeah, the guys in the blue car were like "Down in Front" when we were all standing there.

My amazing sign:

Crapppp. This is what happens when I don't play the game in forever. I forget one of the most important rules.

Kay, next time I will play it the right way and STILL pwn everyone. ;)
