I am sure I will be there, depending on ticket price. That is close to my sister's house.

Tix on ticketsnow.com are $95 for GA floor, another $145 GA Floor (not sure why), then two sections, at $145 and $180.

It's a lotta dough, I haven't been to a concert in forever, but I'm going. Somehow.

-Kristen
01-25-2007, 10:16 AM
I've never heard of that site.

Personally, I'm not trusting any ticket prices unless they're from the venue's website or ticketmaster.

it's weird, maybe because it's on Old Dominion University's campus, but that place and onlinetickets.com are like the only two places off hand that look like they're selling right now. I know it's not the 27th yet, but you'd think other places would at least show it on the calendar.

Okay so I am saving up for the Evanescence concert in Norfolk........as sad as this may sound this will be my first concert ever (Evanescence or anyone for that matter) and I was wondering when they go on sale and where I can buy them. I am not a member of the EvClub because I cannot afford i rite now so I cant preorder or nething. So I no the site said Jan 27 (Sat) now is that for all the shows. and where is a good place to buy them.
Thanks for your time!:p

This really belongs in the Concert Dates forum, in the thread of the concert you're going to.

Yes, it is like that for all the shows unless the Ticketmaster site says otherwise.

And...I have to say it. EVANESCENCE is going to be in Norfolk. Not just Amy.

SilentSuicide
01-25-2007, 07:24 PM
I no all of Evanescence will be there but i was eating and typing and amy is only three letter as Evanescence is eleven and harder to type with one hand :)

Katya

Well, you could always just type Ev, you know. ;) That's what most of us call them, anyway. Because we're lazy like that.

Does anyone have any ticket info for this show, like where i can get the tickets, etc.? I've searched ticketmaster and the venue website and I've gotten nothing thus far. If you can respond by tonight that would be nice, so I can go ahead and order them in the morning, but any response would nice as well. Thanks!

I'm really wondering why this date isn't posted on ticketmaster or the venue's website.

I'm really wondering why this date isn't posted on ticketmaster or the venue's website.

I called the box office this moring and they said that they have no information on this show. And that if and when the tickets go on sale it would only be avaliable through them and no one else.

-Kristen
01-27-2007, 01:33 PM
Grrrr. I don't see how they could have no info on the show.

Hello, everyone. I just now registered here because I want to share this post with you, which I just put on the EvClub message boards:

"Don't be worried, they are definitely scheduled to be there. I don't know why the information has not been properly distributed. I went to a lot of trouble figuring this out. I called the box office, and other than knowing that the show was scheduled for March 30 they had no other information. I have a friend that attends Old Dominion University who got in contact with the Student Union there for me, and she said the Student Union claimed that the show wasn't happening and that large acts like Evanescence are planned the summer before they appear there. I also e-mailed the Senior Event Manager at the Convocation Center about it, explaining the difficulties I had been experiencing (I e-mailed several other people at the venue and with Wind-Up without getting any information), and he apologized and confirmed that the show was scheduled and that tickets will be going on sale to the public on February 3."

I hope this is helpful.

I'm still not sure if I can make it, because it's 3 hours from me and I'd have to stay the night.

Edit:: I'm not able to make it to this show. =[
Hopefully when they tour again, I'll be able to go.

Well I thought that there would be NO more tickets left for the Norfolk show, but I checked the constant center's website and they still have GA ones for $38!!! I'm surprised-considering it's so close to the show.

Does anyone have an idea of how early you should get there with a GA ticket to get a decent seat (or a seat at all haha)??? Am I looking at a 5 hour camp out or something like that  I'll do it for Ev though.

Hmmm. Usually, I arrive at GA concerts at least 3 or more hours ahead of the time that the doors open and find a good spot.
Considering this a big venue, I'd say get there earlier than that.

yeah, I was thinking about 3 hours....did your tickets for GA shows just say "floor" or GA"?. becuase i got the tickets today and they actually are sectioned seats, with a row and everything, so we should be guaranteed a seat. I guess we could get there Super early to try to go for the standing floor area :D

Hi, I'm going to this show and I also got tickets with a seat number, row, and all that marked on it. I e-mailed the venue about it and this is the reply I got:

A general admission ticket allows you to sit anywhere in the arena, and it is first come first serve. The seat location marked on there just helps us keep track of the ticket number. If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to contact me!

Thanks,

i think the shows going to be standing room, right?

as for a meetup... maybe we could all look @ the map or something and pick an area to meet up before? LOL
i used to have to go to the Ted all the time w/Regal when i worked there and had to advertise. It's not that big of a venue [considering we all are going to just be on the downstairs level i think.]

Ok yeah. I drove two hours to get down to Norfolk and it was totally freaking worth it. Finger Eleven.. meh. They really weren't too good, but Chevelle was awesome. Evanescence, of course, was amazing. It's the second time I'd seen them perform.. the first time was back when they first came to Norfolk and Ben was still with the band. They've definitely improved a lot since then. I've been a Cold fan for the longest time, but I never got a chance to go to any of their shows and now they're not around anymore. So, it was also really cool to see Terry perform. I was really hoping they'd play Cloud Nine though.

Also, I was wondering if anyone got any pictures? I chickened out and took my camera back to my car.. then when I got up front I figured out I could've hid it in my back pocket. I was kinda mad. I don't see the big deal in letting you have them as long as you turn the flash off, you know? But anyway.. if anyone has any it'd be cool if you shared? :D I was planning on making this thing with a poster I made, some pictures and my ticket.

Here's a LQ version of the poster I made. It ends up really being about 11x17.

My Myspace Blog from last night:

March 30, 2007: EVANESCENCE, Chevelle, and Finger Eleven Show
Current mood: bouncy
Category: Music

So Evanescence played a show in Norfolk last night, along with Chevelle and Finger Eleven, at O.D.U.'s convocation center. It was truely one of the greatest days of my life. I can't really remember everything in order, so bear with me.

First, Finger Eleven came on. I can't say that I'm really a Finger Eleven fan, but I suppose it was a good set. I believe they played like 5 or so songs, including "One Thing".

Then Chevelle came on. They were awesome, and very energetic. From what I can remember they played, "Send The Pain Below", "Get Some", "The Clincher", "Vitamin R", "Another Know It All", and some songs off the new record, among others. During "Another Know It All" when Pete sang the line, "Don't get along if their brothers", he said "Yeah, I never could do that". Someone threw a hat on stage, but the bass player kicked it back into the crowd.

And then the bestest most wonderfulest part appeared from out behind a black and white curtain, AMY LEE and EVANESCENCE!!! She was wearing a short puffy pink skirt, a black tank top, black footless tights with some sort of design on them, black sneakers with white shoelaces, white ankle socks, a choker-like necklace, and two bracelets. At that point I nearly choked up, actually i did, but I hushed it. They began the show with "Sweet Sacrifice", "Weight of the World", "Going Under", "The Only One", "Lithium", (the rest of this i can't remember in order) "Haunted", "Tourniquet", "Bring Me To Life", "All That I'm Living For", "Good Enough", "Call Me When You're Sober", "Whisper". The ended the show with "Lacrymosa". And then they came back out for a two song encore with "My Immortal" and "Your Star".

Funny things that happened included: they played a piece of "Highway To Hell" before "Lithium", and Amy forgot the last line of the first verse. It was like "~ something, something, highway to hell". So when she sat down at the piano she goes, "That's not going to be cool until I learn that last line,... I suck!" During which Terry just keep playing and she was like, "Would you come down." At some point during the show Amy looked out in the crowd and says, "It smells good down here", and then she put her fingers up to her mouth like she was smoking. It snowed during "Lithium", yes that's right, it took a long time, but Evanescence finally brought snow to Virginia!! She twirled and bounced around alot. I never noticed until last night as to how little she is. And at some point she said, "I'm not really cool, I just pretend to be." After they performed "Lithium", Amy wiped her face with a towel and then threw it into the crowd and said, "That's for the guy with the red beard, cuz he was singing every word to the song." And then she drank some water and threw the bottle into the crowd. At some point during intermission-like thing inbetween songs they play a bit of Korn's "Blind".

All in all, it was sooooo awseeum!!!!!!!!!! Unfortuantly you weren't allowed to bring cameras and take pictures, so I'm going to search the net to see if I can find any that someone else took.

for anyone that got to meet rocky, did he come out pretty early after the show or kinda later?? I got to meet terry and I saw amy haha but I couldn't get up to her for an autograph :( and then a bit later after that john was out by the buses. but yeah it was definately an awesome show and an awesome crowd :D I had sooo much fun!! I went to a Portsmouth show for the Fallen tour but I must say this was was so much better

Evanescent

I was at the show right in front of John. If any of you noticed a guy that kept dropping stuff thrown into the crowds over there, that was me. I dropped a drumstick from Finger Eleven (which the security woman gave to a little girl next to me, which was cool), then I dropped one of the water bottles Pete threw - my sister got that. At the very end, though, I caught a guitar pick Tim tossed out, which is great. I had a ton of fun.

AmilCat, I met everyone in the band in the Meet & Greet. Rocky came up to me right after I met Amy, and I was shaking quite a bit. He said "Chill out, man - The Beatles ain't comin' to town!" Everybody in the room laughed at that!

I won through EvClub, but there were also several different radio stations holding contests. The arena itself had a giveaway, too.

This being my first ever concert I must say, it was pretty darn amazing! I'm Evanescent's sister (the one who caught Pete from Chevelle's water bottle!) so I was in the front row off to the left, which was amazing.

The whole time all 3 bands were so energized, I can still feel the pounding of the drums and guitars making my body shake! It being only a few days after the concert I'm wishing I could go back in time and relive it once again.

I'm looking forward to seeing more from them, I gained a lot more respect for them after seeing them live- and Tim kept looking at me! He gave me a big smile after my brother caught one of his pick, so cute! :p

Evanescent, you are so darn lucky!! they all seem like really cool people.

lacrymosapaperflower, that's cool that Evanescence was your first concert! It was my boyfriend's first concert too.

Does anyone have any or know where I can find pics from the concert?? I just want some for my photo album, since I didn't have a camera phone. If anybody has any and you can pm them to me I would be sooo happy!!!

AmilCat, I have one good picture taken with my cell phone of Amy at her piano if you're interested. I also have a few of Finger Eleven as well, let me know if you'd like to see any of them!

There are some pictures of Finger Eleven's performance on their official site:

Check the gallery section. You can see my sister and me in the bottom right corner of the last picture in the second row and the first picture in the third row.

Based on the timing of this article (the VH1 Tour Survival Guide) and the way Amy describes it, I think she might be referring to this show:

Pitfalls of Fame
The other day I had a great show. I was so excited, I was like, "Thank you! We love you! Goodnight!" The whole show had been perfect. I had my hands up in the air . . . and as I turned to start walking . . . off the stage I was right in front of [the] monitors. I didn't fall on my butt, but I had to catch myself with my hands on the ground. I turned around and gave the metal horns.

My point here is that if it is the one she's talking about, it's pretty cool that she feels the show was perfect.
