I might end up at this one being as it's the closest date to Texas on this leg of the tour. Dunno yet, depends on my work schedule and how much the tix end up being....going to OKC for me is a major trip, it's about 7 hours away.

I'm gunna try and go to this. Since there's no TX shows. And Oklahoma City is only 4 or 5 hours away from me. Road trip here I come!

I really really want to go... My sister lives there and im going for break, but the tickets are pretty expensive. Anyone know where I can get cheaper tickets? So far the tickets I have seen are $150.00. [I need 3 or 4]:o

okay, so if you're in evclub, do you get like backstage tickets or something? whats the advantage??
i'm not in it, but when you arrive at the arena, isn't it like 'if you get there first you get the best spot'
or does your ticket actually have an assigned spot?
Hollee
01-23-2007, 08:02 PM
EvClub members get a chance at the Internet presale tomorrow, and I think they get first dibs on M&G tickets. Also I BELIEVE they have a discounted ticket price. And when tickets go on sale. The first tickets to go are the General Admission ones.

Hi, I'm new here, so I thought I'd look for people who are going to the OKC show...and I FOUND YOU!! Mwahaha. So I managed to get a ride with my father-in-law and brother-in-law, but I'm guessing they're not gonna be real into it. I have floor seats--that's unassigned seating, right? I mean, theoretically, one could push their way to the front if there are no "seats." (Right? Or am I delusional?)
Anyway, I'm thinking of printing a name tag and looking for other people from here. Oh, and by the way, I'm Julie. HI! *waves*

A friend of mine who lives a couple hours from me. But uhhh we're not friends no more so poo. No concert buddy :(

That sucks!! You should find a new friend, go to your old friend's house the day of the concert, and when said friend answers the door go "PLLLLLLLLLLBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBTH," (or however you spell the sound a "raspberry" makes,) flash your Ev tickets, and run away.
Poopy on the ex-friend.

I'm from OKC, and I have club section tickets, wherever that is....
If u know, tell me. We got em for free. Anyways, If they are up high, I'm gonna try and trade them for floor seats, cuz the last ev concert I went to was all GA, and we were like one of the first through the gates, and seated sections just suck.

WOO-HOO! *crosses fingers and toes for Hollee* Do you have tickets?! You better get 'em now, I'm not sure how popular Ev is in Oklahoma and I don't know how packed this thing is gonna be.
EDIT: I went on the TicketMaster site to try to get an idea of how many tickets are left. Of course, there's not like a list or anything of "We have this many tickets left" so I searched for 8 tickets in the "Best Available" category and the thing came up with no wait or anything...perhaps they'll be harder to come by once the show date draws nearer, but honestly I'm surprised they're not sold out by now.
Maybe this means I have a reallllly good shot at a barrier position! w00t.

02-28-2007, 12:18 AM
Ahh. Yeah, I read the concert etiquette thread on EvBoard and now I'm kind of scared to push and shove. That was totally my plan until I started reading, and now I'm kinda like..."uhh, no it's cool, I'll just stand here." But then I'm doubtful as to how many people from EvBoard I'm going to run into in Oklahoma City, so maybe it won't be so bad.
I'd love to be close to the front of the line and be in that mad dash for the barrier when the doors open, though...what a rush!

Everybody wish me luck! I'm so close to going!!!!! This will be my first Ev concert ever. Anyone who's been give me some tips alright?
Julieann
03-07-2007, 12:01 AM
Um, I don't know if my tips count because the concert I went to was at an ampitheater, and somehow I'm guessing it was very different from the concerts they've been doing lately. But one thing I know for sure--if Amy happens to screw up on the piano, scream louder. (She flubbed part of "My Immortal" at the concert I went to, and the crowd went dead silent...when the song was over, she cut the concert short, she was so embarrassed.)
Also, when it comes time for the encore, scream like you have never screamed in your life. Scream until your throat wants to rip itself out, until the people near you are bleeding from the ears. (Okay, maybe not THAT loud, but...)
I'm told that a moderate amount of trying to squeeze your way to the front is not that big a deal, but from what I've seen on EvBoard I wouldn't go out of my way to elbow people or anything. Be respectful without letting the pushy-shovey assholes screw you out of your spot.
Actually, I need tips too. Anyone have ideas about putting together a relatively cheap, badass outfit for the concert? Something that says "I'm a nice person, and I'm sexy, but I will TOTALLY kick your teeth down your throat should you decide to f*ck with me."
LackToast&Tolerant

Actually, I've been a member of the band for the past 2 years. Colorguard though, I don't play an instrument. And we're still pretty tiny but we've kept our reputation when it comes to our performance skillz.
Anyway, does anybody know about what time I should get to the Ford Center since I DON'T have GA tickets? I don't want to get there super early but I don't want to get there too late either incase there's problems with finding our seats or something.
Julieann
03-07-2007, 10:53 PM
I asked someone and they told me that if the show starts at 7PM, the doors will probably open around 5:15 or 5:30. I'd probably get there just shortly before the doors are opened, even though you're not in the floor section, just so you don't have to fight through an even bigger mob of people later.

I'm so friggin excited to go to this concert but haven't quite decided what "seating" I want...
What's the deal with club level? Virtual Tour isn't working for me and all I can find is some menu or whatever... is it like standard lower level seating just on the second floor or what?
Hmm... going to be an awesome concert with these three... yup yup.

Here's the arena map for this concert:

Club level seating is in the 200's. I chose general admission just because I want to be down in the fray and get sweaty...but that's me :D
EDIT @ 10:47 AM (CST): I just checked TicketMaster to get an idea of how many floor tickets were left...I searched for the max amount, then 6, then 4, then 2, and then 1...either the site is screwed up or there are no General Admission tickets left. I kept getting a message that said "There are no tickets available that match your request."

"We made this barf bag just for you, Amy...in case you have one of those, ya know...bad moments onstage. We colored it black so it'll blend easily with your outfit--just tuck it into the top of your boot and whip it out whenever you need it. No more swallowing necessary! When finished, dispose of at your own discretion."
Wow, did that sound terrible to anyone but me?
Anyway...only 8 days left! Is Julie excited?! I think so!

I'm planning to! Now, what kind of material would be best for this special barf bag? Obviously a brown paper lunch sack would be a bad idea--whatever ended up being...ahem..."deposited" into it would soak right through the paper. So without getting too elaborate (read: expensive) what would be the best option for this project?

After they play Ev songs, they go "Oh yeah, btw, they're coming to the Ford Center on March 21st" and then they move on. So I don't know if The Edge or KMOD (97.5) are planning on giving away any passes or anything. I haven't heard anything like that.
You should definitely try calling, though!! Here are the phone numbers to those two stations ^^^:
Z104.5 The Edge (Tulsa's Rock Alternative): 918-460-1045

hey guys i was reading this thread and saw that you were wanting more people from Oklahoma to post on here so i decided to.My name is Mike im from Pryor,OK its about 45 miles NE of Tulsa so it is about a 2 and half hour drive to OKC so we are stayin at the Marriott which is right next to the venue.Wednesday night will be my 3rd time to see Evanescence i am also really excited to see Chevelle. I will be sitting Section 105 Row E,oh and for those who havent been to the Ford Center its a great venue not really a bad seat in the house ive been to many concerts there and have always had a good experience.anywayz talk at you guys later.

Hello Mike from Pryor, OK!! I'm Julie from Tulsa, OK. How are you? I have GA tickets and my before-show time is tied up with...umm...prior engagements (lol), but are you planning on staying after the concert to meet the band? I'd love any kind of layout information you could spill on the venue, where people usually wait to meet bands, how far away the barricade usually is from the stage, etc...
I look forward to meeting you, if I can find you! LOL. PM me if you want to try to meet up afterwards. I'll be with my father-in-law and brother-in-law, but I'm trying to talk them into staying. (LOL...if they don't, I'll just say screw it and hitch a ride back to Tulsa with someone else. Haha.)

Hey Julie from Tulsa! im doing good.how are you? um we havent planned on stayin and tryin to meet the band but we always could since the hotel we're stayin at is literally right next to the ford center and the parking garage for the hotel we have a great view down into where they park the tour busses, last time we saw the music as a weapon tour there and watched the busses for a bit but we never saw anyone. As for the barricade im not totally sure cuz i always get assigned seats but from what i remember from lookin down there is that it wasnt that far away from the stage but the distance mite be determined by the band thats performing so it could be different.yeah you should totally stay there its a long ride back from OKC we tried it once and didnt like it so we try to stay at the Marriott lol.We usually get there 30-45 minutes early and try to hit the merchandise spot and get t-shirts, sumtimes it takes awhile and it runs into the opening act but usually we have plenty of time.anyways i hope that info helps you.i look forward to seein you there should be a great show! later

LOL...I SOOOO wish I was going with someone cool enough (and rich enough) to consider just getting a hotel room and hanging out in OKC all night...*pouts* But, on the bright side, I just got my boots in the mail a few minutes ago...they look KICKASS. The only tough part is deciding what to wear WITH them. A black tank top, probably, and.........what? Trying to find a skirt, but Hot Topic only sells skirts that are, like, Ass Crack Theatre. WalMart, KMart, and Target are no help. And I'd love to see the look on the snooty saleswoman's face if i went into Macy's in knee-high combat boots like "Give me a skirt that goes with these, bitch."
I'm totally beyond excited right now, you'll have to forgive me. LOL.

Hey Julie, Johnathan here from Norman, OK. which is like 20 mins away from OKC. I went and saw Trans-Siberian Orchestra(TSO) and it was amazing at the ford center. I too have seats in sec 105 row P. No idea where to meet the band afterwards....TSO actually had a table where the all sat and signed autographs, however,I doubt that EV will do that. I'm taking my best friend Sam for his bday so I'm excited:D

LOL...from what I've heard, sometimes after M & G they just let the winners into the lobby, so they get in first...so maybe I'll be lucky enough to be right next to him and be like "Yo what up, homie? Loved how you totally pwn'd that crazy fan in the ABH DVD." (Is it just me or does Ritchie just seem like a big teddy bear?)

Yeah...I am ready for the show myself. I haven't seen them since 2004 when they were at the Zoo Amphitheater. It was my intention to see them down in Dallas last fall, but I couldn't find anyone that was interested in going with me to the show.
*bleh*
At any rate, I will be on the floor as well Wednesday. My intention is to get as close to the front as possible. Of course, I wasn't as fortunate as you to get include in the pre-show festivities.
:p
PS: If any of you are Lacuna Coil fans, they are playing in Dallas on April 17. Just thought I would throw that out there for you guys in the event you dig them as well.

Remember what I told you about the Louis Vuitton logo? Yeahhhhhh. I found a font that's very close to that logo and it's just too cool.

Psyched, blown away, in complete disbelief, and disappointed all at the same time.
First of all, let me say that all of you who wanted questions answered are going to be pissed at me. On the way to OKC, we popped a tire and had to stop and change it. Then, on the road again, the directions from MapQuest were just plain WRONG. They said take I-40 West and then get off on exit 150C. So we went west, kept looking for 150C, and started to wonder why the exit numbers were getting smaller. After about three miles, we turned around and eventually found our way to the Ford Center...and got there at 6:10 PM.
I tried, begged, pleaded, shed tears, offered money, but because I was 10 minutes late getting to the Will Call window, they did not let me back. I was close--there was a guard who escorted me all the way to the elevators I would've used, went down and checked for me. He came back (at around 6:30) and said that the M & G was over. The band was on a very stringent time schedule and couldn't wait.
So my group and I went ahead and got our spots on the floor. To begin with, I was about 10 rows back from the barrier, but I managed to convince some BIIIIIIIG dude to let me hold onto his shirt while he pushed his way to the front. (It was impressive, he just squeezed through gaps in the crowd and got us to the 4th row.)
Roadies came out at about 6:50 to make sure the guitars were tuned. Then the lights went down, and Finger Eleven took the stage. The crowd reaction was disappointing, to say the least. The same big guy who led me through the crowd was shouting "You suck" and "Bring out Chevelle" during their whole set. I rocked out a little, although I didn't know any of the songs except for "One Thing" and "Paralyzer," which they played last. (I guess I'm not as hardcore as I thought, though, because by the end of their set, I was already tired.)
Chevelle came out and all I really remember from their set was "Vitamin R (Leading Us Along)" and some song that I think is called "The Threat." The guitarist was trying to do tricks with his guitar, like play it over his head and strum it with the cord, which would have been neato except he kept almost dropping the damn thing. (I think he was probably REAAALLLLY high on something...) People started shoving like o.O during the last couple songs, and for a few minutes it was total hell. Turns out the guy doing it was, again, the SAME guy who had led me to the front. About 20 people pointed him out to security and he was removed, after some arguing with one guard who claimed "We can't do anything about it."
The lights came up and the crew came out to load down Chevelle's set, throwing drumsticks and guitar picks and setlists. I guess security finally noticed how hot it was, because they climbed up on the barricade and poured water on people. Ritchie came out to join the Ford Center security and walked RIGHT past me (by now I was in the 2nd row, I could ALMOST touch the barricade). I yelled out "WOO HOO, HEY RITCHIE!" and he paused, turned around and saw me, and said "HEYYYY! I DON'T KNOW YOU!! ROCK ON!!" Which I thought was just great, lol.
FINALLY...the lights came down on the opening strains of "Sweet Sacrifice." Amy sounded absolutely amazing, and the people near me were rocking out a LOT more than I had expected, especially for Oklahoma. I was toward the right side of the stage, and she kept coming over and standing right in front of us, going http://www.evthreads.info/images/smilies/_rock.gif and smiling and waving. She winked at me once, or in my general direction at least. :) The setlist seemed shorter than what I've read on here, but looking at it now they played everything listed. "Weight of the World" was especially awesome--a couple of girls next to me were like "OH MY GAWD SHE TOTALLY SANG THAT OPERA PART!! KICKASS!!"
I started feeling sick towards the end of "Cloud Nine" and for a few minutes, amidst all the shoving and headbanging and water-pouring, I honestly considered having security pull me out so I could go sit down. During "Lithium," it snowed and I realized that they use soapy foam for the "snow." And it tastes horrible, lol. It was cold, though, so I was happy. "Good Enough" was amazing, so much emotion. I saw tons of people cuddling with their significant others. I don't remember much about "Haunted" and "Tourniquet," because I was seriously dying for a while, but there was MUCHO rawking out during "Tourniquet."
It seemed like none of the people near me knew the words to ANY of the songs, except for CMWYS. Before Amy could even get "Don't cry to me" out of her mouth, people were screaming louder and singing along. "Imaginary" created a lull (at least near me) because only a few people knew the words. I seriously cannot remember if she used the piano or the keyboard for the beginning of BMTL, but I think it was the piano. I know I couldn't see her, so it was probably the piano. That created even MORE screaming and singing along, and every guy in the audience was singing John's part. John actually didn't do his lines during the chorus, he just did the bridge, and I was kind like WTF?! If he did do the chorus parts I sure couldn't hear it.
"Whisper" was awesome, even more headbanging from EVERYONE (onstage and in the audience), and then Amy told us what an awesome crowd we were and dedicated ATILF to us. I believe her exact words were "This song is for you guys--yeah, it's just for you." Then "Lacrymosa," which just RAWKED. At one point Amy was center stage, on her knees, singing her frickin' heart out and reaching to the crowd--total photo op for those who were ballsy enough to use their phones to take pics & videos.
The band left the stage, and people around me started leaving, and I was going "NO! NO! There's gonna be an encore!" Someone asked me how I knew and I was like "Because I'm on the messageboards!" (For some reason it made me insanely proud to say that, lol.) Sure enough, after maybe 5 or 10 minutes the piano rose onto the stage again and Amy sat down. She told us we would all have to help her sing this next one, which I thought was a cute way of putting it. Then she launched into "My Immortal" and I couldn't believe it, but I cried. Wept like a little baby through the whole song.
"Your Star" -- wow. That's just it. Wow. I liked it before, but seeing it live is almost a religious experience. She absolutely NAILED every note, vocal AND piano, and that bridge part is almost impossible to play (for me, anyway), but she rocked it like I couldn't believe. *By the way, Hollee, I am SO sorry I couldn't call you. We got into the arena and lost signal completely. I did think of you and headbang extra hard for you, though, if that counts...*
Then Amy said goodnight and that was it. I waited for the drumsticks/picks/setlists/water bottles. I had a total world-shattering fangasm when John came to the front of the stage to throw his picks...he is just TOO much sexiness. I ALMOST had one of Terry's picks, I mean it was IN MY HAND...and then this bitch behind me grabbed it and wanted to fight about it, and just about got her nose broken in the process.
All in all, aside from missing the meet and greet, feeling like I was going to die, and not being able to wait for Ev after the show (due to said dying-feeling) it was pretty frickin cool.
3 tickets to Ev concert: $135
Boots, skirt, and tank top to wear to concert: $100
Road trip food: $15
Being able to say Amy Lee winked at you from the stage: F*CKING PRICELESS.
To all of you who asked questions, I'm sorry to have let you down. I tried so hard to get into the M & G, and I would have if the guard who escorted me hadn't taken so long to get to where I was. (Damn moseying security people anyway.)

I really hate that I missed the M & G. I wasn't really disappointed before the concert, but it really depresses me now. :(

i guess its my turn for a story!
i live in tulsa and oklahoma city is about an hour and a half away. i planned to leave at 2 so i could have an hour to walk around OKC because the center didn't open until 5:30 and evanescence didn't go on until 9:00 and i really didn't want to hear finger eleven.
well, i spent most of the time driving around tulsa trying to find a tire so i could make the trip because my tire was about to blow out. anyway, i found one and we got on the road at 3:50 and made it to OKC at around 5:20 (okay, so i speeded some... julie, i don't remember the directions exactly, but we went I-40W then merged onto I-35 and got off on 150C..). i had a friend that had waited in line since 1pm and he told me there were about 20 people behind him at 3 or so, but around 5 there were atleast 200 people.
so we find a parking spot and as we're getting out of my car this crazy girl speeds into the back of this van! i didn't see any damage, but the guy she hit worked at fox collision center.. oh the irony.
we went to eat at 5:30, got done at like 6:20 and went back to the ford center. we get through the line (even though i was frisked way way longer then everyone else, racists) and go stand in the line for merch. i wanted that dickies workshirt, but the shirt didn't look that great in person and $70 is too much for a shirt, so i didn't buy it.
we went to the stage and there were 20 rows of people already crowded around the stage. we managed to push through 5 rows of people. anyway, the stage people finished setting up for chevelle and they came out.
there was this CRAZY group of people to the left of us who kept moshing and jumping into people, but the good thing about it was everytime they made the hole, we moved up like 3 rows. we eventually ended up 8 rows from the stage (in the center too!) and those moshing guys got arrested (seriously, they were assholes to the security people and they were crushing 5" girls).
i didn't like most of chevelle's songs, but they had a few ones that were okay. some chick flashed her boobs and the singer is like "yeah, i see them" and they had 2 encore songs. chevelle gets off the stage and they start taking down stuff for their set.. the drummer had a picture of britney's half shaved head on his kit, i thought that was pretty weird, but whatever.. anyway, as they're taking down chevelle's set this drunk guy is like "**** EFFENSCENSTS! WE WANT MORE CHEVELLE!" it got really quiet around that area because a lot of people had on evanescence shirts.
so we're waiting..
this other drunk guy wouldn't stop talking to me
and waiting
he keeps making really lame tall jokes.
"hey, hows the weather up there?"
"really ****ing hot, leave me alone"
and waiting
"OMGGG! AMIEE LEIGH IS SOOO HAWT, MAN! U LYK AMIEE LEIGH!?!"
and waiting
it gets dark and we heard "it's trueeee" and we finally see the band. everyone starts going crazy and you could hear the crowd singing the high parts of the song, it was amazing. the song rocked, need i say more?
weight of the world was REALLY amazing.. like, i didn't expect it to sound so great! when it got to the bridge and amy started singing the high part, it was like "ohh wahhh" and i could see jaws dropping, it was hilarious, but i couldn't hear all of it because it's faint and everyone started screaming.
i was really waiting for cloud nine.. everyone went crazy for that song. the song was amazing, but amy sounded kinda thin during the bridge.
lithium rocked. the snow was cool, but it was like getting in my eyes. burn.
before she played good enough amy said "i'm playing this one by myself, so be nice!" and her voice sounded really high.. i thought that was weird. i noticed she rolled her eyes during this song.. (she rolled them during the tokyo performance)
everyone sang all the older songs, but not as loud with the newer ones. oh yeah, she messed up on the words during the only one and kinda laughed on stage about it.
everyone started freaking out over CMYWS.. i'd say most of the crowd was singing along to that song.
imaginary rocked, but amy almost didn't make it back to the piano in time for the bridge and they CHANGED THE BRIDGE TOO!! they added drums and guitar on the first beat of every two measures or something like that. i don't remember what they did exactly, but i have never seen the bridge played that way before.
everyone sang along to BMTL, but john didn't sing his part during the chorus.. she didn't play the intro on her keyboard, she played it on her piano (which i thought was weird)
whisper rocked. amy nailed the high part of the bridge. i think this was the song that i noticed where terry messed up twice, he played a measure sharp twice, but it's live so who cares?
okay, lacrymosa. i don't know what it was about this song, but when the strings and piano were hitting my ears, omfg.. SHARP SHARP SHARP SHARP! i don't know if it was the sound coming off of the walls or what, but the strings/piano were so sharp i was getting a headache. i think it might've been me because no one else seemed to notice, but the strings sound higher and i have the piano parts of the song memorized and they sounded higher to me too, so eh. at the ending, amy was all "ahhahwwahhhaaawahh" and she like collapsed, that was pretty cool.
i'm like, "yes.. encore.. your star.." a few people were starting to leave and honestly, i was glad.. because we moved up two more rows.
amy came out and said "okay, i need you guys to help me on this one." this guy was all "oh man, the way she is playing it is so simple, i could play that." okay, that song is over.
YOUR STAR
this is my favorite song, love the song.. hearing it live was amazing. during the bridge, right when the choir completely takes over.. the piano was different, not like the way they've been playing it.. i think they're using some weird echo effect because the "stARRRRRR" parts had this echo and they were sharp (the rest of the song was fine, but those parts had something crazy going on).. the high F# at the end (parts and pieces) didn't sound as good as the CD, but it was still pretty amazing.. i love the song even more after hearing it live.
so we leave ford center and we go back to my car. i really wanted to meet the band, so i got my TOD piano/vocal book (lol) and walked around looking for the buses. the security guard wouldn't let us actually go down to where the buses were, so we had to wait like 40 feet in the air behind a gate and watch.
we waited an hour or so before we actually saw a band member.
there was this really annoying chick that kept shouting stuff to the people working down below.. she would be like "omg, i'll show you my tits if you let me come down there!" and hes like "i just wax the buses, sorry"
i was talking to this guy and hes like "if you want to meet the band, just follow the buses after they leave.. they'll need gas eventually. i followed willie nelson for 100 miles and met him when he was getting gas." it was funny, but kinda strange. he left before anybody came out though.
terry was the first person we saw enter the bus and we're like "come up here and sign autographs!" he went in the bus for awhile and went back inside the center. they have a crew member that looks EXACTLY like terry, some people were screaming when he would come out. :p
anyway, john somehow got past EVERYONES vision except for 3 people and they got like a bunch of **** signed (that they were going to sell on ebay ), but they gave me a sheet of paper with his autograph on it, so i was happy.
tim came out of nowhere and we're like "tim come sign autographs, please!" and he walked up to the underground parking exit (the buses were not really underground, but on a lower level), but there were STUPID PEOPLE who kept saying "oh my god, it's will! will! please come sign autographs!!" we were like "will left the band months ago, don't call him that.. he's tim! stop!" i'm sure he heard them and i felt really bad. tim looked angry when he was signing autographs, so i didn't chat with him, but the people who were calling him will (who still were when he was SIGNING their autographs) talked to him for awhile.
he got a phone call and someone was like "where are you?" and he said he was signing autographs and told the person to come up the ramp (btw, tim has the NICEST phone i have ever seen). he signed my book and was reading the cover and goes "piano/vocal.. cool" so we're freaking out because another person was going to come out. tim went back to the buses and we waited for the next person. (btw, there were about 40 people there when we first started, but only 15 or so actually stayed). i think it was 30 minute or so before terry came out..
terry came up next and ritchie came out with him. terry smelled like alcohol, lol. he signed autographs and was pretty cool. i never realized how small everyone is in the band. terry talked with everyone and went back to the buses.
we had like 12 false alarms because people kept coming up the ramp and it was hard to see who it was.
i talked to these girls who had on ev shirts and they're like "yeah, amy was playing peek-a-boo with the fans in dallas. she kept opening the door and peeking out, then she would raise the blinds and look out at the fans. i was so mad because it was freezing outside and she didn't come out until 3:30."
we thought rocky would come next, but he never came out..
i was starting to get pretty mad.. i was tired, my knees hurt, i smelled like smoke.. and that peek-a-boo story was not cool. it was 12:20 and i'm like "damn it, if someone doesn't come out at 12:30, i'm leaving."
AT 12:29
everyone starts screaming and they're all "lyk omg it's amiee leigh!!!!!!!!" and we kinda moved down the ramp and the event security guard screams "GET BACK NOW!"
......
so we backed up and ritchie told us there were three rules.
don't take pictures of amy when shes signing something.
move to the back of the line when you're done.
and something else, that i can't remember..
then amy says "yep, it's all about the crowd" it was weird because only like 9 people got their stuff signed by terry, tim, but 20 people came around when amy came out.
anyway, i got my book signed and i'm like "oh god, i have 10000 questions.. must pick the right one."
"can i ask a question"
"sure"
"why was lacrymosa transposed from d minor to e minor?"
amy looked at ritchie and goes "did we change keys for that song?" and he said no and i said "no i mean, mozarts lacrimosa in d minor and yours is in e minor."
and she said, "oh, it's the wrong key for my voice." and i was going to ask what that meant because everybody's fool is in d minor, but i moved to the back of the line and EVERYONE was staring at me like "wtf kinda question is that" so i felt stupid. everyone got their stuff signed and then we got our pictures taken. they didn't leave any time to talk to the fans and a firetruck and emsa pulled up behind the tourbuses (????????) and we left.

hey man i remember you guys too,it was sum good times huh?
Chevelle came out and all I really remember from their set was "Vitamin R (Leading Us Along)" and some song that I think is called "The Threat." The guitarist was trying to do tricks with his guitar, like play it over his head and strum it with the cord, which would have been neato except he kept almost dropping the damn thing. (I think he was probably REAAALLLLY high on something...)
Wasn't that the guy from Finger Eleven? The guitarist on the right side of the stage (the guy with the long hair) kept causing his guitar strap to come off and was acting a fool. I didn't see anyone from Chevelle acting like that.
Good writeup about the show. I was on the floor. The sound was a bit muddy for all three bands but they all put on a good show.

You're right, it was Finger Eleven. Yeah, one of the guys standing near me asked me what songs I knew by Chevelle and I told him I really liked "Vitamin R (Leading Us Along)" and he was like "Whoa, ****, you like to party, huh?" And I went ".........uhh, what?" So he proceeds to explain to me that "Vitamin R" is a street name for ecstasy. The "R" = rolling, as on ecstasy.

Broken Bow, it's a teeny tiny town about as far southeast as you can get in Oklahoma. It'll be about a 4 hour drive for me.
Broken Bow? That's right in my back yard. I'm from Mena in Arkansas, about an hour and a half from you. I ended up driving 7 hours, from Mena to Tulsa to visit a friend, then from Tulsa to Enid to visit my sister, then from Enid to OKC. It was a good show, I was especially pleased with the song selections. I was also impressed by the crowd, there wasn't much pushing and shoving going on and I only saw one mosh pit the whole show, during Chevelle's set, for about half of a song. The only thing that disappointed me was after the show, I was going to buy a shirt, but they were sold out of everything but medium and large, and I needed at least an XL. Whoever is in charge of merchandise needs to plan better.

Vitamin R refers to Ritalin, according to the band.

CLICKY HERE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5Y56RT3Nfo) for a kickass video of "Going Under" from LAST NIGHT. I can't believe there's only one up on YouTube so far. There were about a thousand or more cell phones in the air, and I know probably 1- people near me were taking videos on their crackberries.
Note: When she holds the mic out to the crowd for the first "Going under" (just after "and you still won't hear me"), she was seriously TWO FEET away from touching my hand. One of those arms there is mine. *dies*

That guy is awesome for taking that video. I really hope other people post their videos, because I KNOW there were a ton of people recording. Security didn't seem to care much, even Ritchie. I mean, what the hell did they think all those cell phones were doing in the air?! LOL. (Yeah, I know, they've kinda replaced the Flick Your Bic thing, but still...)

I saw many cell phones pointed at the stage from where I was (about halfway between the stage and the fenced off area where the production equipment was located). I even saw somebody taking pictures and a security guard walked right up to them, said something, then walked off. The person kept taking pictures, so I guess they really didn't care.

Well, the concert already happened, so i know what went down. They have general admission, which is like you say, whoever gets their first, gets the best spot. Now, the perimeter of the arena has seats, and those seats are designated for assigned seats. That concert rocked!! http://p7.piczo.com/img/i156038147_23243_7.jpg i took that picture

Unless you happen to buddy up to a big huge mountain of a man who will drag you to the front with him, in which case 10th or 12th row can become 2nd by the time Ev comes on. :D

I took yesterday to recover from the show, but I think the highlight of it for me was when Amy threw the second water bottle she drank out of into the crowd. Unfortunately for me, a person standing a little bit in front of me deflected it from my hand...but my friend that was with me got it. So, I happened to get a swig of Amy Lee's backwash from the water bottle.
*wewt*
:D
The show was great and they pretty much played everything I wanted to hear. The only song they didn't play that I really wanted them to was "Like You." I figured that may be off limits though as the song is about Amy's sister and she tends not to perform those song live (much like "Hello" off "Fallen".)
PS: I got a chuckle out of Chevelle's bass drum btw.

It took me a while to get to a computer. As for the show, I didn't really care for Finger Eleven but I thought Chevelle was alright. Ev was awesome though. Everything sounded better then I thought it would live. I was able to sneek a disposable camera in so I'll post some of the shots I got later on tonight. They would've been better if I had a digital one but they're better than nothing.
It's so awesome for you guys that got to meet the band. My group and I were at the parking garage with everyone else but they talked me into leaving around 11:30. You can imagine that after finding out that they came out an hour later, I'm a little ticked off at the people that convinced me that we should go.
