Omg, me too! I was totally rocking out, I stood up a few times like I said, most other people just sat there! I was like wtf dude, this is a concert! Get into it man! I'm soo tired today, I feel like I've been drugged, I was jumping around and stuff so much - I had to stay off school haha, I didn't want to, I really wanted to go and tell everyone how awesome it was but never mind, there's always tomorrow. And yeah, I agree about Amy's voice - I've never seen them live but I've seen recordings where she wasn't as good (but you can't be perfect every time I suppose), but man, last night she was absolutely FLAWLESS. They all were. I had the best time.

Yeah I was haha, but which show did you go to? Last nights or the one on Tuesday? I was there last night, in the last row of the first level thing, you know the bit where you walk in and go up or down (depending where your seats were)


Evanescence now officially owns my soul.

Last night's concert was AMAZING! My friend and I managed to get pretty close to the front, at the front of the raised bit behind the mosh pit and you could just tell that everyone around us was having a great time, band included by the looks of things. Redline were alright, in my opinion. Most of their music wasn't really my kind of thing but they were fun to watch. Loved the "practise" Amy Lee too.

I was hoping to stay behind a bit to see if the band would come out, but the St James staff started asking us to leave so we got some merch and went home. My only regret is not being able to go to the previous night's one, but at least I can blame the R18 law for that. But it was definitely the best concert I've ever been to (even though only I've ever been to one other) and probably the best night of my life.

As for the earthquakes, I guess this is what happens when Evanescence performs...

Haha! I completely agree with your whole post. The practice Amy Lee was awesome. People were cheering so loud.. But when she REALLY came out, they cheered even louder, I was like wow! Haha I did my fair share of screaming too, my voice was so retarded at the end, and when we were all yelling for the encore - The noise was deafening. It was awesome. And yes - Best concert ever, and definitely one of the best nights of my life. I couldn't ask for anything better. Haha - I was thinking the same thing about the earthquakes :p Coincidence that it happened while they were playing? I think not ;)

Ugh..pictures..i snuck my camera in, and you have NO idea how many times i tried to take pictures or videos..but the security was really strict on that and everytime they spotted me and came to get my camera i had to run into the crowd and try and hide from them. one security guy even threw water on my camera..=(

Hey, that's awesome you got to meet them! Next tour I'm gonna go to all the Aussie shows too, I'll be old enough and out of school by then so yeah, only like three years, right? :p Can't wait! Yeah i noticed that banner, we were up in grand circle and you couldn't miss it.The only people up in grand circle rocking it out was our row,everyone else looked like they were watching a re-run of a movie or something,..next time i want to be up front,..and reeeeeally rock out!! AWESOME CONCERT

haha wooooow! the concert was amazing. just truly awesome! I had such high expectations but it topped anything i ever imagined! I was right up the front with emily and jess and all of our "team" hahahah man it was just breathtaking! Meeting Amy before the concert is honestly the high point of my life hahahaha i sound like such a dweeb!!!! but thats alright cause man it was insane. cant wait to get the pic developed. I went and saw them on the 21st, amy was amazing, the concert was the best thing ever...we waited in line for hours and were in the FRONT ROW....it was the greatest experience of my life so far....i loved it.And i got a hoodie,i didnt get to meet any of them though but i plan on doing so the next time i get to see them!

I went and saw them on the 21st, amy was amazing, the concert was the best thing ever...we waited in line for hours and were in the FRONT ROW....it was the greatest experience of my life so far....i loved it.And i got a hoodie,i didnt get to meet any of them though but i plan on doing so the next time i get to see them!

joel is such a twat lol...hes said so many times on c4 how annoying ev are and depressing etc...he even said once he despises the band...

To me it just seems that in general the DJ's on The Edge don't seem to like Ev, and that's cool, I mean it's not everyone's cup of tea.. I just wish they'd give it more of a chance. I reckon Sweet Sacrifice could do really well, if they played it more.. Or at all. Polly from ZM seems to really like Amy after she interviewed her, it's probably better to request it over there. Might do that now, actually. Let's hear some Sweet Sacrifice! [But don't spam, obviously THAT doesn't work..]

Dodgy wiring caused the fire.

The St James Theatre has been closed indefinitely by the Auckland City Council after dodgy wiring in the historic venue caused a fire.

Theatre operator Peter McArthur, who has a long-term lease on the building, says the place has been shut down and he's not sure when it is going to reopen.

The fire on May 12 happened because of an electrical fault in a switchboard in a backstage dressing room at the Westend Theatre, a small theatre within the complex.

"The council has issued a warrant to close the building for public access until the landlord can convince them the complex is safe to be used," says McArthur.

Landlord Paul Doole, an apartment developer, told McArthur the theatre was going to be open on Monday but it wasn't.

Doole told TimeOut he couldn't say when the venue was going to reopen.

"Council are reviewing it; we've got consultants producing reports and they're doing an audit of the theatre. Being an older building, and being a heritage building, the council are sensitive to safety."

The St James is a category one historic building, meaning it is protected and cannot be bulldozed. Considering the number of reports required to assess what needs to be done to get the building up to standard, it could be a long wait before punters return.
It could also be costly. A council spokesperson says even though the fire was in the Westend Theatre the electrics of the entire complex need investigating.

Since the fire the theatre has lost TV2's Pop's Ultimate Star and this week's Solidsonic punk rock festival. Evermore have changed their show to the Bruce Mason Centre in Takapuna. Future shows, such as Xzibit in June, Bloc Party in August, and the Taste of Chaos Tour in October, are up in the air.

"The artists' agents are saying if you can't confirm a venue we don't even want to put it on our world trip, which is understandable. So, unless we can get some answers in a hurry then those shows are in jeopardy," says McArthur, who is already more than $100,000 out of pocket because of the lost shows.

"As operators of the theatre and the long-term lease, we want to see it as a good theatre for rock'n'roll and all the rest of the stuff that we do in there."

Doole still plans to build apartments in front of the theatre on Queen St. He says a revised resource consent application will be filed in the next four to five weeks.
