Anyone got any info about this new date? A local radio station announced it and was giving away tickets,
does anyone know if they are on sale anywhere?
I'm really glad they're coming to Perth because we're usually forgotten.
PS I know this date is ages away but I desperatly wanna get tix for Xmas!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was 92.9 that gave out details early last time too.
I was in Adelaide earlier today and I saw some tour posters, which caught me off guard as I hadn't thought it would be on so early in the new year. Didn't think there would be a Perth date!
Challenge is an okay venue, not like there is much of a choice otherwise.
It's been a looong wait to see Ev again..

mknell

That from ticketmaster, they won't for a few days
I know the prices from the Sydney Entertainment centre site
There is no such thing as a front row ticket price, there is a GA price or seat price

The only suck hole thing about this for me is that
a) If I don't find anyone to go with, I can't travel all the way to the opposite side of perth by train. (simply because I'm not going to put myself in a risky situation and end up dead on a sidewalk) - then I have to resort to plan b.
b) get my brother to drive me there and go with me
life can bite you in the ass sometimes for being so shy and anti social.
P.S I saw them advertise the Perth concert on tv today. I was kinda hoping they wouldn't advertise until the tickets were on sale. damn
Unrequited-Amz

Arrgh, I don't want them to advertise, this way it will be harder to get tix! Nooo!
I'm really young...IS THIS AN ADULTS-ONLY? I cry myself to death if it is. :(
It'll be hard 4 me 2 get there 2. I think I have to go with a friend, but I dunno if she's willing to pay.
HOW MUCH ARE TIX (American dollars is fine, I have a currency converter site :)
Please help me!

As for the poll... Unfortunately, I have to say unsure.
I really would love to go... but it's looking increasingly likely that I'll have to work nights during most of February. If I can shift schedules between now and Dec. 11th, it may be possible. Otherwise, with great sadness, I'll be missing this magnificent event.
The only suck hole thing about this for me is that
[B]life can bite you in the ass sometimes for being so shy and anti social.
I know exactly how you feel.
I currently don't have a license, so driving myself to the concert is out of the question. I dislike public transport, and my list of friends is indeed quite short. Given my own shy nature and somewhat anti-social ways... asking for a favor from anyone I know will also be difficult.
::sigh::
Somehow, I just don't see myself getting there on the 15th of February...

I went last time when they came in 2004, I have pics of that show which I'd post, but they're quite crap, and it wasn't me who took them I just have copies, but yeah that was an awesome concert. I don't know if I'll be able to go to this one because I went with a friends family last time, and I don't have anyone to go with now! I need more friends lol.

help, online presale, we need a special offer code or password to buy presale tickets....how do we get it?
this may help:
What is an Internet Presale? (http://www.ticketmaster.com.au/h/faq.html)
Occasionally, some events will be available to purchase over the Internet in advance of the general public onsale. These presales frequently require a password that may be distributed by the venue, artist, team, or promoter of either the event or the presale, or distributed by Ticketmaster. Often, these passwords are distributed to exclusive members of clubs or certain other types of groups and cannot be offered to members of the public. Links may be published on the Event Information page at the time of presale. Ticketmaster contact centre and Customer Service representatives usually cannot give out passwords. If an event is scheduled for presale and we are authorized to publish so in advance, the event page may list an "Internet Presale" date in the ticket onsale information. When entering your presale password into a promotional page, window or box in an email, please ensure you are entering it in the appropriate box: A presale password is not the same as your My Account password.
Internet presales are usually sold from an allotment of seats, which may not reflect the same availability during the public onsale. Internet presales provide the advantage of exclusive purchasing windows in advance of the public onsale, which often results in less people competing for the pool of available seats. However, Internet presales may also have limited seating available in various areas - these presales are intended as advance purchasing windows and do not necessarily provide access to better seating. In fact, it is possible that you may be able to obtain tickets for better seats at the general public onsale than those that you purchase through a presale. We must remind you that Ticketmaster does not offer refunds or exchanges, so you will not be able to replace the tickets you obtain at a presale with other tickets that subsequently become available.

Hey Guys,
For those wanting to get their tickets in the presale the password is 'amylee'. I got my tix @ 12 when it opened however there is very little up for presale. Block W2 was up, but I'd say it would have sold out by now. W4 should still be available today, South stand is not on Sale and the North only has crappy seats about a mile away. If you want Standing Room go for it ASAP, otherwise wait until Monday and be online @9am and you should get some good seats still in the West Stand and most of the North and South. The presale finishes at lunchtime Sunday. I got block W2 Row D the first time I searched and stupid me didn't take them!! But I still got in W2 but a bit further back. Back in '04 I got W1 row F and that was at about 10am the day they went on sale to the public!! Good Luck to you all in the hunt for tickets, hope the password helps. By the way tix are $89.90 ea - $20 more than 04.

Indeed. Unless work schedules change between now and Monday... as it stands, I won't be going.
It's a shame the Perth concert wasn't also on a Saturday... similar to Melbourne and Sydney. I'd have no problem attending then.

My sister bought up a good point tho, that it was odd they were having the concert on a Thursday instead of Friday like last time. If Sydney's not until Saturday night, she thought maybe we might get a Friday concert as well if it's a sell out. After all, it only takes like 3 hours to get back to Sydney?? I would go to so many more concerts in Perth if they had them on better days like Friday and Saturday nights. I missed out on Kelly Clarkson and Live because they were during the week, and when you live in the country it's just too far to come. The only reason why I'm going to Ev is because I absolutely love them. That's it. It's such a bummer that so many people have to miss out. Maybe we should try and get them to go to the Doodly Tavern - Jimmy Barnes and Shannon Noll go - hey that would rock if Ev played there!! ;)

It makes you wonder doesn't it? I just checked the ticketmaster website (8.00pm) and most of the seats have sold out, (apart from the crappy ones up the back) about all you can get now is Standing Room only. I'm glad I was able to get in on the pre-sale otherwise I would have missed out - I've been on holidays for the last 2 weeks and had to start back at work today. Maybe we need to have a Perth Ev Threads recruiting drive....

I guess it's a good reason why we don't get as much bands as we should. I'm really surprised they came back. When I went today to purchase tickets, they were only selling Standing (some weird thing with ticketmaster). Hopefully I can thread myself towards the front. I checked yesterday at the seats left, and they had the crappy ones.
I'd be pretty pissed if some giant fat head was blocking my view, considering I'm quite short.

It's hardly worthwhile now anyway. With "less-than-encouraging" seats left, I've likely missed out on anything good even if my schedule did happen to change within the next few days... allowing me the opportunity to go.

Some criminally-minded people ram-raided the ATM outside the venue. They didn't fix it in time and as a result myself and ALOT of people that didn't come 100% prepared with cash in hand didn't get to buy Ev merch.
Meaning the Tour shirt that should be well worn and loved right now sitting in my draw isn't in my draw because I never got to buy it!

And, as I recall, registered post would take 7-to-14 days. Remember also, Christmas is usually one of Australia Post's busiest periods... so it's likely your tickets are already on their way.
If you haven't received anything by Friday at the latest, I'd say you should probably contact tickmaster.com.

I'm confused as to how there will be a mosh pit at Ev.. I mean, I love them but it's not like they are a hugely heavy band. More dark than heavy.
My standing ticket has some "seat numbers" too, don't worry yourself.
Show is a week away, I can't believe how quickly it crept up!
If only I could have done BDO and MCR, this would have made this year for me already..

Does anyone.. and by "anyone", i mean secret agent/superspy extraordinaire "McKnell".. have any idea what their flight plans are?
I assume it's the only chance anyone in Perth will get a chance to meet the band.
As for the Thursday show, yes, it's a strange night but the band are big enough to draw the crowd regardless. MCR did a Monday night show this week. I've noticed lately a lot of bands are pushing that trend when they play Perth.. It is probably more for ease of travel than any other reason.
Oh yeah, MF'ING SHIHAD as support!
retro_betty
02-08-2007, 06:34 AM
Yes I was thinking the same thing actually (as to what their flight plans were) but I figured that my family might think I'm taking it a bit too far if I want to hang out at the airport until they come.... I guess I'll have to be content with seeing Matthew Pavlich walking into our local supermarket today. I missed out on getting his autograph too :( Oh well I suppose I've got my interview with Courtney Murphy on my radio show to look forward to. Anyhow I digress, any chances Finger Eleven are coming back again to support Ev? Haven't heard much, but it would be good if they did. I got right into them after Ev came last time.

SHIHAD, they used to be called Pacifier hey?
FadingDarkness
02-09-2007, 05:04 AM
No, they used to be called Shihad.
They changed to Pacifier because certain people in power were concerned "Shihad" sounded like "Jihad".
Then they got brains and changed it back.
Apparently quite awesome live, which is a good thing of course!
I missed Finger Eleven last time, (what a mistake!) got there in time for Full Scale (what a mistake!), and made my way closer to the stage throughout the night. Only this time I'm going to make sure I just get myself up there asap this time!

I'm really young (in the 14-18 age range) and so I don't really want anyone identifying me! teehee,
but I'm wearing a Fallen shirt, blk skirt, boots (knee-high, durrr) and lots of makeup. If do, however, see me (I'm the short one) pls don't approach me. My mum'll freak out. Yerrs, my mum decided to come with me.
Is that weird?
She'll probably sitting down with earplugs, talking to my friends mum going 'so how was ur day?' whilst we're jumping and screaming.
ps i think there is a good reason for a moshpit, dude: once you hear the music live, I'm sure you'll wanna jump around with everyone else.
plus you can get up close to the band! cmon, isn't that a good enough reason?
anywho, 5 days until i see he bestest band eva, (get it?)

I just received a reminder email from Ticketmaster about the concert and it says it starts at 8.00. I'm thinking that time would be for the support band. I'm not sure yet when the gates would open but will check and post the information here.

At the Brisbane concert Shihad started first just after 8pm and actually went for nearly an hour or so. Then there was about a 5 minute interval while they arranged stage stuff.
Shihad seemed very nice, really engaging towards the audience trying to get everyone involved.
Have loads of fun and best of luck if you see the band before or after.

I'm actually going to leave school early, because on a Thursday I finish at 5:00, which means I'll end up home by 6, be ready by about 7 and then go to the concert which will take an hour, since it's a late night shopping which means heavy traffic and it's quite far from where I live. And that would leave me no time to pace myself out.
Oh the drama :o
If I happen to see any familiar faces, you may have me politely tap on your shoulder and ask if you are from EvThreads, and if the person is not, then I'll just make an utter fool of myself.

I'm just sorry I'll be missing an opportunity to meet with some of you...
Still, I suppose I can take solace in the fact that I'll be working just a few short kilometres from Challenge Stadium on the day of the concert. Maybe if EV play loud enough, and the wind is blowing in my direction... I'll hear them. :p
Thank you for the info Unicorn :)
I'm undecided about the top I will be wearing(waiting for what the weather will be like for that day) but am sure I will wear my short layered black skirt with my black boots.
I have an Ev Threads tag made up will stick it on my bag so feel free to say Hi if you want. I have long dark hair and am quite short.
I would really love to meet the whole band. I am guessing that after the concert is the best time?

i might draw an 'evthreads' tag on my hand. who knows?
As for what I'm wearing. Golly, I haven't thought of that :sigh:
Can you buy Ev merchandise from the concert? If so, where exactly? I don't have a clue how all this works, so please do tell.
It would be really lovely to meet some EvThreaders :)
You should be able to buy stuff at the merchandise stands. It would be located near the front entrance of Challenge Stadium based on the latest concert I went to there.
I have seen some prices from previous concerts in Australia. Tour t-shirts are $45 and the hoodies are $70. I'm not sure about other items yet.
I have found out that the gates open at 7.00 pm will defintely need to get there earlier if I hope to get a good spot.
Looking forward to meeting you all and the concert :D

Excellent show!!!.. Shihad Rocked as well.
The setlist was the same as other aussie shows, but during one break between songs, They started playing AC/DC's Highway to hell for a few bars and a chorus, then Amy said something like " Thats all I know "... lol.. enjoyed that.
I'm going to totally fangasm. I met Amy and Terry :D:D:D:D:D:D

Oh dear sweet Joseph! The concert was amazing, and I still can not believe that the band were only a few metres away from me. I was standing near Terrys side also. Amys vocals were flawless.
I'm still can't believe it. That was a reallly great show, and I don't think I can complain about anything. The only minus was being short.
I bought a hoodie and a t shirt before the show, and I'm quite happy, although the shirt is extra small and it is still big.
aido727 The girl who asked you if you were on Evboards (by mistake), and was in front of you the entire show, was me :)
Loved the show. :):):)
Was Amy just saying that out of all Aus shows, we were the best, or was she just messing with our heads. Well, either way I think the Perth audience were very supportive.
EDIT:
P.S Highway to Hell. Now that cracked me up
P.P.S Was it just me, or was Ritchie talking to some guy right next to the entrance of gate 2 was. Because I swear it was him, unless it's just some guy who looks exactly like him and happens to have an American accent. I kept staring at him like he rose from the dead or something.

Hey! Wanna know about the show?
It f^%#ing ROCKED, it was amazing... i did spare a thought for you
;)
We we're allowed to bring cameras or use them :(, they were all confiscated which right royally sucked, but i did a video of a couple of seconds of a few songs from a camera phone, and it looked like crap from we're we were sitting.... plus i couldn't post it up here coz its from a phone.
john was wearing what looked like a band top, black jeans.
amy wore a tartan long red skirt, knee-high boots and a black tank top, she was rocking out majorly, spinning around and pumping fists in the air.
i couldnt see what the others were wearing, and terry was too busy thrashing around on stage!
when shihad came on, i thought all there songs sounded a bit the same, but my best friend didn't, so wheatever, but we were all hanging out for ev!
when the curtain came up and the first line of Sweet Sacrifice came on, the crowd went crazy, stomping their feet - there was a HUGE noise.
it wasn't a very loud concert, quite quiet compared to others.
the music:
Weight of the World - was awesome. the guitars were heavy, terry was having a great time flicking his hair everywhere! Amy sang the really, really high bit, where the guitars go psycho.
Going Under - This was another highlight, for sure. I think its really well known (more than the other TOD songs) from fallen, the crowd applause was great.
my friend and i were singing along (incredibly loudly) at the top of our lungs, and these two guys kept staring at us (who we later learnt were french, much to our amusement).
The Only One - sounded great. much like on cd, without the cool yet weird but at the beginning.
Cloud Nine - was definetely a major highlight for me. the band sounded amazing.
Lithium - another huge applause, probably from the amound of radio play it gets. Amy sang it really well, and the band looked like they were having fun.
its very true to the cd version.
Good Enough - this was stunning, my mum loved it! she sang beautifully, with passion and nailed all the high parts.
somewhere in here they played a few bars of Highway to Hell, which was incredibly random, until amy said "okay, that all i know!"
i originally though they were doing zero.
Haunted - the beginning wasnt on this one, like on Fallen.
Tourniquet - one of my most fave Fallen songs, so I loved it as you can guess!
CMWYS - the piano sounded funny :D but it was still great.
Imaginary - no strings! :( thats okay though, she did the piano bit in the middle, which sounded really cool with the band.
BMTL - john did the male vocals for this. another highlight.
Whisper - originally i got this confused with My Last Breath (idiot) before realising it was whisper. the latin part was cool!
All That I'm Living For - you could tell john loved this one.
Lacrymosa - the absolute best, in my opinion.
Encore: they went off stage, and everyone was screaming for about a full 5 minutes, til they came back on again.
amy said "okay, you want more? on one condition, if you all sing along!'
she let us sing parts of My Immortal, everyone was waving their phones or lighters in the air.
Your Star - a disco ball was spinning for this song, creating tiny lights around the staduim, like little stars. it was a great effect, but the guitars in this we're too wonderful.
i loved the concert, it was so worth the money, i hope you will have a chance to see their next one.
merch: they ran out of awesome ev badges, keyrings and posters which i wanted INCREDIBLY badly, and the hoodies and tops were waaaay to overpriced for my limited budget!
im considering siging up for evfanclub, thats how badly i wanted a poster!
im so sorry you couldnt come,
but there will be another time.
it was great, the best night ever!

The only bag that I saw that night was worn by a girl in the line ahead of me at Door 2. On the side of it, it simply read "c***". Strange.
I enjoyed the show alot.. Shihad were pretty cool but they could have cut their set by about 3 songs if they wanted to leave the best impression they could as the crowd were getting antsy. Last song was sweet though, and the lead is very entertaining.
Ev came out and for some reason I wasn't really into it at first..
(WHHOOOAA Stop right there, fanboy - Step away from the "quick reply" and resist the urge to tell me how much more of a fan you are then I am. I don't give a **** and have probably listened to them just as much or longer than you anyhow.)
..but by the time Tourniquet hit, from then on I was REALLY into the show.
By "into", I mean forgetting everything else in the world and appreciating what was really happening right there and then in front of us. The Set-up was a massive improvement over the 2004 show.
Unfortunately no Even In Death or My Last Breath like last time but they have too much new material to get out there. I liked how they chose to showcase the songs with more of a rock bent as it is probably what the majority of us want.. It also gives you more appreciation of the downtime ones too. If they ever do an acoustic cd though, I want it.
Speaking of quieter songs, hearing Good Enough was awesome both for Amy's voice and because for the first time all night the obnoxious chick directly behind me in my ear that thought she had Amy Lee's voice (whilst in fact having the voice of a mating Bull Elephant) finally shut her mouth. Which was awesome because it meant myself and the others stuck near her could finally hear the voice they actually wanted to hear.
Speaking of Bull Elephants, did anyone see ex-Aussie Idol Casey Donovan jumping up and down in the cheap seats?
I was about 3 people back behind some cute chick from Geraldton and next to a couple that were so close they virtually took up the space of one person. I'm tall, but was near two other tall guys so I bet some people were pissed that they were stuck behind us. If they didn't like it they should have got in line sooner!
No annoying shoving people, which was nice. Unfortunately there were the annoying loud people, but what can you do? My only surprise was most of the ones yelling stupid **** out appeared to be people in their late Thirties/early Forties!
'Cloud Nine' was one song that didn't grab me by the throat when I first listened to it, but after last night it's one of my favourites of the new set, the slow build to Amy going off was great.
'My Immortal' was surreal. Having virtually everyone in the building singing along softly was something special that I'm not going to forget for a very long time. The Highway To Hell thing was funny. They sounded a little too good at playing the start of 'Blind' by Korn at one point!
I like how the tracks from Fallen have evolved on the live shows, with some of the guys having a bit more freedom to add more in parts. And while I still have a preference of Fallen over The Open Door, Door is catching up quick especially with performances like the one last night.
John is a pretty entertaining guitarist all round. I didn't see much of Terry besides his head down but that's what he does best, what a great guitarist!
Every time I looked at Rocky he had the most massive grin on his face, so he looked like he was having fun too! Seeing Amy again was awesome, she's even better than last time and the new songs are really giving an indication of how much of a range her voice is capable of. And the best part is it'll probably just get better and better.
How good were the people spraying water :)
People using camera phones only for a security guard to stand up and point the light at them disrupting everyone else's view in the process until the phones were put away sucked.
The guy near me who kept yelling "Triple Cheese" all night at Amy's bodyguard must have thought he was the first guy ever to say it. I felt sorry for the poor bodyguard, he probably hears it about 90 times at every show.
No XXL Hoodies for me :(
I hung around out the back for a short while hoping to at least see the band before I went home but only saw a crusty old security guard with a dodgy european accent tell everyone "the band has left, why would I lie to you?".. then a minute later Rocky and the strange new emo guitarist that poses like Corey Taylor from the Dandy Warhols passed by in a car.
So funny. If you're going to lie at least do it convincingly. To put it in simple math for the crazy european security guard:
Amy is the most famous and central person in the band. Record companies with any interest in keeping safe their highest moneymakers wouldn't allow their artists out of the country without a bit of home country security on the "trust" side of things. So everyone's seen Amy's enormous bodyguard on the dvd. It's kind of hard to believe that the band had "all left" when her bodyguard was walking around in clear view out the back of the building!
I had work early this morning so I couldn't stay. :(
Awesome night all up, incredible vocals and awesome music and the atmosphere to match. The noise just pre-Encore was huge!! :)
Can't wait for the next one.
Just out of interest, what time did Terry and Amy end up coming out? Did you guys get to talk, or did they just drive past?

that show was the most awesome thing ever! anyone else feel the whole stadium quake with those bass kicks during the sound test... SO COOL!!!
the band seemed really energetic, like more than i expected or have seen/heard of before, they really seemed into that show... most likely because it was so obvious to see that we were so excited and supportive the whole show through! Amy sure did like to twirl and then do a few full-body head-bangs =D
through out the whole show i could hear a faint sound of everyone singing along and it was a great atmosphere... having said that, My Immortal when Amy told us all to sing, that was fantastic! everyone was singing along perfectly and it was a real special moment =)
when that curtain went up and Amy was in full view, me along with most of the mosh just stood there... almost stunned i was just staring thinking: ... woah
it took about 3 or 4 songs for it to sink in to me that AMY RIGHT THERE WITHIN LIKE 50m OF ME! (i was about 8 people deep into the mosh, great view! especially when she was on the piano, the light was directly behind her and it looked really dreamy and cool, and when she looked up it was in my ... and about 100 other peoples... general direction)
PS: heya bloodpigs! i had a feeling you were one of these crazy people on this thread =P

Yes I must admit my $90 was well spent, except I was pretty pissed when the Security dude tore my hole for having a camera, and made me miss most of 'Cloud Nine'. All I got was one ****ty blurry photo, so I wasn't about to waste my time and try again when he got agro at me. Like hello!! how about the other 100 or so people with video phones?? Talk about double standards.... thank goodness my brother-in-law took care of him otherwise it would have ruined the whole night. :( Their setlist was great too, it was good that they played a few extra songs from Fallen, and the good ones from TOD. Amy was fantastic again, except I think they could have turned her mic up a bit louder, because sometimes she got a bit drowned out by the boys. Well, at least it sounded like that from the West stand where I was.
Speaking of Bull Elephants, did anyone see ex-Aussie Idol Casey Donovan jumping up and down in the cheap seats?
Just out of interest, what time did Terry and Amy end up coming out? Did you guys get to talk, or did they just drive past?
You know I seen someone that looked an awful lot like Casey Donovan in the standing area when Ev was setting up (I often like to play Spot-A-Celebrity at events like these) and I thought, 'Nah, that can't be her, like, why would she come to Perth to see Ev when she could just go where ever she comes from?'. I never really gave it much thought after that. I'm glad somebody else recognised her as well. I'm not going crazy after all.
Just out of interest, what time did the traffic jam clear? We were parked on the right side at the front (on grass area near the embankment); we sat there for like 10 minutes and none of the cars were moving. The brother-in-law came to the rescue again, put the ute in 4wd and drove over the embankment and the rope and out on the road. I swear we would have been stuck there until midnight otherwise!!
We seen the limo's go past at about 11.05pm, I'm assuming it was Ev inside? They left pretty quickly, I'm surprised anyone got to meet them? I got close in 2004, as my Dad parked right out the front of door 1, and the limo was waiting for them about 10 metres away, but we couldn't stay cause we had a 2 hour drive back home. Bummer. Last night I was hoping we could catch up to them so I could yell out the window as we drove past them, but we went in the other direction back towards Subi and thru the tunnel. They went left, where ever that takes them?? (Sorry, I'm a country girl.. go figure)
Oh well... so begins the three year wait for their return... Let's hope we have a beaut new venue by then!!

I think they could have turned her mic up a bit louder, because sometimes she got a bit drowned out by the boys. Well, at least it sounded like that from the West stand where I was.
I think she was having problems with her mic, because there was about 2 or 3 times where I saw her try hint something to the guy back stage about her mic.
To answer a few questions, FadingDarkness, it would've been sometime around 11:15-11:30 that Amy and Terry were signing stuff.
They were traveling in like a white Tarago van, which i thought was odd, but I guess it was kinda inconspicuous.
Anyway Amy and Terry were both champs for sticking around and signing for everyone, that totally made my night.
I'm surprised more people from here didn't stick around for the signings? Because if you were there, there's a fair chance you'll remember me... I think I was a bit rowdy and randomly chatty after my alcoholic beverages. ;)

Wow! I appreciate all the in-depth coverage guys. While it does serve to remind me of what I missed, it's also kind of comforting, in a strange way.
As for travelling in Tarago vans... that's highly likely. I caught sight of about three unmarked white vans sitting outside one of the main hotels in the city a couple of hours before the concert started. I'm assuming that's where EV were staying while they were here. I didn't see them leave unfortunately, though there was a significant security presence in both the foyer and just outside the hotel itself. They had to be staying there.

Last night.... WAS AWESOME! I wish I could go to it all over again!
Loved the Opening and how the night started with my fave song too :D
Amy's voice was unbelievable, no words can describe how good a singer she is. I loved the skirt she had, being able to continually twirl and running from one side of the stage to the other and still be able to carry on singing without a problem...so energetic...it was brilliant!
Was funny when they did highway to hell.. hehe.. go them!
Shame about the no camera's... but the night was still the BEST night EVER!
I so hope they come back to Perth again...soon.*cross fingers*
What was this about them signing stuff later/after? I didn't know anything about that otherwise i would have stayed longer :(

OMG I read last night on wikipedia that evanescence had been killed in a plane crash... and obviously i went completely crazy i stayed up for hours trying to find somewhere which said otherwise and since everyone whos posted have said that they performed last night lets me know this definitely is not true! I am sooooo pleased and have my fingers crossed they will come to the UK very soon!

My sister and I went to the Evanescence concert in Perth on Thursday night, i was soooo excited! It was so cool to see Evanescence!!!!! :D
:rotflmao: It was so cool when they started playing Sweet Sacrifice, but that song seemed to be over so fast! All the songs were great! Amy has such a great voice.
My favorite part would've had to be when they played My Immortal and everyone sung, it sounded so cool! I got so excited when i saw the roadies put the piano back on stage before evanescence came out for their encore, i just knew it was gonna be my immortal!!! I also loved the piano in Your Star! It was so fast and sounded great. I loved all the songs, they were all great...i wish it was Thursday again!!!
I was gonna get a poster but by the time i got to the front of the merch line, they had all sold out!! bummer.
Ooh you guys got things signed!? That woulda been pretty cool.
 oh my gosh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was the best concert i have ever been to!!!:D

im such a ****ing ****ing idiot....i really wanna hurt my self
i stayed out the back waiting for the band....but my boyfriend was at the motel by him self and wanted to pick me up, so at about 11:20 he picked me up...then about 10 mins later, my new found friend rang me and said he's just met amy and terry.
im such a ****ing idiot....i hate myself.
by the way, this was one of the best nights in my life. way better than the 2004 concert. amy just looked gorgeous. i took a roll of film so i'll get that developed and post some up here.

It was this picture, and it had Evanescence written along the bottom in gold writing. I should have got one now that I think about it.
You mean no one from evthreads got things signed?
Boy do I feel like a tool for shouting out "wooo yer evthreads.com" before and during the signing... hahahaha that means only Amy and Terry would've known what I was on about... if that's not half embarrassing. :o

I should have got one now that I think about it.i think they overuse that picture. honestly, i have a poster, another newspaper-size tour poster, another newspaper cutting (smaller), several magazine cuttings, PLUS the lithium cover, all with that picture on it.
And the thing is, there is another really similar one taken at the same time, but it never seems to get used.
anyway enough about that picture. sorry.</rant>

HAHA. oh well at least Amy & Terry knew that YOU knew what you were talking about. if that makes any sense. at all.
hahaha I get what ya mean, and that's true. I'm fairly sure they heard cause they smiled and Amy just laughed a bit. At least they know that even over here, in our isolated city, there are evthread peeps. :D
I have to say though, if they were looking for beautiful weather in Aus, particularly in Perth where they had a couple of days off... they may have been a bit let down. Strange February weather. :/
Kinda off-topic... but it's raining pretty consistently outside, and I'm going to the Snow Patrol concert at Belvoir Amphitheatre in a couple of hours. Please make the rain go away! I don't know what the protocol is with outside concerts + rain... but whatever it is, I don't really feel like being rained on for 4 hrs.

Anyway I hope the Snow Patrol concert goes well. I'm seeing Ev in a few hours so it'll be great. :)

To Chaosmosis and those of you who missed out on the concert, go to Youtube and type in the search bar 'Evanescence Perth' or Evanescence Melbourne' and there should be some video's for you to watch. The Perth one's are only 30 seconds long, but there are 3 where the sound is ok. There are some full length ones from Melbourne but I couldn't watch those for some reason  Anywho, I was going to ask another question... but now I've forgotten what it was.

I got one of the shirts too...
I'm still so annoyed with myself that i didnt stay back for the signings and to meet Amy... dammit!
Now there definately has to be a next time for them to come to Perth... :D If not I will go over East if I have to...
hmm, so me being new to this whole message board.. has anyone posted pics from perth's concert? if so.. where? Managed to get one right at the very end but its not very good coz I was too far back.. you can JUST see Amy at the piano hehe

See the above post Miz Mouse... it's from a camera phone... and it's short, but hey! at least it's something right?
When Ev, come back next time (and I say 'when' so I don't jinx it!) if they do a Perth concert during the week (except Friday) I think I'll be heading East to see them and make a holiday out of it. Maybe some of us Perthites can go together?? An Evanescence Road trip?? Hey, they cross the Nullabor to go to the grand final.. we can do it for Ev! ;)

No Way! That means I missed meeting Terry and Amy by about 10 minutes or LESS! ARRGH!!
Guess that means Plan B: I'll have to become famous and therefore meeting them all will be easier!
(Or I could just wait patiently for another 3-300 years..)
On a side-note, last time Amy was in town she hired a keyboard from some place in Subiaco I believe.. someone on Perthbands.com forums (Back before it got taken down and then returned) knew from where and which one was hired for the show. I wonder if Amy hauls a Piano from town to town now, or whether they just hire around.

IU would have loved to meet my idols.
But I s'pose I wouldn't have been able to stay behind anyways, coz I had school the next day.
But REGRET. I assured myself they wouldn't do any singings in Perth.

Aye.
Provided there is another... I've already told everyone at work that I definitely will NOT be working on that day. Granted, it's years off yet, but the reason I've missed the last two concerts here is because I didn't plan ahead with my work schedule. If they come by again, for a new album, I'll definitely be there!
This is a late response to this. Was very lucky nothing major was wrong with my computer.
I didn't put my name tag on (got a bit damaged with the wet weather that day). Arrived at Challenge Stadium after 4.00 the line wasn't too long which was great.
I was in the second row right in the centre so I had a great view of everyone. There was a bit of drama with one girl trying to push in front of me but was able to hold my place. There was some great people standing beside me who didn't take any crap from this person and looked out for me. The concert was amazing one of the best nights of my life.
I loved every song that was played even the older songs. The highlights for me were definitely Lithium, Good Enough, Lacrymosa, Your Star and My Immortal. I loved the different intro in Bring Me To Life and the extended version of Call Me When You're Sober. It was great seeing Amy singing the higher notes in Whisper. It was great to see all the guys rocking out especially Terry.
I wasn't able to take any photos unfortunately because of how close I was to the front of the stage. Hopefully there will be some great photos and review out next week in the papers.
I didn't have much of a voice left after the concert when buying my t-shirt  They ran out of hoodies unfortunately and was unlucky not to get a poster.
I actually got to meet Amy and Terry and got my ticket and some CD covers signed :D There were no photos or contact allowed Richie was pretty strict on this unfortunately. Amy was so nice and thanked me for coming! We are pretty much the same height as well. Terry was great too although the meet was very short because they were all getting ready to leave in the van.
There was only a small group of us left so waved goodbye. I think I yelled out come back to Perth soon (was getting a bit late).
Thanks to the person letting me know about the Youtube videoclips of the concert. It was great reliving it :)

I literally just got tears in my eyes when I read about how there were signings out the back of Challenge Stadium.
I'm so sad now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd give anything to meet the band in person... unfortunately we couldn't have hung around after the show anyway, as we were being carted around in a limousine, and the driver was pretty keen to get outta there.
I bought a $70 black and purple hoodie and the poster, but I bought them before the concert coz I knew it'd mostly be sold out afterwards.
My favourite songs were Lithium, Sweet Sacrifice and Good Enough bought me and my boyfriend to tears because it was so moving.
I CAN'T BELIEVE THERE WERE SIGNINGS!!
Does anyone have a time machine I can borrow?

hey all,
this is my first post. i was at the evanescence show near the front of the line, i was front row inside. i dont know if u remember me or not.
ah well, heres a review i wrote up from my myspace (www.myspace.com/mon_tk) . go there to check out pix i have when i met them. theres ones with john and terry (since amy didnt want any and rocky wasnt too well), i also have terrys guitar pick, a setlist and my good friend got rocky's drumstick standing next to me :)
i bort the tour shirt with the big open door on the back with the dates.
i dont have any pix from the show cos they didnt allow us...but if i find any on websites ill post links :)
so yeah heres my review...
it all began pretty much on valentines day. or "the biggest hallmark holiday of the year" as i like to call it. after looking up the timetables for plan arrivals from adelaide (955am, 115pm), i planned out my journey over at the transperth website. i had to leave early. lo and behold, everything was late. and so u miss ur connection transport. typical. i aimed to get to domestic airport by like 945am....i ended up getting there at 1030.SIGH. the girls and the rent-a-car desk, were kind enough to tell me that they hadnt seen anyone come through. so i sat and read harry potter and the order of the phoenix (thort id refresh my brain before hte new movie comes out in july (same day as the simpsons movie)) and listened to my iPod
anyway, 1pm rolled aorund and i saw some familiar faces. these guys were not fans, rather, ebay sellers. i hate u. so blah blah blah with the help of Jon Toogood from Shihad (whom ive met a fair few times before), we found evanescence getting baggage. i wished Amy a happy valentines day, to which she replied "aww thank you! you too sweetie!" and patted me on the shoulder. (liek oh ma gawd...she touched me!! lol :P ) anyway, they all ended up signing my stuff. Amy however has a thing about fotos when she doesnt have make up. like she looks ugly!?!?!?!? WTF!! so yeah, no foto with her...and no foto with rocky too...hes a top bloke, but has been crook all tour... john and terry were nice enough to give us a foto. terry gave me his guitar pick after i told him that it was quite inspiring to know that he had a stroke but still continued to play guitar. after they left, i went home :)
so yesterday, the 15th, i lined up at challenge stadium around 2pm. there was already bout 15-20 ppl there already.anyway, by about 5 oclock i bort a tour shirt.when i looked at my ticket i realised that my ticket was actually for standing on the 2nd level...NOT the floor. boy was i pissed off.about 5 mins before doors opened, some dude who had two spare tickets and sold one, swapped the other floor ticket with me to get me in. THANKS BEN!!! we got in and we were front row, toward the right. in front of terry and a keyboard set up for Amy. wat an awsum show! it was soooo good. shihad were awsum, even tho it seemed i was the only one that was rocking out. comfort me was sweeeeet. evanescence came on. the lighting. the smoke. it was all wikid. Rocky's intense double kicking definetely gave us all heart palpitations. sooo good. Amy looked as gorgeous as usual (black singlet and tartan skirt pretty much held together with safety pins..and boots) and it was an awsum show.the songs were insanely well done and there was even a spontaneous cover of ACDC's "highway to hell", but Amy only knew the words to the chorus (ie. the title of the song)--this was one of my highlights of the night! the biggest highlight for me, besides amy coming up right in front of us like a metre away, would have to be "my immortal" it was so powerful....she was sitting at her piano that they rolled out...her face directly toward us and her head blocking the light so there was just coloured beams of light around her and hte piano...and her insanely magnificent voice playing along...WOW...we werent allowed phones or cameras as per request of hte band, but htat would have been the best picture...i hope sum lucky cameraman got that pic.
end of the nite they all threw out picks and drumsticks. shannon got rockys USED drumstick and gave it to sarah...i would have done the same. and mr nice african security man wanted to give me a pick, but i had my back turned so he gave it to the screeching girls next to me...but its ok...i already gots a pick :) ... but then he gave me a set list...so now, i dont have to guess what was played :P hten we went to maccas and came home. an AWSUM day! now i cant wait for SOUNDWAVE FESTIVAL...and NEW FOUND GLORY with PARAMORE APRIL 11 AT METRO CITY!!! :D
SETLIST:
1. sweet sacrifice

This show was AWESOME. Far better than the 04 concert, in my opinion. I was about 4 rows from the front so the view was pretty good. The set was great, we predicited they'd open with Sweet Sacrifice. The perfect first song I thought. Amy is absolutely stunning and the guys rocked pretty hard. Bummed I missed out on the signings! Here's hoping they come back to the west soon :)

Heya, everyone! It's been a while since I've been on here! Anyway, I just wanna say that I went to the concert in Perth recently and it was hell wicked!!! Amy Lee looked soooo beautiful and the band totally Rocked!!! Woot! I'm so glad I went! And I was on the third row, not all that far from the stage. I wsan't too near either, which was good cuz my ears were already ringing when I came out afterwards. The concert ended too soon, though.
Amy, if you read this, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE COME BACK TO PERTH!!!!!!!! I love you so mcuh and we really loved having you here! I was siting on N16..
pretty far back, eh, but the show still KICKED ASS!
I have heard in other parts of this forum that there was a guy giving out the new Within Temptation promotional DVD after a Ev concert in the eastern states. Did anyone notice anyone like that in Perth? Has anyone seen them available in CD shops in Perth?

Apparently 78 Records were said to be carrying several copies. Their online listing suggests otherwise, as do the guys at the store themselves.
Thank you for the info Chaosmosis. I'm not having any luck in finding this.

I'm contacting several other stores at the moment... though I've yet to hear back from any of them.
