I haven't heard anything yet.... tho Tim said the band were flying out at 7am or 8am UK time this morning so they'll still be in the air if that's true. Tho 6cm dilated yesterday - the baby should have been born by now unless he/she was trying to make a long dramatic entrance like I'm told I did.

Yeah, that wouldn't be fair and maybe there are more important things in life, but for some people having a gig you were looking forward to cancelled a few hours beforehand is a pretty big deal. It's upsetting and disappointing, so although everyone is happy for john, there are bound to be disappoointed people who are very upset about this.

Congrats John and Shelly! :) I agree with "Amy_Darkangelofrock ", Amy will make a good aunty/baby sitter. :p As far as the concert, for those that will be going there to find out it was cancelled, why not make the best of it and turn it into one big huge fan fair get-together/congradulation for the new little ev family member? Merch can still be sold/bought, music can still be played, and people can still give their gifts that will be sent to the band later, kind of one big huge baby shower for John and Shelly! ;)

Yeah, but you can't always plan a birth. Even if there's a due date, the baby could come early or late and then the arrangements would have been useless. I'm sure they'll do something to compensate everyone who missed out on the show, and I'm sure they'll come back.

But don't foreget the whole band is like one big family, so it's not just John and Shelly that this affects, it's the whole band. If your sister or brother was having a baby, you would/should be there too, right? It's the same here. IMO anyways. :)

Yeah... the whole band and their partners are like one big family. Amy said "we want to be with her" not "he wants to be with her".

I'm guessing the tour was planned to end just before the due date and it came a few days early - I doubt they would have planned the tour straight over the due date but you know what the music industry is like.

Don't get me wrong - I can understand how people feel. I'd be devastated if my show was being cancelled without being rescheduled because I love this band... theres just something about their music that captivates me. And hey, theyre the band that prompted me to give up on the idea of doing anything electronics based after I finish uni and work in the music industry - which has made me happy. Tho at the same time I would have felt really bad if I went to a show that wasn't cancelled which meant one of the band missing their kid being born.

Seems just yesterday my little boy was born and he's 5 months old today! Crazy! And he was 5 days late, so for every little guy that comes late, someone's gotta come early to even out the averages.

Also, it was just me and my hubby at the hospital when my baby was born because the rest of my family and his was too far away. I can totally understand cancelling to try to be there as soon as possible.

Perhaps they stopped the labor for the sake of the baby, though they usually don't do that if labor's only a week early. But that could be the case if she was already that dialated and hasn't had the baby yet. Also, do not underestimate the power of the epidural, that's some good stuff!
