i just wanted to thank you for being so down to earth and staying grounded. i was amazed at how nice you were when i met you in toronto. you really took the time to get personal with your fans and thats not very common in most famous people.

thanks for the amazing new album. i love the open door! i have been a fan for 4 years now, and i didn't think that i could love you guys anymore until i seen you live at the kool haus and got to meet you all before and after the show! (i was the one who held the sign that said "we came 1900 miles to see you")

can't wait to see you play live again. i have tickets for 3 shows (toronto, ottawa and winnipeg<---in my home province! ha ha).

Okay, first I want to take this opportunity to say that you and the guys were AWESOME when I saw you in Dallas. And also thank you for coming out in the cold afterwards to sign my third copy of The Open Door b/c the second copy I had originally intended for you to sign was forgotten back on my computer over 300 miles away. Oh well, It helped the album stay on top of the Billboard charts. And finally, I wanted to say a big thank you for the artistry and vision that you express in your music. I'm already looking forward towards your next album. Judging by how much more incredible The Open Door is to the already excellent Fallen, I'm sure it'll be amazing. I first want to say that the album is awesome! I try not listening to it so much so that I don't get tired of it, but it's seriously the only thing I listen to on my mp3 nowadays! Hey Amy,

I just want to say that I saw you and the rest of the band perform in Phoenix on October 27th and thought that the entire performance was incredibly awesome! You electiried us right away by coming out and showing so much enthusiasm in Sweet Sacrifice and the guys added onto it by making the music sound, in my opinion, better than it does on the CD. I was especially enthusiastic throughout the whole performance because I did not sit down at any point, I was constantly jumping up and down and dancing, and I sang along to every song because I knew all the words. Your voice was also completely flawless and your outfit made you look so beautiful as it always does. You also gave me three autographs and two hugs afterward. You are not likely to remember me because I am sure I was not the only fan to get an honor like that and it was a very quick meeting, but I was waiting by the gate in the area where the equipment trucks were parked at and was about the sixth or seventh fan to greet you. I also didn't have the time to say "thank you" to you during the meeting either because it was late and I didn't want to take up any more of your time, so I will go ahead and say it now. Thank you for the hugs and the autographs and putting on such an incredible performance. Also, thank you for being so loyal, caring, and sensible to your fans. I have never known anyone to have as good of a personality as you have and I really admire you for that. The concert and the meeting made the night of October 27th the best of my life and it made me fall in love with you guys all over again. I hope you can return to Arizona again soon to put on another unforgettable performance, and, if you do, I will make sure I am apart of the audience once again.

Good luck on your tour in Europe, keep up the incredible work, and say "Hi" to Terry, Rocky, Tim, and John for me. I, as well as everybody else on here, hope to hear from you soon.

If anything, I want to truely thank you and the guys for the music. I've been a fan since the time you first set foot in the UK yet I haven't seen Evanescence live. I'm finally breaking that and travelling the length of the country to come see you all in London two weeks today (wow, it certainly has come round fast!). I've been a fan since I was 15 years old, and now I'm a few months short of turning 19. Evanescence have inspired me and guided me through the most difficult yet important years of my teenage years and may it continue. I can't thank you enough for that.

So many amazing people adore your music and fortunately I've made some fantastic friends just because of the mention of the word "Evanescence...". It's incredible how music brings people together like that. It's incredible how music can change people's lives and how it can influence so many aspects of the world - that's something to be proud of guys!

I don't really know what to say. Well, I will start by telling you how much your music has meant to me. It started in 2002 when I first heard 'Bring Me to Life' in Daredevil, I couldn't believe how much that song spoke to me. Your voice was so haunting and it flowed so wonderfully over the rest of the band...it stuck in my head...and I was too weirded out by how much I connected with the song and the sorrow in your voice. So I pretended that I didn't like it...when in reality it captivated me.

Later, I heard 'Bring Me to Life' on the radio and I fell in love with the song all over again. I talked to a friend of mine about the song and discovered that she had the CD. I borrowed it...and then I had to buy it. The songs on it were even more beautiful than I could have imagined. I finally felt connected with music...all it seems to be these days are people talking about their wealth and their many sexual encounters...it is sickening. But your music is so much more than that. It felt like it was a part of your soul that you were sharing with us...and it made me realize that I was not alone.

In a way your music saved me. I had begun the downward spiral into depression when I was in 8th grade. The cause of my depression had begun in 7th grade but it wasn't until 8th grade that the effect even started to take hold. Your music was an outlet for me; a place for me to get out my sorrow. My mother said that the music was depressing and weird...but it didn't make me feel that way...after listening to it, I was so happy. It vented my emotions for me...as I am a closed up person and am not one to share what I am going through. I felt like I was alone and drowning in the confusion that was my parents unhappy marriage. You sharing these experiences with me made such a difference...I think that I would have fallen a lot faster if it wasn't for your music. It was dark...and I felt dark...and it was good to not be the only one. I began to write poetry and draw/design clothes. I actually started drawing rediculous Mideval dresses and such even before I discovered Evanescence...that you had a similar taste to me in such costumes was another thing that attracted me to this band. :D

I think that I listened to 'Fallen' for about three years straight. It was the only CD I even bothered to keep in my CD player (but I recently lost it...I mixed it up with my Snow Patrol CD and my Anna Nalick CD and their cases and then I found the Fallen CD case...but it had my Snow Patrol CD in it...grr). And I frequently checked online to find out when the new CD was coming out. I was soo glad that was coming out. I couldn't believe it. I nearly screamed when I found out. And as someone who loves your darker songs...like 'Haunted' and 'Whisper', I was incredibly excited that the new CD was less 'pop' than the first...and even darker.

When I first heard 'Call Me When You're Sober', I wasn't really impressed with it. I adore the metaphors that you use; as someone who is fascinated by English literature/poetry and deconstructing it to find deeper meanings that really appealed to me. But when I heard the entire CD I was blown away. I loved it. The music was stronger and darker. And so beautiful. The song that I instantly connected with was 'Like You', not because I had lost somebody but because I was in a place that was just as dark. And that song let me feel. I had spent all my time trying to survive the atmosphere at home that I had become numb in order for me to keep going. But that song broke down all those barriers because I could feel the sorrow in your voice. Those lyrics were so haunting...yet I could completely relate to them. I felt that pain...about myself and my unhappiness...it wasn't brought on by anyone's death...but by depression so deep I didn't even understand the cause of it. So thank you Amy for helping me to cry and let myself go. Thank you so much for that.

Wow, this has turned into an incredibly long letter. Well, Amy thank you so much for your music and your meaniful lyrics. They have moved me in more ways than I know how to express.

I have seen you twice live, in 2004 in the Hordern Pavillion with 5000 people squashed in so bad that we couldnt even clap & in Feb 2007 at the Syd Ent Center, where u said that we made u deaf & u thanked us for it. That show was amazing & your opera note you hit in the middle of Weight of the World was flawless, just like everything about you. I hope to see you again in Australia & this time I plan on seeing more shows.

Well I hope to actually meet you in person someday as it is a goal of mine. I know that things are not that good at the moment with the drama surrounding John & Rocky. I hope that you get through it & that you take Ev to the next level. The Open Door rocks, Fallen is a masterpiece & I am sure the next album will be pure magic. I've no idea whether you'll even see this, and I sort of doubt it what with you having been on here recently, and I'm guessing you're pretty busy rehearsing for tour and being married, but you know? I'm gonna say it all the same.

Recently, upon finding out about this being your last tour ever of the TOD and last tour for at least a good few years, there was understandable upheaval in my household. The possibility of never getting to see my favourite band live again (due to the fact I'll mostly be snowed in with debts at University by the time you come back....) was just too horrific for me to imagine and a great fuss was made.

But, luckily for me, I have an over-generous mother with a small savings account, however, big enough to afford to get me to see Evanescence just one more time.

I first saw you live on the 6th September 2006, in the most amazing setting I could possibly imagine. You inspire me so much with your piano and music and I told you so then.
& in 4 days time I will be flying alll the 4,000+ miles from the UK to Miami, Florida JUST to see Evanescence.
My friends think I'm insane.
They're probably right, but I enjoy it like that :)

Because, you're worth it.
