Wouldn't such versions appear on the single? I don't buy singles myself so I wouldn't know for sure, but it seems like they'd put different versions (with varying intros/music) of a song on the single release CD.

My local radio station does the same thing, except the one I've heard sounded more like an electronic mix than guitar.. I just assumed it was a radio mix introduced so the DJs could introduce the song, since the original version starts immediately with vocals.

EDIT - If you want to hear it bad enough, you could go to my local station's website and listen to their live stream (http://www.wild955.com) and wait for it to come on. :p

I remember years back, when Bring Me to Life got really popular, there was a remix played on Z100 that sounded more Linkin Park-ish than the original. DJ scratching a bit and a hypeman going "C'mon, c'mon".

I made a remix of Farther Away and CMWYS though they are crap and nothing major has change. For CMWYS, I just took off the piano intro and added the Live ending of the song while in Farther Away I fused the demo with the studio version.

I found some kind of remix for Bring Me to Life. It's like a dance remix, but it's kinda boring. In the beginning it just repeats "save me from the.." over and over a few times to the beat. Then the regular singing starts.

I made a mix a couple of days ago with Farther Away. All I did was add the piano instrumental from the demo to the final edit at "I try to forget you, but without you..." I also added the piano from the end of the demo to the end of the final edit too. It's nothing major, but it's the most I could do without it sounding like a crappy fan mix :p

I also made a Breathe No More mix where I merged the band instrumental to the final edit to make it sound like a studio mix of the ABH version.

And last of all, I also managed to make an Imaginary mix with the added drum part at "Swallowed up by the sound of my screaming..." I made three versions, which included the drum solos from 3 different live performances. Now I can listen to it like it's a studio recording XD

I'm not sure I'd want to hear remixes of Ev songs. Granted I like remixes in general but something about putting Amy's voice over a dance beat just seems wrong to me.

I really don't care for it. It's probably because I'm used to the original and acoustic versions. Honestly, I hate when a song such as "Sober" is taken and remixed into something completely different, like music you'd hear at a dance club. It ruins the song for me ... and it doesn't do the original any justice at all.

Guess I'm just a rocker chick at heart! ;)

Actually that sounds kinda cool. I really love the almost warped piano. My only issue with it was that the vocal would kinda go in and out a bit and that was annoying.

Oh I love that mix. I love the beginning of it where it goes from BMTL to CMWYS then to the whole song. I wish they did more to than just fade it into CMWYS though :/

Hmm, funny, I actually got more emotion out of that remix than from the original. As in, listening to that remix I cried, never happened with the original. And I'm not even into that kind of music.
I think it's the "eee-ee-ee-eee" thingy that it plays sometimes, it's just so incredibly sad-sounding, and it's only played once in the original "Hello".

No, I definitely don't prefer the remix to the original, it just somehow affects me more emotionally. :§confused:

Usually I dislike Evanescence mashups with other artists but the Lady Gaga Bad Romance/Lithium mix was excellent!

Also the Farther Away/Lose Control mix sounds awesome, it's a bonus that both of them are some of my favorite Evanescence songs.

In his remixes, you can't hear Amy's voice 3/4 of the time. His Lithium remix was the worst. It rearranged the whole song, added too much drums, and then a little voice warping.

I guess to some people (like myself) the Ev songs are too deep to turn into dance floor songs. Especially ones from The Open Door.

I don't mind the DS remixes - I think they're done wonderfully and they're different because they're not dance remixes (with the exception of Lithium of course). But my all time favourite DS remix is the Everybody's Fool one. I just LOVE how Alan manipulated Eternal to fit in with the song, it really adds to it.
