Do you know what seating layout they're using? Rexall-place.com has these seating arrangments for concerts. Full, bowl or round. I'm not quite sure on which one they're going to be using.

Alright. So. My fiance bought me/us two tickets to this concert for Christmas! I'm really excited, but nervous too because not only is this my first Ev concert, but it's my first concert ever, period, the end. Oh boy. I'm already so anxious, I can't sleep. But anyway! I hope everyone going has as much fun as I'm going to, though I didn't get floor tickets you lucky people. ^^;

Who's excited?! Two weeks!!!

I'm coming from Saskatoon, and I know how to get to Rexall, but how is the parking down there? Is it horendous?? Is there a bus shuttle from the malls or anything like that? I'm staying right across from Southgate Mall, but I'm not too sure about walking in the parking lot by myself at night.

That was fracken awesome. I guess I'll put a small review here.

After about an hour of my mothers lack of knowlege of the city (we're from Hinton >_>) and countless stops of asking for SIMPLE FREAKING directions, we arrived at the venue. Cusually late, but whatever. We got there at around 7:30-8:00, so we missed the Black Maria (meh), and two songs of stone sour to get merch.

I dodnt mind Stone Sour. I liked the energy they put off (and how they said we were the best venue on tour so far) that they gave off. It was a really raw performance. The seats I had were awesome. not too far, but not super close either. I could see everything really clear, and nothing was blocking my way.

The Evanescence came on. After the long intermission, they tried to emerge from the curtain, but they couldnt get out. The cheering was awesome. All you could hear was the roar from the crowd. After they all got settled, they started blasting out Sweet Sacrifice. Amy's voice is PERFECT. The opera head voice during Weight of the World was breathtaking. Amy is such a funny gal. "We heard a little rumor that people in Edmonton really like to ROCK!" Damn straight. So they played their set, which was AMAZING, then they left after Lacrymossa. Everyone cheered and a few people left. After we kept cheering and cheering, they came back on and played My Immortal, and everyone sang along, and Your Star. It was awesome seeing Amy playing a whole song on the piano with the band.

My life has come full circle XD

Clearly he was mistaken b/c Biff has said repeatedly that nothing beats a Winnipeg audience.

Question for you guys. Was SWQ played at your show?

I'm doing a double-check of the setlist because while it was played at the first few shows this tour, I've heard it's been cut.

I posted in the setlist thread that it was dropped. Would have been nice to see it. I think it was dropped in Calgary as well

Yep, it was. I saw some people saying that it was replaced by Cloud Nine or something, but if I remember correctly, they also played Cloud Nine prior to taking SWQ out, too.

Found a review, sorry if posted:

Lee's ghostly vocals float above Evanescence's sobering set

EDMONTON - Just when we thought we couldn't possibly get any more snow, we were hit with another sprinkling of white stuff on Tuesday night.

Missed it?

That's because it only fell in Rexall Place, as Amy Lee and Evanescence performed one of their haunting opera-rock numbers, Lithium, in front of 9,000 fans.

"I know you get snow all the time but we don't," the Arkansas native explained, almost apologetically.

"So it's cool. We enjoyed it, you tolerated it."

Honestly, it was a nice touch. (Well, except for the light shining behind Lee's head, which was so blinding you couldn't even see her sitting at the piano.)

But we could've used even more flurries of inspiration during their blistering 80-minute set.

While Lee's vocals were crystal clear and her band was suitably imposing -- it was the best audio mix I've heard in Rexall in a l-o-o-o-o-o-ng time -- there was something missing from Tuesday's show.

I can't quite put my finger on it. Perhaps they needed an elaborate set to complement their theatrical-rock numbers -- not just lights and a few L.E.D. stands.

Perhaps Lee, clad in a black tank top and a swirly tartan skirt, needed to engage her fans a little bit more, considering the lead singer of one of the opening bands laid out his heart earlier in the night.

Or perhaps it was just the pacing of the show.

Evanescence tore through 11 songs in less than 50 minutes, including most of the group's earlier hits -- Going Under and Bring Me To Life from 2003's Fallen -- plus Sweet Sacrifice, Good Enough, and Call Me When You're Sober from their second album, The Open Door.

It felt too fast, too rushed. With such a beautiful voice -- ranging from tart to ghostly -- Lee should be savoured, not gulped like a plastic cup of lukewarm beer.

Stone Sour was one of the opening acts, but the crowd was just as pumped to rock out to Corey Taylor's other metal band as they were to Evanescence.

Without his Slipknot mask, however, he seemed like every other frontman.

He twirled his long blond hair like a cyclone as punishing drum beats and guitars raged around him. He tossed water bottles into the crowd. He cursed up a storm. He denounced George W. Bush, dedicating Come What(ever) May to "one of the worst people on Earth."

He ordered fans around -- yelling commands such as "Wake up!" and "Let me see you jump!" Taylor softened up a bit when he picked up his guitar and performed a ballad, Bother, without his four bandmates.

As the crowd sang along, it looked like he was going to tear up with emotion.

"This is shaping up to be the best show on tour," he said, pausing halfway into the song. "Let's finish this."

Afterwards, Taylor beat his chest, then raised a fist in salute to his fans.

Excellent show!!!! I was on the floor, right near the front on the right side of the stage. Security kept wagging their flashlights at me for taking pics, LOL. Terry, Tim and John were at my side of the stage watching the openers, too.

Did anyone meet/see the band after the show? A couple of us waited for about a 1/2 hour, but only saw Rocky.
