I went to see Motley Crue like 2 years ago i think. And we had to line up outside, it was insane. there were people everywhere. and the show was like over an hour late because it took forever to get everyone inside. i don't know what was up that day! it was weird!

SOOOOOO looking forward to this, seeing them in my home province! Too cool!

I swear, I saw this, like, a minute ago on the Evanescence website and I squealed. Oh, it sucks that my exams are the week after, so I'm not sure if I'll be allowed to go... but the MTS Centre is only about 20 minutes away, and it's on a Saturday, so I'm sure it'll be fine. *squeals again* Aughhhh, I'm so excited! :D Now all I have to do is convince my parents.

I have to drive in from Brandon after my Saturday morning work is over at noon. I have floor seats, they are rush. So hopefully I can get a decent spot, somewhat close to the stage on the floor. (Like all the floor seats are not incredibly awesome to begin with). LOL!

I am curious when did EV play MB to my knowledge in 03 it was QC,M,Misissauga. In 04 it was Kelowna BC,Vancouver,Camrose AB, Craven SK,Torornto, Ottawa,Montreal. if I had more money I'd go, but I am fine with Ottawa (I did Montreal last year) If they come back in the summer I'm there.

Well I managed to get a hotel room right next door too the MTS Centre at the Radisson. I am glad for that, now I dont have to worry about parking... just park in the hotel lot and walk over.

Still no word from you loyal Ev-threaders what time you are all expecting to line up outside of the MTS Centre, or inside if they will let us.

If anyone wants to meet up give me a shout and Shawna and I will be glad to meet some of you. I have floor seats, as well as Shawna so perhaps we can all rush together, lol. There is power in numbers.

I am so excited about this Saturday, words cannot describe it. I have been an Evanescence fan like forever it seems and the chance to see Amy, Terry, Ritchie, Rocky, Compton, etc in person is incredible.

Yeah its going to be freaking awesome. Niles, anyone who has a floor seat ticket will get a floor standing position within the floor gates. However to determine where you will be in that crowd depends how quickly you get in there and get your spot. As well as how good you are at elbowing your way thru crowds. LOL!

Oh. I'm from Sask, so i usually go to concerts at the smaller Credit Union centre. It's always just been stand in line in front of the doors, get in and get admitted to the floor. I've never had to race for a spot - just with the few people who were directly in line near me outside of the doors. I've never waited behind a gate to the floor. So are the starting positions behind the gate based on whoever gets there first? Or are we placed. Or am I still misunderstanding? Haha. This is new to me. I feel like a pre-teen going to their first concert. Barf. :D

Thing is, MTS Center events never let people in from just one door. They let people in from like, all 4 corners of the building. Portage, Graham, etc.

Hey Everyone! Well stupid me finally figured out that you dont have to subscribed to post in here after all the time i spend readin though the threads and what not. Anyways I got floor tickets to the show on saturday :cool: I freaked out when i heard that Evanescence was comin to Winnipeg and my boyfriend went out and purchased them that morning.

I honestly cant wait to go and would love to meet fellow ev fans.

I noticed that people won't answer the question of what time people are going to head to the MTS center to wait in line...is it because you all want to be there first? i bet eh! Well my wife (Shawna/29) and I (Dennis/23) are going to the show as well. We are from Brandon and have floor seats too. I would be there really early to get in line however I work till 1PM that day, and then im jumping in the shower and booking it too Winnipeg. Im staying at the Radison so we will get checked in and walk over and will be there probably for around 3:45-4PM. I hope at that point there isnt too much of a lineup to get onto the floor and near the stage. Heh. I guess we will see.

Awesome. I am very paranoid that I might get there too late because I want to be front and at least close to the center. I was reading other posts from the other Canadian concert threads and people start lining up early:( . I'll be downtown early because I have to attend a workshop at the UofW so we'll see. Yeah like I said before, Shawna and I prolly wont get checked into the Radisson and make our way over there till about 4pm. Before I was worried that I would have trouble getting my way to the front of the crowd however Im not too worried now for a couple reasons. Mainly because it is really cold outside, today -50C with the windchill. Not alot of people will brave that. So getting too the front, I seriously doubt will be a problem.

Oh and Dreamchaser, this might sound like a silly thing to ask however are the merchandise vendors open still after the concert is over? I would like to buy my hoodies/necklaces etc after the show if possible.

Sometimes by the end of the show they run out of certain merchandise or they only have certain sizes. It was like that at the System of a Down concert and Avenged Sevenfold concert.

Well people today is the big day and its gonna be wicked. The weather is still cold so I aint gonna go down and stand in line anytime soon. Days like these you wish it was summer. Okay, I just got back from the concert. ;) Since it was my first (and hopefully not last) Evanescence concert, I really have nothing to compare it to, so of course I thought it was awesome.

Winnipeg fans came out in force and blew the band away. I think Amy was truly moved by the crowds reaction to every song.This is an unbelievable city for a band that is loved so much to come and play in a showcase setting.I was very proud of the city and the so well behaved fans.All age groups came for one of the best shows I've seen in 40 years of Winnipeg concerts.

i have been to 4 ev shows this week....and this one was by far the best!!! the crowd was intense!!!

i had a sign with me that said "i'll miss you. this is my last show. thanks for the amazing week". so i held it up for all 3 bands. on the other side i had "evthreads loves you...and ninjas" ha ha so when ev first came out i had the "evthreads loves you" side showing. then when amy sat down to play lithium and good enough, i switched it to say "i'll miss you". and OMG after lithium she looked over and read my sign (i was front row against the baracade a little to the left). she was like "this girl has followed us all across canada for the past 10 days or so. thank you so much, i am glad you had so much fun, we'll miss you too" or something along those lines. then she started playing this random song on the piano. i was like hmm this is new...then she turned around and looked at me and said in the mic "this is for you" and played some more random keys. then laughed and played good enough. WOW i was BLOWN AWAY literally! that made my night so much more personal! (ask biff he was with me all night, he can confirm :D he rocks btw!!)

i also gave tim a little teddy bear and a fake rose. :D it was present night...seeing how it was my last concert for a while :(

Ok. Where do I begin? At the top, I suppose.

I left my house at around 5:00pm, with the intention of going early to score MY front spot. I do a drive-by of the venue and look into the front entrance only to see a massive crowd of people. I think, "oh my"... So I quickly found a parking spot (close by, thankfully) and went inside. They weren't letting people in yet though... phew. Gates opened at 6pm, pat downs, searches, you name it... security was tight. I had nothing on me, got in fine, rushed to the floor.

There weren't too many people accumulated just yet, so I made my way down. I see a person with signs, a rose, and a stuffed bear turned around... I look at her and think, hmmmm is that her? Not a moment later she looks at me and asks "Are you Biff?" I'm like, yup! Thinking to myself, "yup, it's her". Her as in dreamchaser_83. She says "come stand beside me", so I did... prime time location, right at the corner of the front barrier, where the stage has the small catwalk. Same side of the catwalk as where John and Tim play. There were a few other evthreaders around us as well, but I can't remember who was who, or what their screen names are.

So anyway. Opening act, The Black Maria... I wasn't expecting anything great, to be honest, but they really weren't half bad at all. Solid rock band.

Second act, Stone Sour. Wow that lead singer is a slimeball. Spitting all over the place, showering the crowd with water every 5 seconds from his water bottles... In any case, they too put on a good, solid show.

Not surprising to a Winnipegger like myself, both opening acts were absolutely blown away by the loudness and support of the crowd. Absolutely nobody beats a Winnipeg crowd. NOBODY. Don't believe me? Throw in NHL '94 into your Sega Genesis... it had accurate crowd noise levels and statistics in that game.. Who was #1? Yup, Winnipeg with The Jets at the time. Our crowds haven't changed one bit.

So anyway, prior to Evanescence coming out, Ritchie comes and stands in his spot right in front of dreamchaser_83 and I. He's a funny dude. I see him pull out a tin of tobacco chew and stick a wad in his mouth. I look at him, shake my head and wave my finger in a 'tisk tisk' fashion. How does he respond? He smiles at me and winks. Ha. The waterbottle he was using for a spit cup was just siiiiiiiick.

So yeah. Evanescence comes out... Goddamn. I don't even know how to describe it other than that. Amy was dead on with her pitch and key for every song... not the usual off-key bull**** we've been seeing from her lately in online live performance videos.

A few songs in, Ritchie brings dreamchaser_83 one of Terry's guitar picks. I'm like, "Ritchie, wtf? Where's mine? Hook a bruvuh up." About 2 songs later he disappeared for a few minutes, came back and dropped a John LeCompt guitar pick in my hand. See Exhibit A.

dreamchaser_83 at this point had amassed quite the collection of Amy Lee paraphernalia. From Amy's towel, to her water bottle, etc. Spoiled brat, she is. I called her that all night. I mentioned earlier in this post that dreamchaser_83 was holding a rose.. it was for Tim. Early in the show she held it out for Tim, and he looked at her and goes "awww for me?" in the cutest puppy dog face you girls can imagine. If i were a girl, i'd have made panty soup with that look that he gave her.

John was cool too up on stage, coming close to us and the rest of the crowd by standing on the bass cabinets right in front of us. Terry, as per usual, was off in his own little world on the far side of the stage. Rocky was especially comical, joking around and making funny faces to his roadie/tech behind the guitar cabs for what seemed like the entire performance.

Half-way through the show, dreamchaser_83 asked Ritchie if we could meet up with them later on afterwards. He mentioned that the band would be hanging around the venue until around 2:00am and to stop by the loading docks where the bus was. Cool.

So anyway, throughout the show, even Amy was blown away by how loud and crazy our crowd was, and never failed to make mention of it. They played a few songs that I hadn't heard them play live before: Your Star, Lacrymosa, Snow White Queen. They nailed every one of them bang-on, even after Amy had warned us that they might be rusty since they're not songs that they typically play live. Well done, in any case.

So yah, after the encore and all that, Tim came back on stage to pass out a few of his last picks. I stuck my hand out, and Tim handed me one of his yellow Dunlop picks. See Exhibit B. I also got John's waterbottle, which he signed, but I don't care about a water bottle... wtf am I supposed to do with that? So I gave it away to some punk after the show.

Outside after the show, with some initial running around with dreamchaser_83, and some confusion about where the loading docks were, I finally remembered... unfortunately, the MTS Center loading docks are underground, under the CTV building next door. We stopped by, but the giant garage door leading in was closed. There's no getting in there unless you're expected. Ahh well. At least Ritchie made the offer, and we would have gone in if we could have. Perhaps next time... har.

So yeah. Freezingass night, but it was quite possibly one of the greatest shows I've ever been to... and I've been to many over the years.

My thanks goes out to the two cool security dudes that were near us before Ritchie came around. They joked around and conversed with us between the acts, and gave us water every so often if we were thirsty. Good guys.

And to dreamchaser_83... wow, you certainly do chase your dreams... 5 Evanescence shows in just over a week. Crazy girl. You're a sweetheart, and I appreciate and enjoyed our night at the show. And I thank you for hollerin' me over at the start.

P.S. Again, Nobody beats a Winnipeg crowd. Even dreamchaser_83, who was watching them for the 4th time in an arena venue, said that Winnipeg outdid all the rest. She, of all people, would know.

P.S. x2: Amy's engagement ring is HUGE in person on her hand. That is one bigass stone.

P.S. x3: Yes, I am proof and witness that Amy did play a little tribute bit on the piano to dreamchaser_83, saying "That was for you."

i had a sign with me that said "i'll miss you. this is my last show. thanks for the amazing week". so i held it up for all 3 bands. on the other side i had "evthreads loves you...and ninjas" ha ha so when ev first came out i had the "evthreads loves you" side showing. then when amy sat down to play lithium and good enough, i switched it to say "i'll miss you". and OMG after lithium she looked over and read my sign (i was front row against the baracade a little to the left). she was like "this girl has followed us all across canada for the past 10 days or so. thank you so much, i am glad you had so much fun, we'll miss you too" or something along those lines. then she started playing this random song on the piano. i was like hmm this is new...then she turned around and looked at me and said in the mic "this is for you" and played some more random keys. then laughed and played good enough. WOW i was BLOWN AWAY literally! that made my night so much more personal! (ask biff he was with me all night, he can confirm :D he rocks btw!!)

i also gave tim a little teddy bear and a fake rose. :D it was present night...seeing how it was my last concert for a while :(

I had a good time but the right side was pretty rowdy but of course its a rock concert. I was trynin to figure out who the other evthreaders were but it was hard to tell. The concert was simply amazing! Next tour I am heading out with my wife Shawna and hitting every single concert that I can.

Hehe, yeah... I got that wrong. I meant to write that I was going to go now, but I would post my review later. Whoops.

Anyway, I got to the MTS Centre at around 6:00ish because my dad and I had to do some errands first. When we arrived, a lady told us to move to one of the shorter lines, and so a bunch of people started running. Then they started frisking us, and one of the ladies in line starting commanding people to separate into boy/girl lines. She was saying to this one person, "Hey, you're a guy! You should be in the other line!", or something to that extent, to which the person replied, "...I'm a girl." :p

I bought myself one of those purple sweaters (you know, the one with the dripping streaks?) before finding my seat. I was sitting pretty far back, so my dad handing me a pair of binoculars that he had brought with him. The Black Maria came on first, and I was prepared for them to be horrible, but they actually weren't bad. I actually enjoyed some of their songs, such as "Waking Up With Wolves" and "1111", or whatever the name of that song is.

Then Stone Sour came on, but neither my dad nor I particularly cared for them. I spent the time trying to keep track of how many times he said the 'f' word, but I lost count. Moving on...

Finally, Evanescence came on. :D I thought that they were awesome, of course. I thought she sounded amazing (better than the KROQ performances, thankfully). My dad isn't a fan of them, but even he had to admit that Amy had "amazing vocals". For me, some of the highlights of the concert were: "The Only One", "Cloud Nine", "Whisper" (her voice was freakin' awesome on this one especially), and "Your Star".

On a side note, there was a group of four or so sitting next to me, and throughout the whole concert, they barely did a thing. They sat in the same position for three hours. They didn't cheer or clap during any of the three bands performances. Finally, during ATILF, they left. :p

Though I didn't get to meet the band or anything, I thought that the concert was amazing and I had an awesome time.

When the Stone Sour dude said that, I thought, "Ya, he says that to every audience," but now I believe him.

I got interested in Evanescence thru a coupla ppl on the Alicia Keys site, & then looking at the video on this site of their show at the Zenith in Paris two or three yrs back.

I was hoping for the same atmosphere at the MTS on Sat nite, & the ppl there were just as crazed as at that Zenith show. I was at the back & couldn't see faces on the stage, so Jumbotron video woulda been nice.

Of course, the show itself was great. Evanescence is rock melodrama, & Amy is a genius at it, lyrically and musically -- the female Lord Byron of rock.

#1 during SWQ...before the first chorus when she sings "i can't believe you'd ask these things of me" but instead she sang "i feel you in my dreams and i don't sleep" but she caught herself and it ended up sounding something along the lines of "i feel you in my dreams and i....you don't know me!" ha ha i got a kick out of that!

#2 wtf was up with people crowd surfing during good enough and then again in my immortal? lmao!! :D
