Tickets go on sale this weekend, I believe. I'll update this thread once I get more information. :)

Edit: Thanks abstruse-muse! The date is confirmed at http://www.scotiabankplace.com/ under "Coming Events," like abstruse-muse said. It starts at 7:30 PM, and there are currently two contests being held by local radio stations (The Bear (http://www.thebear.fm/) and Kiss FM (http://www.1053kissfm.com/)) to win tickets.

Tickets officially go on sale Saturday, November 4th through http://www.capitaltickets.ca/. You can also call 599-FANS for tickets.

OMFG, you guys! I just won tickets to go to the concert!

The DJ from The Bear said that she was making up an Amy Lee quiz and to wait for the 'cue to call in.' (I'd been listening for hours). As soon as it was time, I was on the phone. It was a pain in the ass because only the nineth caller would make it through. Obviously, I didn't make it in.

The first question was "Who was the other co-founder of Evanescence?" And the girl on the line didn't get it! :eek: So, as the DJ started saying, "We need to go to the next caller then," I was already on the phone (and my sister was screaming "CALL THEM BACK! CALL THEM BACK!"). The phone rang twice and then the DJ said, "Hey, The Bear!" I was like, "Hi!" (and saying OMFG in my head). Here's our conversation:

DJ: "So, do you know the answer?"
Me: "Yeah. Beeeen Mooody!" (I literally said it like that, LOL)
DJ: "That's right! What's their debut album?"
Me: "Fallen!"
DJ: "Yeah! What's the newest album called?"
Me: "The Open Door!"
DJ: "Yeah! You've just scored yourself two tickets! What do you think of that?"
Me: "OMG, thank you!"
DJ: "Okay, I have two more questions, but they're just for fun. Don't worry if you don't get them, you've already won the tickets, but it'll show if you're a real Amy Lee fan." (gee, no pressure, huh?)
Me: "Okay."
DJ: "Amy's father is also into the music business. What does he do?"
Me: "He's a DJ!"
DJ: "Yes, just like me! Good job! Okay, true or false - Amy said that she cannot understand why people wear thongs."
Me: (thinking WTF?) "Uh, true!"
DJ: "Correct! Amy said that she once wore a thong and it was so uncomfortable. She can't understand why people want to wear them."

By this time, my sister, who for some reason dislikes Amy very much, was cracking up, LOL. I only answered true because, well, it sounded like something Amy would say, so I just guessed.

DJ: "Okay, who do love?"
Me: "Amy Lee!"
DJ: "Okay, and ...
DJ and Me: "106.9 The Bear!"

She expected me to say The Bear the first time, LMFAO! With the debut album question, I did say Fallen, but was like, "No!" right after. I was so excited that I thought she had said the current album, haha. The DJ said, "Yes, yes, that's right!" I said, "Oh, I was thinking of their current album." "She said, "That's okay ..." and then asked me about The Open Door.

So, yeah, I have the Ottawa show down. I have to convince my parents to let me go to the two Montreal shows now ... :p

Not only did I win the tickets, but I won some Lottery tickets too. I could be rich! ;)

dude, u and me... shooters lineup! oh man we are gonna have a blast! hotel parties rock... i'll look into getting like 2 rooms -u know how they have some that connect through a door in the room, so u dont have to go into the hallway., and we can divide that by how ever many people stay overnight, 4 beds, 2 pullout couches, that easily sleeps 12! k im gonna get on this lol...and u know how they have that dumb limit of people in a room, we just enter the hotel in small groups, leave like 5 mins between, then if they knock, all extra people + 1 hide in the washroom - hotel party expereince? yup! so ya totally gonna be a blast!...

k when i call hotels im asking for a fridge!

attn all ottawa peoples: i am looking into the hotel booking this week... i know a few people said they were interested in getting a room at the same hotel as us, or were driving up etc...

so, if you are joining our party and want to be included in the hotel arrangements, u need to let me know. My plan is to sleep as many people per room so its as cheap as possible for everyone. Everyones pretty much welcome to drop by hang out, but if u want to have a guaranteed sleeping space for yourself, i need to know.

(if the room has 2 doubles and a double pullout couch, then im saying 6 per room 2 per bed. if just 2 beds, then 4 per room. )

I am booking 2 nights, the night before the concert and the night of the concert. So jan 9 and jan 10.

PM me and let me know if u want a sleeping space and for which night or both.
i will be splitting the cost equally so i will only book a second room if i get at least 3 more people.

(if the rooms dont have pullot couches, then we're going 4 per room, so we would have to get 3 rooms...)

so far we have: Willows, Dreamchaser, solitude, myself,scenceable(if she decides to join us), Natalie and Frank ( i don t know their evthread names)

I live in Ottawa and if anyone needs a place to crash I have a pullout couch that fits 2 and well yeah just thought I'd throw that out. I don't have my ticket yet, but I am ahor ton cash. So I am waiting to get one. I have a digital camera, so I will be using it to film as many songs as I can fit on my memory stick. This will be my 4th show. (Montreal 03,Ottawa,04,Montreal 06). I am so excited.for this show. I hope it sells out. Does anyone know if the last Ottawa show sold out I never heard if it did or not.

1. Should I do like all other EV shows and do the GA thing?
2. Sit in the stands (waiting until the last minute to get a ticket) so I can film 2-3 songs (Lithium for sure), and take one for the team.
3. If I do GA can I borrow someone's vehicle to throw my suff (Jacket ) so I don't have to carry stuff I don't need?
4. Would you guys be up for going out the night before or and or after the show for drinks? I work next door to OZ KAFE (GREAT MARTINIS) and we can take a group shot of all of us.

I still have no idea where I'll be during the concert. I'm probably not going to pick up my tickets until the end of the month, just to be sure they're in, and that I won't be wasting a 45 minute drive to the city. I suppose I could always just call. ;)

Well speaking from experience (Been to this venue about 10 times since 97 for everything from Aerosmith- Depeche Mode- Sheryl Crowe to Evanescence. Cameras are NOT ALLOWED. but I have never had a problem taking pictures. I even fillmed a bit of the recent 06 Nickelback show. Just sneak it in and then play it safe. oh and people let's chat off here sometime.

Ahh I'm so excited for this concert...I got presale tickets and lol well we actually for the first itme in my concert going experience had to tell people they couldn't come with us because we had already reached the ticket limit.
My best friend and I saw them in Montreal on Oct. 6th when they did that small tour. It happened to be his 16th birthday AND we ended up being in the second row (as it was all standing room) AND on top of that we went to the back of the Metropolis after the show and ended up meeting Amy!!! Best moment of my life...and his as it was his 16th birthday and he is practically in love with her.

Thanks for the pic (you are very lucky). You know what I met Amy in the afternoon, and I heard security say that ev may or may not come out afterwards. So they did come out after all? I left for Ottawa so I dpn't know. FYI Amy loves Tori and Tori has been doing m&g's since her 96 tour. (She started doing m&g's in 94 but there wern't every show, and they were very small. 96,98 they were huge depending on the city, and they were pre and post show. Now they are just pre show weather permitting. (Toronto 2002 @ the acc they moved us all inside and she did one there. I am glad ev (amy) are doing these. It makes me appreciate them more. I got her and Terry's autograph, but I wanted a picture with her and the other ev band members autographs., so I going to try in Ottawa. :)

Ok, thanks. I was going to bring it anyways, but I just wanted to know if I had to sneak it in or not. ;) When other people start taking pictures, I'll just watch for a few minutes and see if they have any problems.

I would like to get to the arena around noon-ish or so, but that all just depends on who I decide to bring. And, of course, that person has to be willing to wait around for at least a couple hours AFTER the show is over. I also made sure to book the 10th and 11th off this week, well ahead of time. I figured I'd need the 11th off to recover - I'm going to be so tired and I imagine I'll be hoarse for a couple days. :p

Gosh, I really hope Ev performs "Lose Control" this time around. It's so sexy! Yeah, I'm listening to it right now. :D I'm assuming there are going to be "Fallen" songs performed too?

how many people are you going up with?
were looking to sleep 6 in a room, and i found a few places where its defintely possible and comfortable, and its like 160 a night for 2 beds, 2 rooms, a pullout couch, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen and rolloutbeds, then theres the option to get 2 rooms, which is more expensive, then theres also the option to get a room with 2 beds and a pullout couch, and lots of hotels offer rollout beds...

so if ur going with a huge group, u should check out some of the places ive been looking it, but if ur just going with a few people, then theres lots that i came accross between 103-130 a night, that are fairly close to the venue in kanata

The funniest thing ever...although at the time it wasn't funny.

My mom, Step-dad and I went to our friends cabins for a week-end and I was trying to sleep in this one room...well the way the cabins are built, is not all the walls go straight to the ceiling, they have a bit of a gap on the top so heat can get into them easier...except for the main bedroom.

So my mom sticks me in one of the other rooms where the wall doesn't fully reach...my step-dad fell asleep in the living room, while watching the fire...he snores SO LOUDLY i was punching the wall, kicking, swearing, trying everything to get to sleep...I ended up not sleeping and sleeping the day away while he was awake.

This is the man...that I can be in my room, he'll be in the rec-room with the TV Blaring loudly, his door shut, my door shut, with my music on (I have 5.1 Surround Sound Speakers) and I can still hear him snoring from the rec-room hahahahaha.

Oh man that Christmas party on saturday for work was fantastic! Mike, Chris and I rented a room at the hotel it was at...so we had a party in the room with a bunch of our friends until about 5am...yeah...i got 3 hrs of sleep, i was still hammered when I woke up...had the spins, almost hucked it, oh it was pretty brutal!

Now Chris and I are like "do you feel like your getting weird looks from people?" im like "Ah...yeah." Hahaha...everyone wanted to sit at our table. We were wearing Christmas hats, we had this 'clapper' thingy that we kept using, and then foam swords in the hotel room hahahaha.

I am aiming to be there fir 7:30-8:00am. I have a question. For those driving could I throw my jacket in your car (as you hold my spot in line) so I don't have to bring it in to the arena. I don't want to be sweating and having to carry stuff. I am anxious to see if they have any new merch? I am so excited. Oh and fellow ev boarders is anyone wearing a nametag? Also I heard that ev had a bad time in Ottawa 04 and it was posted on evboard.com a) I'd like to read it and b) let's make sure we show them a good time, so they will keep coming back here. I am thinking about making signs for the show any suggestions?

Dang... I was planning on getting there by 12!! I dont even know which busses my friend and I are gonna take. Last time I took the Corel Centre bus that actually said Evanescence at the top. But Im not sure if those leave so many hours before the concert. Yea, I read reviews before that the crowd wasnt as wooo-like... haha. For those lining up early
ROUTE 96 TERRY FOX ,STITSVILLE,KANTA (they all go to the Terry Fox station, you will have to find you way from there to Scotiabank Place. It's not hard or far. You can see the venue from the Terry Fox bus station.

For those coming late do the above, ort take ANY of the Route 400 buses. Just look for the CONNEXION sign at you station and see if it goes there. It starts at Place D'Orleans around 5:00 pm EST and pretty much follows the EXACT same rout as bus number 95. IE. it goes to all major stations like St -Laurent, Mackenzie King,Lincoln Fields,Baseline etc.

Oh, yes, you're right. I was looking at the charts on The Bear the other day, and was so happy to see that Ev is still on the countdown and on the rock albums chart too. And "CMWYS" was #16 on the Top 107 of 2006 chart. That's friggin awesome!

I JUST got my tickets today. I ended up not getting them from The Bear - it's a long story so I'm going to bother with the details ... anyhow, I convinced my dad and we ended up getting a couple tickets from capitaltickets.ca (well, we called in). I wanted GA tickets, but my dad said that the only way he'd go (which meant, the only way I'd be going) was if we had seat tickets. So, I was able to get us on the first level, section 120, row G, seats 3 and 4 (funny, I have that memorized). I'm extremely happy that I still get to go, though.

Now, I don't know how early I'll be getting there to wait in line. I'd love to wait and meet all of you, but I'm not sure how long my dad is willing to wait in line. :rolleyes: Hopefully, I'll catch up with some of you guys after the show. Haha, I've already made it clear to my dad that we HAVE to stay for awhile after, as Amy and guys will probably come out at some point. Not only would I love to meet the band, I also have a letter for Amy that I really want to give her. And I hope they have some great merch for sale there too - I was picking out what I wanted last night, haha.

But the set was amazing.. Amy sounds amazing. Her piano playing i find is really inspiring. Well I am back with a story to tell.

First off I took the 96 bus to Terry Fox Station. I crossed the 417, wlaked through a ditch and jumped a faence to get to Scotiabank Place. I was there from about 9:30am- show ended. I met amanda aka abtuse_muse., and her mom. we hung out and she was all cool and had food to share. It was nice of her.Througout the day we made some more friends Lisa,Kara,Amanda #2. We played cards shared a pizza that we had delivered to the venue. It was so much fun. Later I was told by a grumpy security guy that Gate#3 might not be used for the GA floor access. I freaked out becuase I know for U2 it was #3, and what was I standing here all day for? Well we were ok, but NO CAMERAS were allowed. Tthey were being really strict by taking cameras and handing them back without the batteries, so I didn't risk it

The Black Maria were from Toronto and they were ok, but they scream alot and you can't hear what is bein said. I liked the sort of ballad Concubine.

Stone Sour were awesome. Lead singer Cory took swigs of water and then spit it out all over us. I was drenched in his backwash. he said the F-word many times and said it was in the works for them to come to Canada. He said that Through Glass was #1 here and the new CD was allready gold here.

The show was aweosme but something happened that PISSED ME right off. Before Evanescence came on, I was GIVEN a setlist by a security guard. I never saw him coming my way, as I was talking to Kara. The people around me wanted to see the setlist and read it. So I held it up and as I was doing that, these up to now nice people beside me snatch it from my hands. I was furious so I said GIVE IT BACK like 10x. I was GIVEN another one, he aksed if he coud first take a photo of it? After he took the photo they grabbed iy from him. We start arguing over this and they say that a) the setlist was in the girl beside me hands and I grabbed it. and b) she starts saying they have 1 setlist and that there was only one. EVERYONE that I hung with that day. Saw that there was 2 setlists given to me and stolen from the losers beside me. They even go so far as to talk about KARMA and how I was getting paid back FOR STEALING IT FROM HER HANDS, WHICH I NEVER DID.

I saw one of the setlists a bit later on so I tried to grab it. They scream Ow you pulled my hair, you touched my boob." PLEASE she was so flat and a bonerack there was nothing to grab. So I failed, but in the end KARMA paid them back because a) Midway throught the set bonerack passed out, and had to leave. b) A random nice girl I don't know was reading the Evthreads.com Ottawa thread, and recoginzed my face and and gave me the setlst she had. So it all worked out in the end. I just go to a lot of concerts and I NEVER start trouble. They were lying through their teeth. In fact MANY A Tori Amos pre -concert meet and greet I have helped to keep civilized,fun, and enjoyable. When I saw them walking by the merch table. I showed them my set and said "I got one anyways." I heard them say they were going to the Billy Talent show in Ottawa. I am NOT. Thank god I'd hate to see them again.

Also back from the EV concert.

Well first off we got to the venue sometime after noon and there was like nobody there so Jordana and I chilled inside while Mike and Chris went off to get us some lunch...we meet up some people and ended up chatting with them all day.

Once we finally got into the venue, we were all front row pretty much, like Jordana was up against the barrier but I was standing right behind her.

The Black Maria - I've heard alot of bad things about these guys...but they put on a decent show tonight, I think once the lead singer gets some more experiance they will put on a better show, but they weren't that horrible.

Stone Sour - We had alot of fun with these guys, mostly from where we were sitting the back sign looked like it said 'Stone Soup' haha so we yelled that out a few times. Corey knows how to put on a good show and he has amazing stage presence, but i'm not a fan of the spitting of the water, especially when its hitting me...but whatever...When he was singing 'bother' , the crowd was singing along and it threw him off guard and even applauded the crowd.

Evanescence --- WHOOT WHOOT! hahaha well the crowd really starting pushing when Amy came out on stage, and these two annoying girls ended up pushing their way behind myself and Mike, and ended up shafting out our friend Chris, who ended up getting a little sick to his stomach from the heat of the crowd and had to leave the floor for a little bit, but he made it back for BMTL and he was super stoked.

Amy was amazing! Again I was in awe watching her - she singled me out too, she was in front of us and I was screaming/rocking out and she totally pointed at him, gave me the rock on! i was like "WHOOOOOO" hahahaha.

John's stage presence is amazing, he kept coming over to us and just rocking out, it was amazing!
Tim was rocking out as well and he was slowly making his way over to us too, he's such a cutie!
It's so good to see Terry rocking out more as well and to see him doing well after everything that's happened.

I was laughing at Rocky as well, I can't remember what song it was it was pretty much the entire show I think, but we noticed he had this huge smile on his face while he was drumming away and laughing at something it was so cute hahaha.

Your Star was AMAZING!!! I loved it and it was such a great end to the show, unbelieveable!!!
The whole set was amazing! I loved every second of it and Amy was just insane tonight.

After the show we ended up meeting Amy briefly, chatted with her for a few moments as she signed some autographs (No pictures thou...I was kinda sad but there's always next time anyway.) She had on her jacket that she wore to MTV and she had the cutest toque on as well haha.

All in all - we had a rough trip getting down to Ottawa (Ditched our car on the highway oh yeah...that's right, totally ditched it and that was before Toronto *We went to MOD and Live @ Much* After the MOD and Live @ Much we drove to Ottawa and hit this section of the highway where it was crazy icy and they shut the highway down and had to detour us, after we got past that and almost into Ottawa we got hit by a crazy blizzard or something.

So basically like a 5hr trip from Toronto turned into 8 hrs (On the highway where it was icy haha we went 14 km's in about an hour and a half...we basically idled hahaha)

So even though we had the hiccups on the way --- the show was fantastic and I'm so glad we came. I cannot wait to see them again in concert...The show was amazing!!!

Well I'm outtie, my feet/legs are killing me and I just ate a crap load of pizza hahaha, so I'm chilling in the hotel room and ready to narc it and get ready to go back home tomorrow (10 hr drive here we come! hahaha)

I will try and do that some day, i really wanna start trying now, but its almost 1am, and i gotta get up 6 , so only a few more hours of sleep.

But ye, anyways, how many others who went got felt up by security? It was totally retarded. I was there with my two friends and I also had my 10 year old sister there. Me & her both have cameras. I had put hers in the rear of my pants (on my but) and my camera was in the case hangin just on my back... Security didnt feel her, but he went straight for my phone and was like, whats this? holy ****, how stupid can you be. i told him its my phone, duh. and then he went down my legs, but then as he was going back up, to feel my sides and back, I pushed out my chest and just avoided him feeling my camera hangin on my back.

But ye, they made me throw out my water bottle before entering. Ever since new management took over and Corel became scotia, The place has been so stupid. No outside food or beverages, and no cameras aloud. When were these rules enforced and whats the good of em?

So, the show was friggin amazing! I'm still in shock, haha! Even though I was back in the 100 level, I could still see really well. I honestly cannot say what my favourite part of the show was - maybe "Lithium." Absolutely beautiful. That and "Good Enough" gave me the major chills. And tears too, LOL. Amy was great with the crowd and I think that she was really impressed that the crowd was getting so into it. I thought that "BMTL" was absolutely incredible! After "Lacrymosa," a lot of people around me were getting up to leave, thinking that the show was over. I was telling everyone, "No, don't leave yet! There's still two more!" And sure enough ... by the time Amy started "My Immortal," I could barely sing anymore. And by the end of the night, I could barely even talk. My voice is still a bit scratchy now, but I think I'll be okay by tonight. Gee, I've never screamed, cheered, or clapped so much! An absolute fantastic show.

So, after, I convinced my dad to wait around for awhile. He didn't think that Amy or anyone else would come out because "it was too cold and bands just don't do that." :rolleyes: I said, "Well, Amy and the guys just aren't "any" band." I walked all the around to the back of the stadium and came around to where they had the trucks and buses parked. Just my luck, I went the wrong way (where anyone would come out was on the other side) so I had to walk all the way back around to the other side. There was one other person waiting there and then an EvClub / Threads member came along and said that his name is JW (and if you're reading this, let me know!). We talked as we waited ... and waited ... and waited. Finally, I seen someone come out who was wearing that really nice coat that Amy had had on at the "Live At Much." I said to JW, "OMG, I think that Amy!" He looks and yells, "Hey Amy!" And then I yelled it too. She looks up with a look on her face like, "Wow, people actually waited out here!" It was beyond cold, maybe -17 degrees. So Amy yells, "Hey guys! (and waves) It's reeeeallly cold out here!" We then noticed that there was a small group of people waiting down by the road (Sheena was probably in that group too), but we didn't run down right away, as we weren't sure if Amy would walk all the way down there in the cold. But as soon as I seen her getting a Sharpie and then her and Richie started walking, I took off running with JW right beside me. As Sheena said, Amy only chatted briefly, as they all had to get going - and it was so cold too. She looked so cute in that toque! When I got up to her, my hands were shaking because it was so cold (I left my gloves in the car *stupid me*) and because I was so excited to finally meet her. Amy took my CD from me and noticed my shaking hands. She said, "Oh my gosh, I'll quickly sign this, and then you get home! It's way too cold out here!" I was like, "Aw, thanks," and then I smiled. After she was done signing, I thanked her profusely and then gave her the letter that I had written for her, and then waited around until she had finished signing. You know, Amy is shorter than what she looks on stage. I think I have a good two inches, at least, on her. ;) And she also looked so tiny in that coat too - maybe it was because we were all huddled together because of the coldness. Amy is such a sweetie and I'm glad I got to meet her, even if it was only briefly.

Oh, and right at the beginning Richie specifically asked for no pictures because they had to get going and such. Of course, some guy behind me starts taking all these pictures and gets in pretty close to Amy. Richie turns and says, "You *******, didn't you hear me? NO PICTURES! Do you understand English, dude?" It was so funny. The guy ended up leaving.

As for the other bands ... well, I hated The Black Maria. I thought they were terrible. I hate screaming, which is only what the singer did, and when he wasn't screaming, I couldn't understand what he was saying. My dad and I got up and left during the second song. I actually got my merch then, to save from waiting in line after the show. I got the black hoodie with "Evanescence" and the little design thingy on it, a "The Open Door" tour t-shirt, and a necklace with the cool artwork on it. I'm actually wearing it all right now. :p I was going to get the bluey coloured t-shirt too, but I wasn't sure if I had enough money or not. Turns out, I did, but I didn't go back to get it. *is kicking myself now*

Stone Sour (or "Soup," as Sheena mentioned) was okay too. I wasn't really a fan of Corey, though. All the swearing, screaming, and spitting was a little much. However, "Bother" and "Through Glass" were great! He actually stopped during the middle of "Bother" to say how great we were! He was taken aback that the crowd was so into it.

So, I guess that's all I have to say. Ev had better come back again!

Oh, and if something happens to me, everyone will know that I have died happy!

yes I do bootlegs on the side ;) for other artists so I could be of some help if need be. I am bummed that so far the only good pics are of AMY on Ottawa Citizen.com and Ottawasun.com I wamted ones of the band and one of the Lithium performance with the falling snow. I loved the show. Amy was right when she said that Ottawa (spelled Ottowa on the setlist l's) and Winnipeg get left out on most major tours. That is SO TRUE. Lucky for Ottawa since Springsteen filled the same venue as EV in 2003, we have been getting more concerts like the Who, Pearl Jam, Rolling Stones, Ev,Kelly Clarkson,Green Day, Metallica.,GNR etc.

Two words: Absolutely amazing! I won't go into detail considering others have before me, and I didn't really do anything of interest (actually, I'm pretty sure I got made fun of by some people sitting behind me every two minutes for my enthusiasm, but whatever ;) ). Amy's voice was practically flawless, John, Rocky, Terry and Tim were all in their prime, and it was an event!

Oh, and best of all, they played my absolute most favourite song ever: "Your Star"!

And Sheena, I noticed the "Stone Soup" thing too! I was hoping to see Stone Sour! Oh well, Stone Soup were by FAR superior ;).

Ok wow where to begin! Well I went to the Corel(faster to type) at around 11 or 12 and it looked deserted. As Haunted_Hello said I met up with him and stayed at gate 3, that was pretty sweet that we found a shortcut!! Cubby, a dj from The Bear, came in and I was totally excited so I was lke "CUBBY!!\m/" and he remembered my name from winning the Ev contest for the Toronto Kool Haus show. We talked about it for a bit and then my mom gave him some chocolate. I guess he sorta missunderstood cause when he got back from the interview with Amy he said, "Hie Amanda, you'll be glad to know I gave Amy your chocolate and she remembers you!!" I was all waaa:confused: and he said "Yea!! I was like 'this is from a fan waiting upstairs, she actually won our contest from last year' and she said 'oh yeaa from the Kool Haus!' !!" So after he left, we decided to walk around the building to see if anybody else was around. We met some ppl and they came to gate 3 too. My friend came from school and was really excited seeing as she isnt an uber fan. I was glad she was getting really into it! So after the "grumpy security guy"^^ drama past, our pizza was delivered and we ate in line on the floor... pretty rad. Woo bacon crumble with pepperoni and extra cheese!

Thennn, 7 min past original door opening time haha, we got in and after being felt up by a security guy we ran super fast down the 100 level stairs to the floor. I have to say, I felt like I was gonna fall flat on my face running down those stairs pretty freaky. So I got middle front with Jared and Kara in front of me and we were right by the catwalk. Before it started I called my friend and it passed away a lot of time. Its sad she couldnt come with us, her mom is uber strict and stuff.

It seems like I'm the only one who really liked The Black Maria. The lead singer looked quite spiffy in his suit, he reminded me of Brandon from The Killers. I don't like it when bands scream but he didnt do it too often. One song I really liked was "Walking Up With the Wolves" especially when he goes high. *currently stuck in my head* I also liked the piano at the beginning of a few songs. I feel bad though because we werent as loud for them. I wanted to get the cd so I called my mom who had a seat but she said she wouldnt get a cd during intermission because "they werent good". Ohwell.

Next up was Stone Sour haha or "Stone Soup" as everyone else said. Corey really did interact with the crowd and swore like crazy. haha *all age show*. When he was swinging his hair like that, it was insannne!! Some uber Stone Sour dude pushed his way up to the front which moved a bunch of us away from the middle. I was quite pissed but he left when Ev came on so that was good. I really liked "Bother" and when the crowd sang with him he just had to stop and compliment us, I think it really hyped everyone up. I called my friend up and recorded "Through Glass" on her message machine. I'd say they were pretty awesome, but too hard for me. Though the backwash spitting was gross, it was quite refreshing... except when it got in my ear. ew.

Intermission felt like forever and I seriously needed water... haha shoulda opened my mouth for some Corey backwash!! AdventChild called me and I said I would call back during Cloud Nine. Then my mom called and I begged her to TRY to take pictures atleast. When Scott Lear from The Bear came, he got the crowd rallyed up and then I got even more anxious!!

AND ofcoarse Evanescence put on a freakin amazing show!!!! I would have to say it was my favourite show so far. It seems like theyre getting better and better everytime I go. I was soo angry cameras werent aloud. My friend stuck our cellphones in her bra haha, I tried taking pictures but its the worst quality everr. I'm glad the reviews had photo albums and I'm sure more should be lurking around somewhere. The first notes were heard before the curtains even opened and then bam!! bigger stage, huge logo and the band just appeared. It was amazing. Amy said it was great to be back, I really do think that the crowd was WAY WAY better than back when they first came. I called up AdventChild during a few of the performances, must share the uber evness!! *Mom in a few weeks "Amanda... look at this amazing phonebill weve gotten in the mail!! =| "* Every song was played perfectly, I dont remember any messups but its probably cause I was consumed in it all. I'd have to say my favourites were The Only One(I just love that song and I dont remember putting my rock hands down once), Lithium(O. M. G. foamy, bubblyness I loved it. It really did look like snow and heaps of it would just come down, it was soo pretty), SWQ(When Amy came up to the catwalk it felt like she was looking me in the eye, sorta freaked me out but it was creepy cool), Lacrymosa(every ending song is amazing cause it has to leave a lasting impression and it certainly DID!!) and Your Star(I wanted to see that live sooo bad and it was so awesoem with the band doing their thing and Amy rocking out on the piano). Before the encore everyone started screaming "WE WANT MORE" and then Amy came out and started teasing us like "what? you guys want what?". It was really funny when she started bobbing her head back and forth during My Immortal, I could feel the rushness to the song but it was clouded by everyone singing and screaming like crazy. Overall... I reallllly didnt want it to end though I was in pain, who cares about that man!!

After that I could finally walk around and it felt soo good to bend my knees. I looked for my mom then got some merch. Got the button pack, gothic hoodie and red gothic frame, that was a splurge. While I did that my friend met The Black Maria cause she thought the drummer was hot haha. We were about to leave but I was like "no mom we cant leave just yet... can I just go around the venue for a bit". Well even if she'd said no I wouldve gone anyway haha. So my friend and me went around one way and saw a fenced pitt with trucks so we didnt think the busses were there. We went all the way around again and saw that the busses were there but hidden by the wall. So we ran over to this small crowd of ppl waiting by a security guard and I think I recognized some of you guys but I was too shy to say anything hehe. I was just shuffling through my bag when my friend was like "Uhh... Amanda... Amy's coming". So pictures werent aloud which is sad but I got her to sign our pic from the Toronto show and she said "Aww thats cute". I thought her hat was soo awesome too!! so I had to tell her, I sounded lame in my head. I handed her a letter and stuffed Jack Skellington and she was about to sign it but then was like "Oh! is this for me??" and then I said ya! and she was like "aww thank you!". Ritchie started swearing at some guy, I thought it was pretty funny. I shoulda asked for his autograph but I was a little intimidated haha.

This morning I was listening to The Bear and Cubby was like "I was on my way to interview Amy and guess who I bumped into at gate 3?! Amanda Munroe from our Toronto Evanescence contest!! I told Amy I had some chocolates from a fan, it was a great way to start off the interview!!" I guess that misshapp was for good. It totally topped off the night. Now THAT was the best day ever.

Ya, I have to agree. This concert was far better than the ev concert I went to in 04 in Montreal. I think it had alot to do with the crowd - everyone was awesome, go Ottawa!!

My cousin came with me- and is now offically a big fan of ev. I think she was more ralled up after the concert than I was. Crappy that we didn't stick around to meet the band afterwards :(

I was not a fan of the opening bands tho- and Stone Sour (aka Stone Soup!) was using the f-bomb a little to frequently consitering there where kids there! And did anyone else notice him horking uo a storm on the stage and audience. I was lucky enough to catch a drop of his saliva on my jacket (atleast it wasn't in my eye). He was good vocally but a little much on the swearing, hair flinging and spitting....oh and his random staring into the audience smiling like he's on prosac.

Good job Ev! Get your asses back to Ottawa ASAP cuz "We want more!!" no, not less Amy...lol

From what i could hear through the phone was amazing! Cloud Nine was perfect (also the only song i could hear clearly), as were what i could hear of Lithium and Lacrymosa, but your screaming was so metal! \m/
I hope that the phone bill isnt too bad with long distance or else there will be some madness here, but i couldnt help myself hearing Cloud Nine live!

so, thursday around noon, we left the hotel and decided to drive around ottawa (we were being tourists!) and I had the camera out and was taking random pictures. then, we came to this fancy hotel, and were joking like 'OMG look at this place, its so nice, we should have stayed here instead of the dumb best western, why are we so cheap', etc. then...I took a picture of the hotel, and I look....AND AMY LEE IS STANDING OUTSIDE THE HOTEL. so I took a picture of her. :D

now...the most crazy thing is...she kisses the guy beside her...and Im like ****, that must be josh! wow. so, we rolled down the windows of the car and were like 'AMY!!!! HI AMY!!!!' and she looked over kind of confused and then waved to us. it was cute. :D

but...see, now I feel bad. because my mom said that they looked kind of worried because I guess no one knows what josh looks like and whatever. so, I felt like, the paparazzi or something, and that I freaked amy out...:( and I didn't want to do that, I swear! I didn't even realize. and its not like we went mad with the camera after or tried to jump out of the car and go bother them. so...I don't think I should feel bad, hahah.

but yeah. thats my chance experience. it was INSANE. I was dumbfounded after. and Im not posting that picture anywhere XD

you guys. I haven't told anyone (except jordana) this yet, but its SO CRAZY.

so, thursday around noon, we left the hotel and decided to drive around ottawa (we were being tourists!) and I had the camera out and was taking random pictures. then, we came to this fancy hotel, and were joking like 'OMG look at this place, its so nice, we should have stayed here instead of the dumb best western, why are we so cheap', etc. then...I took a picture of the hotel, and I look....AND AMY LEE IS STANDING OUTSIDE THE HOTEL. so I took a picture of her. :D

now...the most crazy thing is...she kisses the guy beside her...and Im like ****, that must be josh! wow. so, we rolled down the windows of the car and were like 'AMY!!!! HI AMY!!!!' and she looked over kind of confused and then waved to us. it was cute. :D

but...see, now I feel bad. because my mom said that they looked kind of worried because I guess no one knows what josh looks like and whatever. so, I felt like, the paparazzi or something, and that I freaked amy out...:( and I didn't want to do that, I swear! I didn't even realize. and its not like we went mad with the camera after or tried to jump out of the car and go bother them. so...I don't think I should feel bad, hahah.

but yeah. thats my chance experience. it was INSANE. I was dumbfounded after. and Im not posting that picture anywhere XD

I'll post about the entire week in a bit. tomorrow perhaps :)

Yes, yes, I seen you guys! I especially remember Jordana because I think I actually talked to her as we were walking away after Amy left. I was asking her about the picture she had, if that is what she's holding in your picture (hopefully I'm talking about the same person here, haha!). How cool, I was right beside you guys and didn't even know it! ;)

Yeah, I'm still laughing at Richie. I was going to ask him if he enjoyed all the cupcakes that everyone has been making for him and the band, but then I felt really intimidated by him after he scared that guy away. :o

wooo awesome experience. the ottawa road trip sucked....like sheen has said, getting detoured into Shannonville wasn't that great...but other than that...when we finally made it into ottawa it paid off. the concert was awesome. wooo stone soup lol. and me...the water queen lol i got a bottle of water from each band...plus two from security. lmao...the people around me were thirsty!! :D also, ritchie gave me amys towel and her water bottle so it was awesome. john and tim also threw pics directly to me (and the guitar player from stone soup...er...sour ha ha also directly threw his to me) and i also got ev's setlist. yay! i finally got to give amy the gift i had for her and carried around for like 3 cities! ha ha

the show was awesome. although the stage mics facing the crowd were turned up a bit too high. you could hear everyone talking and singing throughout the performance. but it was still cool. i never took any pics or anything, it was amys personal request for no pics. i respected her wishes and left the cam in my bag. i was front row against the baracade...where i usually am, a little to the left. (weird cuz all 3 ev shows i have stood in the same spot). no offense to those of you who were there...but man the crowd was lame. no one in my section was rocking out or anything. i was like come on guys, trying to pump everyone up around me. i was rocking out hard to make up for them. it paid off cuz john tim and amy singled me out lots! i was on cloud nine (love the ev reference) and when amy said "good to see the same faces following us across canada" i was happy. by now she has to know me after chatting 3 days in a row lol

so after the show, sheen, mike, chris and i went and waited by the tour bus. i knew she would come out because i had given my gift to ritchie to give to her. she likes to thank fans for stuff like that. we weren't allowed to take pics which is fine because i already have a picture with her. so she signed my medieval times photo as well as my set list. (she personalised my medieval times photo yay!) i talked to her the whole time she was signing autographs...like i said, by now she knows who i am lol. she thanked me for the gift and gave me a hug and i said see ya in winnipeg. lol. she asked me if i was at medieval times when she was and i said no i was at the toronto one, then we talked about how fun it is there and i made fun of her for throwing chicken at the knight. she was like it wasnt me and i was like sure sure lol. and i also congratulated her on her engagement! yes ritchie snapped on that dude, but i would have also. it was freezing out there. i apologized to amy for us making her come out and she didnt care. and i thanked ritchie for all the hook ups and he was like anytime sweetie. (i heart him)

can't wait til saturday, its the winnipeg show!! i will have way more stories about the whole ev road trip in the other appearances section next week after i get back to flin flon. (btw i went to the toronto, ottawa and winnipeg concerts plus MOD and live @ much....so lots of stories. *fingers crossed....i have met them at everything so far...hope my track record stays 100% for winnipeg...but who knows with the -40 weather)

Yeaa!! I remember seeing you outside!!! With the medieval times picture!! Wasnt her hat the coolest. Im not a hat person haha but if i had a hat like that my mom would never be yelling at me to put one on ever again!!

I remember a guy in the left side who had the coolest flag. I heard he drew it, not sure but it was amazingg. The crowd was a lot better, but at times I did feel like my hand was the only one up. Oo and I forgot to say, after the show... the new guy I was behind because of the "shift" turned around and was like "You almost busted my eardrums". I think I turned redder than I already was. Ahwell I had fun!!! I really wanted to make sure that they had a good time in Ottawa cause I was afraid they couldn't come back. I thought the middle front rocked, what you say about the left... worries me haha. I kept trying to see everyone but I was blessed with being 5' 1".:rolleyes:

In Montreal the show started at 8 and Ev was on at 10. I think Black Maria played for 30 minutes and Stone Sour for around 45 minutes.

black maria started at 7:30 and played until about 8. stone sour played until about 9 or 9:15. I don't exactly remember how their sets were divided, but im 100% sure that evanescence came on at 9:30 and played until 11.
