STONE SOUR To Open For EVANESCENCE In Montreal - Oct. 30, 2006

According to Showbizz.net, STONE SOUR will open for EVANESCENCE at the Bell Center in Montreal, Canada on January 5, 2007. It is not presently clear if the two bands will perform any additional dates together.

STONE SOUR is continuing to tour behind "Come What(Ever) May". As the follow-up to their four-year-old debut album, which was twice Grammy-nominated, certified gold and contained the huge rock hit "Bother", "Come What(ever) May" is filled with volatile songs that mix heaviness with sharp hooks. The songs question the motives of false prophets (the title cut), tear apart hypocrisy ("Sillyworld") and smash complacency ("30/30-150", "Hell & Consequences").

The band's potency as a live act was underlined this summer when they toured with KORN and the DEFTONES on the massively successful "The Family Values Tour". Look for STONE SOUR to embark on the "Music As A Weapon Tour" with DISTURBED November 15, a trek that will bring them to arenas across the country.

1. There's a bunch of parking near the venue but they range from 15$ to 20$ each.
2. The bus will most likely, more like will be, in the underground parking. You can wait by the garage doors for when it comes out, but I doubt the band will come out of it to sign stuff.

When I met Tori Amos in 2002 she canme out from the garage doors under the bridge. They had metal gates set up for the m&g. In 2005 they had us behind the Bell Centre and she came out there to sign stuff. The pcture of me and Tori in the Ottawa EV show thread is from 2005 and in the background you can see the area of the Bell Center where she came out. I'd say that if they are doing m&g's like they have been so far, then they will do them. If they arn't doing them, then I hope the proper people tell you guys, so noone is standing in the cold for nothing.

You're in downtown Montreal so you can pretty much find any hotels you want. So expect to pay a high price for them :S

Many good places to go shopping, you're probably gonna be downtown so there's a **** load of things to do. You can shop at the Eaton Center, or the Alexis Nihon place, on Metro Atwater (Metro is the Subway). Downtown itself is like a gigantic mall anyway, you can get tattoos and whatever you want down there. Even whores!

I don't know if the underground parking of the Bell Centre is open all day. Most of the other parkings are outside, so you can easily just go back to your car whenever you want. You could probably find a spot in the street too and save the parking fee ;) The few free spots around the Bell Centre should still be empty at 8 am :P

I rarely hang out around the Bell Centre but I know there's a few restaurants like a 5 minutes walk from it. There's at least a Subway, Harveys and probably more then that. There's a few convenience store nearby that's for sure. I just don't know where exactly lol It is downtown but more like the business part of downtown then the fun part of it ;)

Laval is outside of Montreal actually, it's not on the island of Montreal at all. Downtown is definitely expensive though, but it's better to be close to the venue since you're gonna be a tourist and you probably shouldn't wander around Montreal... Especially not downtown. Parking might be pretty brutal downtown as well... but I guess the hotel should have a parking lot. You're three people, downtown should be the best for you guys.

Well, it was a good show, I must say. Amy wasn't off key alot, the guys looked happy, John was smiling and making faces as always and the new guy totally fit in. During Lithium, there were some bubbles coming down on the stage, it looked like snow... I think foam would be a better word though. Amy looked happy, but when it came down to My Immortal, it looked like she wanted to end it as soon as possible. Their final encore was Your Star, which is the hardest song they've written apparently, that's what Amy said. I don't remember the setlist all that much, I was singing along alot and looking around at how they played and what not. It was a good show though, you shouldn't miss it. Stone Sour were ****IN AWESOME! Corey is great, so Toronto people, enjoy it tomorrow night. The Black Maria were actually a big surprise to me, their music was much better than what I had heard of them and they look like they care about their sound, that's the impression I got, so don't dismiss them because they're new, they're pretty good! I am glad to hear that it was a good show. I am not surprised that Amy would want to get My Immortal over with. After all, from what we've heard she doesn't like and/or feel attached to this song and she's basically only playing it because she knows that a lot of people like the song. The set list seems good so I cannot wait for my Toronto show on Monday :)

i think at this point shes pretty much sick of that song and i dont blame her. even if it was their biggest hit if she really didnt wanna play it she shouldnt. christina doesnt do genie in a bottle on her latest tour.

Sadly it was pretty much the same stage set from the previous tour. Only difference is that the piano was under the stage at the front. They just raised it when needed and then hide it again.

OK. I was there yesterday. I did not like at all The Black Maria. I only heard the singer scream. It was horrible, IMO. Stone Sour was better. But not much! That guy sure loves to say F***. There was one great song! The one he sang by himself.

Evanescence was AWESOME ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was the first time i listened to them in a live performance and they are very good! Amy's voice sounded very clear, beautiful and powerful! I was sad that they were on the stage for only 1 hour and a quarter. But they were awesome anyway! :D We were very privileged to hear Your Star in the end! It was amazing! She sang Good Enough very well, alone with the piano. I also felt like she sang by obligation My Immortal by she didi it well! Lithium was just fantastic with the "snow" falling! I think they played most of the best songs from both albums.

Yesterday, Evanescence delivered a great show.
The opening band, The Black Maria, were good considering that they're a new band. They even had one quite catchy tune.

Stone Sour were greeeeaaat! Corey sure knows how to interact with the audience.

Evanescence was greeat too. Lithium was a highlight because of the fake snow that fell during the song. They played songs from Fallen including Haunted, Bring me to life, Imaginary (there was a small technical problem, the mic was turned off during the "swallowed up in the sound of my screaming" part), My Immortal in the very end. They played Your Star and another song, i dont remember which, for the first time ever live. The only part that couldve been better is Amy's interaction with the crowd, it was okay but I thought it couldve been better. And her voice seemed less powerful in the last three/four songs (or maybe it was just an impression...). Apart from those two small things, the show was really good! It was better than the one I saw in December two years ago.

As for video of Your Star, I can't have that. They asked everyone's cameras before we got in the place, so no one had a camera. Some people had camera phones so maybe that could be possible, otherwise i'm not sure you'll see any. I was like, third in front of the stage so, I could see everything perfectly fine, but I waited from 1:45pm to 7:00pm to get that spot and I could barely walk because there was nowhere to sit, so yeah, come prepared if you wanna do that.

There was quite a lot during Stone Sour where i was standing , but nothing or very very little during Evanescence. I think people just wanted to look and enjoy the show.

I got hump, and I do mean hump, pretty badly during Stone Sour. Some guy that came just for them was behind me and kept trying to get over me. I lost count of how many times he pushed me and hit me. I don't mind people jumping or thrashing, but that's not reason to push people just for fun.

A few girls that seem high and half naked moshed during Ev. But it was only the 3 of them.

Oh man yesterday was so amazing! even though the friends I went with aren't ev fans lol...
But it sucked that I couldn't use my camera. Someone mentioned that they only asked, but they actually like, felt my coat, and then asked me and i felt that I would look so sketchy if I said i didn't have a camera even though the lady totally felt it in my coat. Apparently the male security people didn't search the girls so ill keep that in mind for next time.

My concert recap:
The Black Maria were okay. They weren't awesome, but they were good. Haha my friend actually asked me "why doesn't anyone like this band?"
My friend saw the lead singer like 10 times after their set cause he went to the vending booths and the guy was there. He also Amy on the right side of the stage, during their set, watching the performance. I pretty much hated him for not telling me on the spot lol. But I saw John standing on the other side, watching their performance. Haha I was like OMG :D! and I had to explain to my friend who John was...
Then came Stone Sour... oh man Corey has so much energy! his headbanging just totally amazed me! And I really enjoyed James' performance, he was really into it. unfortunately I mostly stared at Corey, James and the drummer, so I can't comment on the whole band. But they were really good, I'd definitely go see them again. Although the mosing during their set looked like it hurt lol.
Before Ev came onstage, they had this huge curtain, and right before ev started playing, I saw Beth walking on side of the stage. I don't know what she was doing, but after she went to the back of the stage wight when ev started. I was like ooh its beth! and then i explained to my friend who beth was.... *rolls eyes*
Man, the performance was just spectacular. Amy's vocals were amazing even thought sometimes she missed. Apparently during lithium there was a technical error... i didn't notice, but my friend (who was in the seats, me and my other friend were on the floor) did notice that during the song she was making signs to some people, though he says she was probably telling the poeple to start the foam/snow/whatever it was. And like someone mentioned before, during imaginary the mike wasn't working. Funny though, some girls who were in front of me were waving like crazy yelling "NOO!! NOO!! WAIT!!" and waving so that Amy would see them. I guess it was so that she would wait until it was repaired?... i dont know. My friend said that that was good though, cause it's proof that amy doesn't lip-synch.
John's part in BMTL was really good too. He even got a little ovation lol, i remember hearing a lot of cheers when he started singing. He definitely deserves it! Tim was rocking out too, and Terry too, they really played well. Rocky seemed to be really into it too.
And guys, let me tell you Your Star live is just ... WOW! when I saw them in october I was hoping they'd play that, but at least they played it now. Good enough was amazing too. My friends were impressed with Amy's vocals.
Overall, I am so glad I went to this concert and took a day off work. It was so worth it! Definitely a night to remember.
AND! at the end of the night my friends were like "OMG that was awesome!" and they were so impressed, I was so proud of ev lol, cause my friends aren't that easy to impress. I can safely say now that Ev officially have 2 new fans :p

Oh by the way, did anyone manage to get autographs? I know that their bus was somewhere outside, my friend saw it (he went in a different direction then us), but he only told me today (oddly enough i didn't get that mad at him for not telling me... although it would've been nice to meet them or something)

I couldn't get any pics from the show because we had front row, and we were right in front of Richie. I believe my other two friends did, but I didn't risk it.

I was standing near the front of the house board thing taking pics and one guard did come up to me to tell me to stop. I said ok...moved up and into the crowd and continued.:p in the end i was about 15 people deep so no guards around... just surrounded by fans. the zoom on my camera isn't bad so if im lucky i get some good pics.

We were in front of Tim and John. I don't know if you'd remember, but we were the ones who had a sign, and we kept holding it up in front of Amy every time she came wandering over.

I had my camera phone, and I used that to take pics. No one said anything to me about that, so whatever. Some of them are really blurry. I still have them on my computer, but I don't remember what ones go with what show because I also used it to take pics of the Quebec show too.

Hehe, well being surrounded by fans all around isn't that bad though. :D

The only other show I've gone to was the show in Hartford two and a half weeks ago, but that's about it.

Yeah, we had a sign. I have a picture of it somewhere. I think only the people who were around us knew about the sign because we were holding it up. It was more noticeable in Quebec though, because one of my friends made some changes to it beforehand.
