the rest of the line up is
Nick lachey,Jojo,Nelly furtado,Pussycat dolls,Rihanna,The fray,The killers and rbd.
Im only going for EV,Nick lachey,Nelly furatdo and Jojo. I cant stand the rset of the acts listed. Hey it could be worse.

Um...besides Ev, I like PCD (their singles make me want to dance lol) and sort-of Rihanna and The Killers. That's it :X
I'd have to run home between finals if I were to go, so I'm contemplating on whether or not it'll be worth it. How much are tickets?

I would so want to go...only if the rest of the line-up was better, I'd only go to that to see Ev and The Fray and sort of Rihanna. It's not really worth it if I don't like the majority of the performers. I'd rather watch a whole set of Ev...I'll definitely be checking the news that night because sometimes they mention Jingle Ball, and I'd like to see if they say anything about Ev. I suppose I'll just wait until they come back to NY after this...

they ALWAYS announce more people as the show gets closer. not just performers but surpise guests/hosts so its gonna be more than just the line up already posted.

considering that many of the east coast Jingle Balls generally have similar or identical lineups.. I'm wondering when Ev will get added to the Kiss108 jingle ball lineup.. as its the day before (and already sold out)

I've heard that Ev is only going to be doing 3 shows in December and I'm pretty sure that one of those shows is going to be at Y100's Jingle Ball in Florida (since it's Z100's sister station) so we shall see.

grr them! the tickets are like more than $200 each! that's insane! not even for like that good of seats either! and then theres $79 ones at the very top of a mountain nosebleed section, it's just not worth it. The other bands aren't even that good. Oh well maybe we can still see them around MSG... does anyone know where the back door is or where the bands go in? I can never find it for MSG it's just too big. :(
Aerdna
11-06-2006, 04:27 PM
I just found out the Italian Club at my school is going to the city possibly on the same day, so now I'm definitely going on that trip! Not sure if MSG is around the area we're gonna be though, I doubt it, but it'd be pretty cool if we passed by it or something...
but yeah, definitely not going to Jingle Ball. Damn $200?! No wai! Like I said, it's not worth it if there are only two bands that are worth seeing...

Does anybody have any more information about tonight's show? I know the tickets were ridiculously expensive, but is anybody here going/gone?
It’s not everyday Evanescence and Pussycat Dolls are on the same bill. Do you think there will be a dance-off?

Ahh, nothing says Merry Christmas like that photo. Way to spread holiday cheer Rocky.
Ok so I went to this show, won some tickets from z100...let me just tell you guys who weren't able to go...this had to be Amy's best vocal performance I have EVER seen/heard live. Evanescence definitely redeemed themselves from last weeks KROQ performance. They kicked so much ass, but as usual with these radio shows, not everyone exactly gave them the props they deserved seeing as most of the people there were there to see the more pop acts. They played 5 songs opening up with Lithium which Amy completely just nailed every single note perfectly. Then they went into Going Under, then Call Me When You're Sober, then Imaginary and lastly, Bring Me To Life. I was a little disappointed they didn't play more songs from the newer record, but still, the performance was just absolutely amazing. They definitely rocked out and were the hardest act there. Somewhere between the songs Amy said something about them being the hardest, and most different band there that night and at the end she introduced the Pussycat Dolls. Also, during BMTL, John I guess had fake blood in his mouth when he sang which looked freaky as hell, but it was cool. I think I even saw Terry rocking out a little bit here and there, which was really good to see. Aaand that's all I can remember from the night. Sorry no pics or videos from me guys, I didn't bring a camera, but that's the recap.

hey people i went to the show last night
I have been tryin to write a post for the past half hour - and wrote these 2 long posts but it didnt work and i lost them :( - i am tired of writing these long things and losing them so i will make it short and sweet - anyways evanescence was amazing
lithium --- had pyro in it - explosions at the beginning when the band comes in
going under
call me when youre sober
imaginary
bring me to life
that was the setlist --- i had drunk people behing me - spilling champagne all over everyone throughout the whole night, hitting everyone in the head etc.. and being exhibitionists - they brought the night down a lil but i stil had fun--- the order the artists performed was jojo, the fray, rihanna, evanescence, pussycat dolls, the killers, nick lachey, nelly furtado and rbd
fun and enjoyable night overall!!!! and i took pics and video wit my camera :)

That pyro was badass. I like the squeals in the crowd, haha. And how the camera shakes wildly. It's like everyone was about to run for their lives.
Give your friend a smack for me. I could hear her (?) more than Amy Lee. When I saw them in concert I mostly lipsynched b/c I knew no one wanted to listen to me, lol.
Did they actually allow cameras or did you have to smuggle it in?
EvFan314
12-17-2006, 10:47 PM
lol - yea i know, she is louder than amy lee lol - i actually lipsynched the whole thing until the end for the last line "im gonna let it go" and u could actually hear me sing it (im a guy btw - my friend is a girl) but youtube cut the last part out so u cant hear me lol ------but yea that pyro was awesome and i dont think there was a problem with the cameras cuz everyone had them - normally i have to smuggle it in somehow but it wasnt a big deal here for some reason

Man, you are not good at holding the camera still, my friend. :p Hahaha. The pyro stuff was freaking AWESOME. Oh man I hope they do that stuff for the arena tour; that's just COOL. Haha I bet the people in the front row got singed ;)

Dont know if this post is still active but I will give it a shot.
I am an employee of Z100 and was working the show (As everyone was from the station) and I would like to share how nice and friendly the whole band was. The interview they gave after their sound check was extremely casual (for anyone who didnt hear it). Also Amy stayed for a second afterward and talked to the DJ and I. Amy as well as the whole band are some of the nicest people I met the whole night. Their perfomance was one of the best of the night and I was lucky enough to sneak away from work to see it. I was personally hoping to get to see them and I am happy to say I was not disappointed at all. It made up for the 21 hour day I had to put in.
Ev. you guys deserve all this and more. :)

I actually have been a fan for alittle bit but never visited the site until just before the concert. I just kind of stubled upon the forum by chance and figured since they were so nice I would let it be known. As for the single we as workers can do small things here and there to push certain songs but its out of our hands. I dont see why they wouldnt play the new single though.
If you really want my job or one similar its not that hard, but you have to remember if you want to work for any station seriously you pay your dues for it. As much as the concert was a blast to work, I almost passed out going home.

Review of Jingleball (http://www.newsday.com/features/printedition/ny-etledew5020343dec18,0,7237854.story?coll=ny-features-print) with a brief Evanescence mention:
Z100's Jingle Ball, the cavalcade of hitmakers the radio station has held every year since 1995, aims to achieve a kind of pop utopia. At Madison Square Garden Friday night, the lineup was crammed with pop stars of every stripe, as if the best way to guarantee euphoria was simply to stack the deck.
From an artistic standpoint, shows like this aren't especially ambitious; artists agree to perform hit-crammed 20-minute sets as a way to thank stations for playing their music. The whole routine is more than a little antiquated: In an age of blog buzz and MySpace breakouts, it's hard to imagine many people are hearing bands for the first time on terrestrial radio.
The irony, though, is that while the show may be conceptually old-fashioned, structurally it's a perfect mirror of the digital age. Because of the short set times, bands were distilled to their essences, playing only the songs people liked and skipping straight past the doughy album filler. Because Z100 never met a genre it didn't want to market, the soundtrack shuffled from new wave to R&B to the big-eyed balladry of Nick Lachey with barely a break.
Despite all this trimming and skipping, the four-and-half hour show still was painfully bloodless. Nearly every band seemed like a pale derivation of a bigger, stronger idea. The Fray's wan piano-driven soft rock was like Coldplay without that band's will to dominate; the facile pop of Jo Jo, Rihanna's plastic dancehall and RBD's pop-reggaetón drained the menace from their parent genres; and Evanescence's rococo goth metal was all bombast and no melody. The Pussycat Dolls, the burlesque troupe-turned-pop act who rely on watery R&B numbers, were further diluted by frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger's keen disinterest in singing.
The evening's best moments came near the end, both of them from unlikely sources. Nelly Furtado's recent reinvention as an electro chanteuse spawned a middling album, but live her new songs, particularly the glitchy, doomy "Maneater," were marvelously icy. Furtado's not much of a crowd wrangler - her idea of working a stage consists of little beyond walking from one end of it to the other - but the songs managed to propel themselves just fine.
But perhaps no band benefited from Jingle Ball's restrictions more than the Las Vegas group The Killers. On record - particularly their latest, "Sam's Town" - the quartet can be unbearably haughty, but forced to comply with the evening's hit-and-split format, they were streamlined and massively effective. It doesn't hurt that the group's catalog is made up of big songs built to fill arenas. They seemed invigorated from the opening twinkle of "When You Were Young," roaring across its peaks and dips, then making the ham-handed sentiment of "Read My Mind" startlingly subtle and sweet. Vocalist Brandon Flowers dressed like Colonel Sanders and moved like a chicken, twitching, clawing and pecking his way across the stage. By the time they hit "Mr. Brightside" - a speedy ode to jealousy - they had effortlessly attained the grandeur they try so hard for on their albums.
Then, just as quickly as they had appeared, they were gone, before they ever had a chance to annoy - or to disappoint. If that's not pop utopia, what is?
Z100 JINGLE BALL. Dashing through the show, on a brightly-colored stage. Seen Friday at Madison Square Garden.
---
wtf is a rococo? Dictionary.com says it could be:
a. A very ornate style of speech or writing. (k we like that.)
b. Immoderately elaborate or complicated.
Either way, he's a lamer.

maybe he meant loco roco :p
no melody? whaaat?
Wouldnt it be cool if the stage show was like that for every one of their concerts. :)
